I've been fortunate enough to live in the City of Pittsburgh in both the Regent Square (city side) neighborhood as well as Little Italy (Bloomfield). Both fantastic neighborhoods (Bloomfield is my beloved) close to downtown. I would often walk to and from town from Bloomfield. In addition, I worked downtown in city government and absolutely loved it. Everything about my hometown city is wonderful. We've evolved from the Iron City (steel industry) to a foodie, tech, and medical hub. The city boasts amazing turn of the century architecture (and older) with new and modern buildings. The City of Bridges has beautiful views of the Three Rivers, Mount Washington, etc. from Point State Park which is a large green space along the water. There's nothing more awe-inspiring than driving through the Fort Pitt Tunnels to have the entire city in front of you. Oh, and how could I forget? It's definitely a sports town. "How 'bout dem Stillers, yinz guys?".

Overall, it is a wonderful city! I am continuously amazed at the amount of activities and cultural amenities that a city the size of Pittsburgh has. Sure, we have the Steelers, Pens and Pirates. But there is a world class symphony, opera and ballet. Tons of options for theater. And top notch museums and gardens. The city itself, especially downtown, is fairly well maintained. There are always street teams out making sure there isn't garbage laying around and in general, streets and sidewalks are fairly well maintained. The negatives are that with all the one way streets, it can be tough to navigate downtown. And, in the winter if we get more than about two inches of snow, the snow removal is awful. Overall, though, it is a wonderful city with plenty to do and see for people of all ages. I highly recommend a visit!

So I left. I came back a couple hours later and there was just a few cars here. I spent no more than 10 minutes here. They took everything I had including two lithium-ion batteries. So awesome!

South Park Township is where I lived for many years. Once known as Snowden Township the name was…read morechanged in 1966 to South Park Township. The township offices, library, and community center are all located with the municipal complex off Brownsville Road as you head towards Piney Fork. It is near the Bavarian shopping village that houses a number of of small shops and businesses. The Post Office is in this vicinity as well. South Park Twp has expanded over the course of many years with modern housing and has become a municipality where most young adults settle to purchase homes and start new lives. One downside is that in some of these outlying areas there is no public transportation. People who live here don't seem to mind and are happy to live in a nice suburb. South Park Twp is home to the fairgrounds that once was host to the yearly Allegheny County Fair. That fair ended decades ago but the fairgrounds are still in use for seasonal events. Horseback riding is offered nearby. There are bike trails, a buffalo park, many playgrounds and even a wave pool here. South Park school district has an elementary center, middle school and a high school. The elementary school and high school are in close proximity to one another while the middle school is located on Stewart Road. They provide a fine education and recently received an honor award as a distinguished high school. Their mascot is the Eagle. South Park Twp encompasses a vast area that extends to the golf courses in the park itself all the way over to a district known as Library. The park itself including the BMX track, groves, and two golf courses are reviewed separately. There is however, an attraction worth noting which is Stone Manse which I have yet to visit is part of the Oliver Miller Homestead. This is a historic site which was part of the Whiskey rebellion. It is open seasonally on Sundays only. I am truly amazed every time I go through this area to see how much it has changed for the better over the years.
