Where do I start From initial call, to service and the parts ordered, Cameron and Carlos were very professional, timely and cost effective. Both were very easy to deal with and the service provided was exceptional! My husband's 2013 Pathfinder would not start and was unsure what the cause was so rather tow from our complex parking lot and schedule an appointment to get it assessed it made sense to go this route instead. Once the diagnostic fee was paid, Cameron completed the job. The battery needed to be replaced, and instead of waiting for days it was ordered right there, he picked it up and by the time I came back downstairs the battery was replaced and alternator was checked. I contact Mars2cars in January 2022 to request that they change my brake pads. They came out to perform the work requested, however the technician (Josa) failed to return all of my manufactured wheel locks. After discovering this, I contacted Mars2Cars and spoke with Eddie (the owner) who after a month (February 28th) sent another technician back to provide wheel locks for my car. I have a Lexus ES 350 and they did not ensure that they were replacing the original part. Instead, they installed a cheaper product. Noticing after the installation was completed. I contacted Eddie again to express my concerns. He agreed that my vehicle parts should have been replaced based on the original parts. He mentioned the price of the product, and also stated that he has purchased the correct wheellocks and just needed to have someone come out and install them. it is March 30th, and this problem still has not been resolved. read more

They are only receiving 1 star for the initial customer service we received from Eddie. Oladayo, the mechanic, appeared to have SUBPAR expertise, at best. My car wouldn't start and I thought it was the battery. We shopped around and they charged a comparable $229 fee to come and replace the battery. They appeared to be a black run business, so we definitely wanted to support them. Oladayo arrived at my job on 09/26/18 over an hour late (I had to call him to find out his first customer had not arrived on time) and after DIAGNOSING my car for all of 3 minutes, he informed me that my battery was fine and that he was positive my starter needed to be replaced for a whopping fee of $568. All I saw him do was attach a small device to my battery, so I asked him what diagnosis he did on my starter. He informed me that he could not access my starter and would have to take my engine mount apart to replace it. So I asked how much it would cost if he took my engine mount apart, installed a new starter, and my vehicle still would not start...$275; but he knew it would start. While I called my husband to discuss and spoke to Ken in customer service, the service was halted because the security guard contacted the building manager who would not give hum permission to do the work in the garage. So now I would have to tow my vehicle out of the garage for it to be serviced. Trusting that Oladayo knew what he was talking about, my husband shopped around to get us to starter, in an effort to not pay an up charge on the part and just pay for the labor. He contacted Eddie and was informed that it would still cost $268 to install. We started calling shops and found one who would install it for $120, so we went with them instead. $210 starter, $270 tow, and $120 labor...$600 later, I found out that my vehicle didn't need a new starter. It only needed a $6 FUSE. Meanwhile, Oladayo and Ken start calling to find out how I want to pay the $65 fee for Oladayo coming out to DIAGNOSE my vehicle. After I shared what the other mechanic discovered and how I paid 100x more than I should've for my issue, Ken apologized profusely and said good thing you didn't pay the service charge up front. Then he offered me a free oil change. I have no intention of letting your company touch my vehicle. NO THANKS. But they were set on receiving a 5 star rating...Then I passed Ken over to my husband, who he offered a free lunch for 2 on them...my husband said sure, provided our cash app info Ken requested and have heard nothing since. I have a 2018 Cruze. I was told by the deal 2 years ago I needed brake and rotors all around. Not so! Cameron called first then came on time. He was courteous and knowledgeable. After the diagnostic test he determined it was just the rear. He the parts and completed the work. Easy! The best part is it didn't inconvenience me at all, no dealer games, no ridiculous wait times and decent prices. He then continued to tell me in order to do the repair, he's got to contact his supervisor and I should hear back from them by the end of the day.... that was four days ago and since then all my calls have either been ignored or forwarded to voicemail. I gave this man eddie my car information 2 days prior to him working on my car. Come time to work he gets my alternator off after fighting with it for an hour and then tells me "i got the wrong alternator this is a 130amp, youll need an 180amp alternato" "ill be back im going to autozone" He takes over an hour "trying" to find a 180amp alternator which isnt