When I visited the first time, a lap cat who was just spayed, locked her eyes on me....I thought a match! The large man working at the facility said the cat was not up for adoption. He also did not tell me ANYTHING about the process and need to file an "application" online. He only said, after much prodding, it would be a few weeks before the cat would be up for adoption, and I should check back on the website in a few weeks. I will say he was very "STAND-OFF-ISH" to me for an unknown reason. I came back the next week, and the cat was not there. I was told from a more friendly man, that the cat was having its stiches removed and another week or so before the cat would be ready for adoption. But unfortunately, he too did not tell me about the adoption process and need for an online application. Why would people whom are trying to get animals adopted, not tell them about the application process? WHAT ELSE ARE THEY HIDDING?

I am 100% sure they kidnapped my cat from my community and hostage her for donation and selling as a business rather than a non profit organization. Pure intention matters! I have donated to multiple organizations monthly base, raising fund for good purpose, money is not a problem for me. However, I don't want to reward bad behaviors. The missing time for my cat and the one they posted online matches and the very detailed stripes pattern matches. It's questionable that one employee said she from North Carolina, another one said she from West Virginia. I have my cat since she was born, I can recognize this cat from eye contact. Well, if you know your children, you know them by the spirit, right? I sent them many details to JUST take a look, they refused. It's not built to help ppl or animals at all. I will show how my cat look like and how sick she is now in their foster home. I'm deeply saddened and worried about her. She is territorial as a cat does. She has been a happy cat in her own home, wtf they think this is a rescue. Now I have to either kiss their ass or be assertive to fight against this negativity just to get her rescued from these horrible ppl. F that! If they don't practice as ethical as it should be, this is a big big issue! I put the photos of how my cat looked before and how she looks now in their foster homes(one with name caption) I am seriously furious and frustrated about this. If they couldn't give me an explanation why they made it so difficult to meet the cat. I have to say I will use my popularity and influence to the extreme to make things right!!!

After a week of making sure I could definitely bring this dog home, I finally reached out about scheduling a visit. At this point, I was all in and ready to adopt this dog. I sent over the application via email ahead of time and was super excited to visit him that weekend. Fast forward to Friday and I received an email from Ming that the dog had gotten adopted and my visit was cancelled. My heart was broken. Lucky for me, the adoption didn't end up going through, and Ming reached back out on Saturday night to see if I still wanted to visit, which OF COURSE I did! I stopped by the next day, took the dog for a walk around the neighborhood and then signed all of the paperwork and paid the adoption fee. It's important to note that the CARE team works on a first-come, first-serve basis, so the dog you're looking at could easily get adopted before you get the chance to make it to your scheduled visit. I would've appreciated the team letting me know someone else was also in the adoption process/looking at the dog so I wouldn't have been so surprised. Once I visited, the adoption process was super easy and Ming was really great at explaining everything to me that I needed to know. My new dog is the sweetest and I'm SO happy everything worked out!

I am incredibly disappointed with my experience purchasing fish from this Petco…read more I came in excited to buy my very first school of neon tetras after spending weeks cycling and preparing my aquarium. I am very particular about my fish and always take the time to carefully observe the tank before purchasing, making sure there are no dead fish and that all of them appear healthy and active. Unfortunately, the experience was heartbreaking. The employee with blonde hair, glasses, and a full floral sleeve tattoo on her right arm handled the fish in a way that immediately concerned me. The first red flag was that she never asked a single question about my aquarium or whether my tank was properly cycled before selling me the fish. What was even more concerning was the bagging process. She spent an excessive amount of time chasing the fish around the tank with the net. On more than one occasion, I watched fish get caught between the net and the glass while she continued trying to scoop them. It was difficult to watch because the fish appeared to be getting pinned during the process. By the time she finished bagging the fish and handed the bag to me, one of the neon tetras had already died. Based on what I witnessed, she killed at least three tetras, including the one that was bagged to me and not including the school of neon tetras. When I got home and took the bag out, every remaining fish was dead. The entire school of neon tetras I had just purchased had died. Several were lying on their sides and gasping before they passed away. I can't say for certain what caused it, but after witnessing how they were handled, I left feeling that they had been subjected to an unnecessary amount of stress. I immediately called the store to let them know what had happened and drove back. This is where the experience completely split into two very different customer service interactions. Kevin was absolutely phenomenal. He greeted me with kindness, empathy, and genuine concern. He immediately began the refund process, apologized for what had happened, and directed me to aquatics. Kevin treated me like someone whose excitement had just been ruined, not like I was an inconvenience. Employees like him are the reason i'll come back, and he deserves recognition for the professionalism and compassion he showed. Unfortunately, my interaction with Laura was the exact opposite. When I walked up holding the bag containing an entire school of dead fish, she showed no compassion whatsoever. As I reached out to hand her the bag, she didn't even acknowledge it and instead abruptly told me she needed to see my receipt. There was no "I'm sorry," no concern for what had happened, no empathy for the animals, and no attempt to make the situation right emotionally. Her attitude made an already upsetting experience even worse. Losing an entire school of fish is disappointing enough. What made it truly frustrating was the complete lack of compassion from the aquatics employee. These are living animals, and customers who care enough to properly cycle and prepare an aquarium deserve to be treated with respect and empathy when something goes wrong. Kevin turned what could have been an even worse experience into one that at least felt acknowledged. As for the employees in aquatics, I sincerely hope management addresses both customer service and proper fish handling, because no customer should leave excited about their aquarium, have a fish die before they even leave the store, and then arrive home to find their entire school of fish dead.

My coordinator was exceptionally responsive and always had the best interest of the dog at heart. I couldn't be more in love with our new puppy! As for the poor reviews, I think many people expect this to be an easy and quick process - it shouldn't be. A new pet is a big commitment and it's worth the effort. "This has never happened before" claimed Katherine. Unprofessional and unethical. Dog is a beautiful mix but the papers given to me by Katherine at adoption indicated a lab/miniature poodle and there is NO poodle in this dog! Breeder on papers indicate Amish. Again issue of morality with inaccurate papers. He had been re-homed/fostered several times by five months and that should have alerted me. Good natured and sweet but does not know when to stop whatever he is involved in, especially play with other dogs or children, is rough and extremely strong at 60 lb. According to a top/well known trainer in Potomac, "it is in the wiring" and he is not invited back to her facility. Fortunately, another excellent trainer is a family friend and does take him with the understanding that he stays with the humans rather than the other dogs, whom he tortures. Now I adore him, sharing my bed, and giving him Prozac twice a day plus CBD oil on particularly bad days. No dog parks for him though.
