For the estimate, Brandon (owner) came out personally to walk me through the process, pricing, warranty, and timeline. He struck a great balance--warm and approachable, yet professional and knowledgeable. Cost-wise, all of my bids were within $300 of each other, so price wasn't a major deciding factor. The companies I spoke with offered almost identical processes and warranties, so my decision ultimately came down to communication and overall confidence. Brandon and his team made the best first impression, and trusting that gut feeling definitely paid off. As for the installation itself--the process was smooth and well organized. The team dropped off a storage pod (included in the price) on Friday, giving us the weekend to clear out the garage. They returned Monday and completed the first phase in about five hours, which included surface prep (diamond grinding), crack repair, base coat application, and decorative flake broadcast. They allowed the floor to cure overnight, then came back Tuesday to scrape and clean the excess flake before applying the topcoat. They provided clear post-install instructions, no foot traffic for 24 hours and no vehicles for 72 hours, as well as after care information. From start to finish, communication was excellent. The "inspiration station" is such a good idea, so I can set up my tile and match it up, step back and look at it to get a visual. A couple days ago, a staff member named Cindy, asked me if I needed help. I said no, I was fine. Then, by her observing what I was looking at, she said, "well let me know if you need help finding sealer or anything else. I assume you know you need to seal your marble before grouting. I'm happy to help you make decisions too, if you need help choosing and getting ideas." Hmmmm. What??? I DIDN'T know I needed to seal my marble before grouting. I was about to make a big mistake. So, I enlisted her help. She was a such a wealth of information. I have been a DIY'er for 20 years, and felt pretty confident in my abilities, but she told me things I didn't know. Granted, I have always worked with ceramic/porcelain tile, and am new to working with marble. How different can it, be, right? Wrong. She knew what country the marble tiles were from. "This tile is from Turkey. Just like the one you're looking at. It would match!" She knew what kind of grout I needed. Sealer. Edging metal pieces. She asked me what I was going to use on the corners. Where I was going to lay the tile. If my wet saw blade was sharp. She helped me choose grout color. Showed me samples. Trotted me all over the store, here to there, getting everything I needed. She even sprayed down the marble, showing me what it would look like after it was sealed, since it can darken. WOW. Someone, put this girl on commission! She deserves it. I spent an extra $100 because of her, and do not regret any of it. I now feel very confident in the look and longevity of my upcoming tile job I'm about to embark on. The sealer and grout have a very long warranty, and so this is work I will not have to redo anytime soon. YAY! I'm blown away. Customer service like this, these days, is very very hard to come by. I will be returning, and asking for Cindy. Thank you, Cindy. You are epic.