even the correct amp for my car, after over an hour he calls me and tells me he's walking into autozone and hell call me back once he gets the alternator, 5min later he texts me emojis and then text the price. So from the first time i called him he quoted me $367, when i finally see him he shows me a tablet showing me a different price $387. So the final price ended up being $520 for alternator and install. I texted him back "cancel i cant afford it please bring me my alternator. He did so. As he returned i cursed him out and eventually had to end up paying him for removing my alternator which was $110. This man is not ASE CERTIFIED LIKE IT SAYS ON HIS TRUCK. Unfortunately he lost two stars on my rating when he introduced me to his boss on his cell phone afterward, who wanted more money. I ended up paying the mechanic the amount we had previously agreed on, as he did solve the problem and held up his end of the transaction. My suggestion to everyone, would be to work out a price before the mechanic drives out. If I could give zero stars I would. Water pump needed replaced. They replaced. Then by doing so, didn't put a wire back correctly which ended up rubbing the crank shaft sensor causing my car to shut off when stopped. Took to dealership which was 600 dollars to repair. Now a month later dealership says water pump is leaking. Am trying to contact Mars 2 cars as it's under warranty but can't get ahold of anyone and mailbox is full for every number listed. I HAD a Jetta...I needed someone to unlock my steering wheel because my key broke off in the ignition while trying to unlock it myself. First, on 3 different occasions, the techs scheduled me for a morning appointments but didn't arrive until late in the evening. They tokd he I needed to buy new keys, etc...I did, then I was told it was an electrical issue, they took my steering wheel completely off, cut some wires, removed the board only to be told by the tech that he didn't know to unlock the wheel. They replaced my steering with an old wheel, it's not even compatible with my car. I suggest anyone seriously rethink allowing anyone from MARS 2 CARS work on their vehicle. My car did the unthinkable and started breaking down. My light on the console and coming out of the headlights began to dim and it would not turn over on Thursday, November 5, 2015. I looked online and called a few mobile car repair facilities so I could get my car repaired as quickly as possible, without the hassle of getting my car towed to a shop. I found MARS 2 CARS trough this search and called them on Friday, November 6, 2015 to inquire about their rates and their availability to fix my car. I spoke to Eddie at 301-343-2666 and he told me he could perform an on the spot diagnostic to determine the cause of my car woes. I mentioned that I believed it was my battery and remarked that it could be an alternator issue. Eddie arrived at my apartment at 5:47 PM and began looking at my engine. He diagnosed my issue as a dead battery after performing one test on the battery. He mentioned the fee for the diagnostic would be included in my total and quoted me a price of $224.99 to replace my battery. I agreed to the price and my battery was replaced. He performed one additional test on the battery and the car started running. I thanked him for his help and I was asked to perform a 5-star Yelp or Google+ review if I was satisfied with the service. Eddie also mentioned they are trying to grow the business and would love to keep me as a customer. He finished installing my battery at 6:05 PM. I was completely satisfied with the service, until my car broke down. Less than 24 hours later! My car conked out on East West Highway in Hyattsville, in the middle of a turn lane. I called Eddie from MARS 2 CARS and there was no response. I called the roadside assistance provided by insurance company and had my car towed to another repair facility that I have used in the past. My car was fixed on Monday, November 8, 2015 my car was diagnosed with faulty wiring within the alternator and repaired. I asked the mechanic who fixed my car and he remarked that the there was nothing wrong with my battery and the only reason my car broke down on East West Highway is because the alternator was unable to recycle the power it was getting from the battery. Of course, I was very surprised to find that MARS 2 CARS could not find the cause of my issue and provided with me a battery that did not fix my issue. I feel a refund was warranted and decided to call Eddie back. Little did I know that my request for a refund would turn into a commentary on why I had an issue because I was a "young, black woman that didn't want to be reasoned with (Eddie's exact words)." On Tuesday, November 10, 2015 (at 8:45 am), I called Eddie from MARS 2 CARS and informed him of the issues I had with my car less than 24 working hours after the repair he performed. I mentioned that the mechanic who fixed my car remarked that several tests should have been performed on my battery, prior to its replacement (none of those tests were properly performed). Eddie commented that he was sorry to hear about my