It was easy to schedule a "meet and greet" with Amy and Andrew, who are visiting our two dogs (a quiet 9-year old and a 5-year old with attitude; both sighthounds) about 3 times a week. Since then Amy and Andrew have taken care of our pups for the past month or so. They are both responsible and have the kind of calm personality that all dogs feel comfortable being around. They've followed all our instructions, provided very detailed updates and pictures, and taken good care of our doggies. So far I am very pleased with the service. We love our dogs like children and feel good about entrusting Amy and Andrew with their care.

It was challenging work for her, because she had to administer an inhaler treatment twice a day to one of the cats, Marlow, despite not having known him before. She did an absolutely wonderful job. He was actually in better shape and coughing less, after we came home than before we left. Both cats looked happy and relaxed. The cat area was left clean and tidy. my wife was taking our pets to this groomer. the owner is pretty nice but her worker jess is rude…read more first of all, youre not allowed to enter the grooming facility which made us uncomfortable to begin with. never took our dogs to any groomer where you cant enter the office or facility. they come out of the house and collect your dogs, which seemed a little fishy to me when my wife told me this....... so what are they hiding ?????? their rates are a little high for the service they provide. my wife has health issues that prevent her from doing our dogs on her own. then when they come out to do the nails, they hardly take anything off. we were thinking of finding another groomer because of some of these issues, but now we are sure we are going to ........... they called and canceled our appointment due to the fact that torry had gotten hurt. ok fine and we had to wait 3 more weeks and the dogs really needed grooming. then when the new appointment came up, my mother passed away and the last thing on my mind was dog grooming. my wife called them later that day and you cant get anyone on the phone of course, she left a message. jess sent her a message saying they would not do our dogs again unless we paid a 25.00 fee for a no show.... really ?????? how uncompassionate can you be ?????? my wife sent them a copy of the newspaper article showing that my mother passed away and asked for torry to call her. she said she would call my wife later that day, well she didnt until 4 days later and still wants a no show fee which would be a total of 50.00. goodbye passionate pets....... they are really compassionate. wow

The staff is all caring and understanding from the front counter staff, to the techs to the vets. Our dog does not like being confined or feet touched but the staff was able to cut our dogs nails and look at her torn dewclaw without issue. I could not speak higher of this office. They are able to get you in usually the same day if needed. They have provided exceptional care to our dog since switching to them.

I was charged a phenomenal amount and was not told prior to presenting me with the bill. When I went back for the checkup, again I was overcharged and was prescribed the same medication that wasn't effective the first time. I had to take my dog to an animal clinic to get the ear infection cleared up, spending a total of over $1300. I have since changed Vets, and was charged less than $100 for a new visit with two vaccines. My advice is, make good choices and ask questions, even if you trusted them in the past.

I reread what I had written on the papers. I do not lie. The information was accurate. Sammy is a 5 1/2 pound - 1 1/2 year old Yorkie. The owner complained that Sammy was digging when left outside alone. (Yorkies like to dig in the dirt!) The owner commented that my puppy didn't like to be alone. On the paper I wrote he is very friendly. She was not at all sympathetic; that we had recently lost our beloved eight-year old Yorkie, Dundee, Sammy's best friend about a month ago.) Due to that, yes, I agreed with the owner, Sammy does not like to be alone. I do not find this as a fault, but rather an endearing quality. We were appalled that the owner would put a 5 1/2 pound Yorkie in an open field/pen with no covering without any regard to possible hawks. This is unacceptable. Has she not ever seen a hawk swoop down and pick up a small animal? It happens very quickly! So no, Sammy has never been left outside alone nor should he be. And finally the owner added that our puppy was not welcome back to Chateau Barkingham kennel. This was a bit beside the point because in our minds, we already had decided he would never be brought back to this establishment. The owner is not at all versed in dealing with puppies or very small dogs. When we returned home we talked to Sammy's Veterinarian. Our Vet was shocked at the "faults" found in Sammy. All ridiculous. Best of luck with your business, but don't expect any positive reviews to your kennel from us!

The kennels are pretty big, it is indoors and they are small rooms with TVs, seriously. But she gives them outdoor time to be dogs. It is very out in the middle of nowhere, but that just means it is quieter. The owner is way in to the dog whisperer school of dog obedience, I am clearly not...but if she wants to fight the inevitable, more power to her. Every time we go on vacation, this is the first call we make.
