My daughter went online and used their website to try to figure out comps in her area. She purposefully did not include her real name or phone number. Using the address given, they searched the owners and found her phone number and started calling. She tonality told them she wasn't going to use them, and to please not call her anymore. Most companies would leave it at that. Nope. This company apparently searched for previous addresses and/or people associated with my daughter and SIL, and they started to call me and my SIL's father, which is in a totally different state. When they called us, the person on the phone said they were calling to speak to XXX (giving us their full names) about their property at XXX (giving up their complete street address and city). They had no idea who we were, and what we would do with that information. So they gave contacted out of state phone numbers giving personal information that was never given to them in the first place. She obviously called them and chewed them out for giving out her personal information. read more

If there was a zero rating I would pick it. Rushed closing, pressure sales and their house flip was horrifyingly shoddy work. We literally have a two inch gap between where the drywall ends and the floors begin. Our closing was pushed back two weeks because they put the downspouts straight into the ground and it flooded. On walk through the entire basement was filled with mold. They "fixed it" and our entire basement floor is crumbling. Do not buy at asking price. Take what they ask, divide by ten and then multiply by 2. That's how much you should reduce the offer. If you don't, you'll be dropping 100k within the first 10 years. Guaranteed. read more

I was not pleased with the process. It was not very transparent. Initially, received an offer to purchase my home after about 2 weeks of discussion. Then about 1 week before the first closing I was informed that they couldn't purchase the home. I was offered what they call a hybrid solution where they list the home with one of their local partners in the area of the property. I agreed to that solution, but information was slow in coming or no existent during the process. I called, emailed and sent text messages requesting a status. These reports were very slow. I even had to ask if the property had closed on the schedule closing date. Bottom line, I got the money I wanted out of the property. It didn't happen in 7 days as the commercial implies. I probably could have gotten more money had I sold it myself or worked with a local realtor myself. Or it could have taken longer and yielded less. We will never know now that the deal is done. You be the judge 12 weeks from first call until closing. I still don't have the closing documents that show the total disbursement. read more

They offered $250K for a ~$375 - 425K house (which might be ok if you are indeed just trying to unload it), but I said no, and yet they KEEP CALLING. I've told them verbally at least a dozen times, and once IN WRITING to stop calling. The sales rep I worked with doesn't even work there anymore! Two stars was all I could muster. First was the low ball which was my choice because I wanted to get rid of the house.They kept me in the dark about what was going on with my house. They asked for a key to put in a lock box. When I contacted them after two months they would tell me "we will keep you informed". Then one day I go by my house to check the yard the inside was painted, the carpet and the appliances were replaced. They never notified me that this was going to be done. They threw out or stole all the property that I had in the house. When I asked Kelli Wells who was in charge of it, she lied and said she did not know anything about it and would check into it. She never did and gave a lame excuse and basically said I would not get my property back. This company owes me money for my missing property because they had access to it my house. Lessons Learned: Do not let them low ball you. Do not give them a key until they are going to show the house. Do not sign a power of attorney for their lawyer. This is the device that will cut you out of everything. Make them give you a date for when they are going to renovate and get your property out before the workers come in. They have some unethical people on their staff so use extreme caution when dealing with them. read more

Then the didn't call back with info for days! I tried calling back to get the info, and was told, you'll be getting a call "very soon". So, six days later -- yes six days!!! -- the guy calls me back and leaves a voicemail. Seriously?! What happened to the "7 minutes", etc.?? Meanwhile, I sold my house myself. I'm only giving these sleaze bags one star because it's not possible to give zero stars. My girlfriend is moving to another state to take care of a family member, which I explained to EHB and they must have thought I was desperate to sell. Houses in my neighborhood go for $430K-$450K. On the phone they told me they'd offer $300K-$350K. I said "no thank you, I'm not desperate." and if they had left it at that, I'd have been fine. But today I received a piece of physical mail from them offering me $280K which is good for 30 days. I don't need the money and even if I did, I'd let the house go into bankruptcy before I ever sold it to these con men. It's obvious from their tactics that they're just looking to rip off home owners that are in precarious situations. I'll also head off the sleazy CEO at the pass before he chimes in with his patented "But we have a great BBB rating!" comment. The BBB isn't a great metric. It lets you know if someone is operating within the boundaries of the law and doing the bare minimum to address customer complaints within these standards. The CEO is a vulture who preys on homeowners who are in distress and takes advantage of them by offering well below market value for a house. Just because a business has a good BBB rating doesn't mean they're good people. I'd classify them as evil. I'm still in disbelief they'd have the gall to send me a joke of an offer on my house after I scoffed at their higher estimate on the phone. Keep in mind these people didn't come out to visit my home and have zero idea what kind of shape it's in. They were gambling that I'd be someone desperately in need of money and made a last ditch attempt to screw me over after I rejected them on the phone. read more