issue and that I should have called on Saturday. I in turn mentioned the call I made on Saturday and the necessity for me to move quickly since my car was immovable in the middle of the street. At that point, I requested a refund for the services rendered, because the installation of a new battery did not solve my issue and was unnecessary based on a trustworthy mechanic's accurate diagnostic. He mentioned that the battery and alternator were connected and worked together and offered to provide me with "literature" so I could learn more about it. I remarked that I understand the relationship between these components, but he did not accurately diagnosis the issue with my car and made no mention of an alternator issue after he inspected my car. I again requested a refund. Eddie mentioned, "I was provided a service" of him coming out and performing a diagnostic and was unwilling to provide a refund. I commented that I would make note of his refusal to provide a refund, based on his error in properly diagnosing my issue. I mentioned that I was provided with a new battery, but that did not solve my issue. Eddie commented that it was "important to take your car to a mechanic you trust" and I interjected mentioning that I did and another mechanic I trusted was able to successfully solve my issue. He remarked, "I probably have a boyfriend that I trust, but that doesn't mean anything." He then went on a tangent in which he said "that is the problem with young, black women. They speak with authority when they are not properly educated and they do not listen to reason." I restated his remark and asked if he was stating that my race and gender affected my ability to listen to his view and he said, "Yes." At that point, I decided to end the phone call and mentioned that I would make note of all of the comments he mentioned during the call. He then began to send me derogatory text messages. read more

I woke up on the coldest morning of the year so far to find that my car wouldn't turn over. GASP!!! I tried to laugh it off, rubbed my hands together briskly then re-pushed the ignition button...sputter, sputter, konk. I counted to 10 (because I was sure my car would give a shit if I was getting mad and had to calm down) and tried one last time. Nothing. Great; GREAT! Well, one thing was sure, I was NOT taking the bus/train--I wasn't in the mood or the right frame of mind (I like to tell myself regarding my laziness). I stormed back in the house and sulked for about an hour. How was I gonna get my car to a shop? And what shop should I trust? Towing was gonna cost a mint; and calling my insurance company is never a good idea--I might as well just beg them to raise my rates for no reason. No. I'd take care of this myself. Suddenly I remembered my grandfather getting his Caddy fixed using Mars2Cars...they actually came to him and repaired the starter right there is front of his home. Done. I called and made an appointment for the same day. A dude came out (does it matter that he was cute as hell? no...but it doesn't hurt) and checked me--I mean, my car--out thoroughly before saying...are you ready for this? I think it's just your battery. WHAT?!?! Can't be! I had a friend try to give me a jump; it didn't take. Plus all the lights come and stay on! Are you sure it's not the starter or alternator? "I mean, if you'd like to PAY for a new starter or alternator, I can oblige. But I'm pretty sure it's just the battery. I can install a new one if you'd like." Today, we're married with two kids. No. NO! *slapping my face* What really happened is he ordered/replaced my battery, calmed me down when my driver's side window wouldn't roll up right away ("Give it about 30-60 minutes. Sometimes after you replace the battery your other electronics start to act weird..."), charged me around $250 for the initial estimate, the purchase of the new battery for my Inifiniti G37, and the delivery/installation, shook my hand and walked outta my life...until the next time my baby doesn't act right. I called Mars2Cars because my car wouldn't start and I was 40 min from my house. Spoke with Eddie and he assured me that he would fix the car or give me the best possible options. He arrived in a reasonable time due to the last min call that I made. He incorrectly diagnosed the car as needing an Ignition coil, keep in mind that I just purchased one 2 mos prior. After installing the ignition coil, The car did start... however 1.5 miles from my house it cut off on the highway. I immediately called Eddie back and didn't get an answer. It wasn't until 7 days later that he returned my call, meanwhile my car still had not started. I asked for some compensation, and was the told in the mechanic world they "attempt" to fix customers vehicles. I'll never call them again and Highly recommend that you don't either. read more

