All that said, at the price they charge I shouldn't have to actively manage inspections or repeately provide requests to SGS to manage landscaping/cleaning/lawn care/maintenance, etc. I did not expect my property to be in the same shape I left it years before, but I also didn't expect to alert the property manager that a major appliance was non-functional (flooded dishwasher) and shoddy repairs were done when I had paid one of his sub-contractors just two months prior. To make matters worse, I was simply told "You're killing me!" when I asked to have the tenants' security deposit held until the matter was resolved. The deposit was returned without notification and the account was closed out. I currently rent a 1 br apartment in the westover neighborhood in arlington for under 700 bucks, and comparable places around here easily go for 1100.. Over the past year they havent really raised my rent either, so I can't complain. They are decent at fixing things when I call, and they also have pest control come through our apartments every 3 months or so. I'm afraid of advertising for them because I don't want my rent to go up, but you should give them a call if you want to find a cheap apartment in this area.

I experienced constant flooding and sewage leaking from the kitchen sinks (yep, 2 sinks), giant sized insects invading our space, decaying floor boards from water damage, 3 years of uninterrupted mold and mildew, the need for a dehumidifier requiring 4 buckets of water to be dumped daily, and the last stray was a bathroom ceiling leaks flooding the unit requiring a 1 month stay in the hotel paid for by my insurance and I still had to pay the rent for my unit. During those 3 years, I suffered terribly from respiratory problems for the first time in my life. No empathy shown by the leasing agent or landlord for the major and myriad inconveniences. Upon returning to the unit in addition to the floor repairs they used substandard contractors to paint the walls. During my stay at the hotel (on my insurance's dime, mind you despite paying the full month's rent DURING it's renovation) I was not notified that the walls would be painted until AFTER the work was done, nor was my artwork removed from the walls prior to painting. The substandard painters merely painted around my artwork. Essentially their substandard painting contractors sealed the damage free adhesive to the walls with the paint making the artwork impossible to remove without damaging the wall. Moreover, the substandard contractors also painted over the back door sealing it shut. Upon move-out, the property management company wanted to penalize me for the damage caused by their own substandard painters shoddy work, since there're still holding on to my security deposit. Avoid renting through this "property management" company at all costs