Before I write my review I'd like to say that this was our 2nd time we used this service, which the 1st visit we were satisfied with but the 2nd not so much & my admission that during our 1st visit, which he only came out to change a tire, when he made the statement, "I usually wouldn't come out for a small job that I really wouldn't make any money on but since it was slow today, I decided to come" I should have known that something wasn't right with this company. So on Friday June 19, 2015(included the date so you understand that this was a recent experience) I called them to come and check my car out because my air conditioner wasn't working. I believe his name is Earl(he said he is the owner of the company) came out to look at my car. After checking my car he said it was my compressor that needed to be replaced, which I already knew because I had it looked at prior to calling him. So I agreed to the $185 fee to change the compressor. After changing my compressor, he told me that their was actually a short in my car that wasn't allowing the air to flow because when he put the wires directly to the battery the air came out. He went on to tell me how the 1st person who looked at my car was unprofessional because he didn't use the proper tools to diagnose the problem and it would have definitely cost me more that $75 for the guy to fix. Fine. So he says well I can come back to fix the short for you for $135 on Wednesday. He said he couldn't do it that night because it was getting late. I said ok. So we set up an appointment for 10:00am on Wednesday the 24th. I called him Wednesday morning around 8:15am to confirm his arrival time. He responded by text at 10:15 to tell me that he had a court date he had forgotten and that he would be coming as soon as he was finished in court. After 3 hours(1:15) I called him again, now I get the company answering service, to see what time he would arrive. The lady took all my info and said that someone would get back to me in 20 minutes or less. No response. Fast forward to 4:30pm I call him again, he finally answers and says "I'm sorry the day got away from me but I will come out tomorrow to get it done for you"(in case you are wondering, no not at anytime during the day did he call or text me again to let me know he wouldn't be able to make it). I said ok, I have something to do in the morning but I will definitely be home by 1:00, Is that going to work for you. He replied: "Yes I'll see you at 1:30". I arrived home at 12:45 and called him once again to confirm his arrival time. I got his answering service, I again told the lady my name and the reason I was calling and I'd like to make sure that he will be out to fix my car at 1:30. Again, I was told that she was sending the info to the tech and somebody would respond within 20 minutes or less. I said ok. Again, no response. So after giving him the benefit of the doubt, I know we get busy and problems can occur that are out of our control, maybe he is just running late(doesn't excuse the fact he didn't call me. I do have an appointment). I waited. 3:30pm, I CALL HIM, AGAIN. Now he answers, I said hello this is Ms. Hill and I am calling to see what time you will be here to fix my car. Oh well, I'm not going to be able to make it today I got some calls that I need to go on so maybe I can come out on Friday. I HUNG UP ON HIM. I can not believe how this whole situation was treated. His level of unprofessionalism: EXPERT. I can't believe he would treat a return customer in this way or any customer for that matter. After confirming appointments with me, you tell me you can't come because you have other calls to go on. If I'm not mistaken, in business, every dollar counts. Well in his case, I guess not. Needless to say I will NEVER use his service again and if you are thinking of using it, please reconsider. Dispatcher told me they could respond that evening. Later I got a call from the tech and was asked if they could come next day early morning between 9-10am. That was the last time I ever heard from them again. No one showed up or called or left a voice mail or text......nothing. I called left two messages with the tech and one with the dispatcher. The owner "accidentally" took my wheel lock and I have been trying to get it back for 2 months. Ive texted a million times and called and spoke with him and he admits he has it but will not make arrangements to return it to me ( I currently have a flat hence the urgent need to get it back) now he wont respond at all. All the company phone voice mails are full and he will no longer respond to.me texts. When we last spoke he promised he would send one of his techs to meet me and then he just never got back in touch. Not to mention, when we did speak he tells me i have a balance with them for work I have documentation of me asking then NOT to perform in our text exchange. Why when I contact him about my wheel lock, he tells me I have a balance? If I would have never contacted him about the wheel lock, when was someone going to tell me about this balance for the tune up I so politely asked them NOT to perform. Last year they charged us almost $450.00 for a starter THAT THEY NEVER INSTALLED! They hot-glued some wires together to force the starter to start. We just purchased a new starter from the dealership and got another mechanic to install it and the truck is now working. We have started the process for legal actions upon Mars2Cars.
