I arranged my entire life around it, took an extended leave from work, made arrangements for my recovery, and showed up at the hospital on the morning of my scheduled surgery prepared to have the procedure. **The hospital had no record of my surgery.** I was left standing there on the morning of surgery trying to figure out what had happened. I was later told that the person responsible for scheduling at my doctor's office had sent the request to the hospital, but the hospital says they never received it. Apparently, no one from the office ever followed up to confirm that an operating room had actually been reserved. Because of that failure, my surgery did not happen. They then attempted to reschedule me for the following Monday. At that point, the hospital/anesthesiology team required additional medical testing before proceeding. I completely understood the need for the testing and immediately did everything that was asked of me. I have now completed the required testing and have repeatedly called and begged this office to tell me what is happening and get my surgery back on the schedule. **They have essentially stopped responding to me.** The most unbelievable part is that I finally had to get **my insurance company involved just to find out what was happening.** My insurance company contacted the practice and then informed me that the person responsible for scheduling my surgery had gone on vacation and would not return until the 20th. No one from the practice bothered to tell me this. Apparently, after their original scheduling error caused me to show up at a hospital for a surgery that wasn't actually on the hospital's schedule, my case was simply allowed to sit while the person handling it went on vacation--with seemingly no one else taking responsibility for getting my surgery scheduled. I have been calling. I have been leaving messages. I have explained repeatedly that I am already off work and losing income. I have pleaded for someone to call me back. At this point, I don't even have enough time left in my leave to reasonably schedule the surgery and recover before I am supposed to return to work. This isn't a missed haircut or a dinner reservation. **This is surgery.** Patients arrange their jobs, finances, transportation, family support, recovery care, and their entire lives around a surgical date. There is absolutely no excuse for a medical practice to allow a patient to arrive at a hospital for surgery without confirming that the surgery was actually scheduled--and then, after causing that disruption, fail to communicate with the patient while the situation becomes progressively worse. What has been most upsetting is not simply that a mistake happened. People make mistakes. It is the **complete lack of urgency, accountability, communication, and effort to fix the mistake afterward.** I trusted this practice with my medical care. Instead, I have been left chasing them for answers while losing income and watching the window I set aside for a medically necessary procedure disappear. I am posting this because prospective patients deserve to know how this office handled my surgical care when something went wrong. I am still waiting for someone from this practice to take responsibility, call me, and tell me how they intend to get my surgery scheduled.

For that, I sincerely hope Karma does her work on the evil men that seek to torture innocent girls and women. About my procedure, it was not wanted nor was it desired. Rather, it was NEEDED. My baby, which I'm aware was a fetus at just 20 weeks, had abnormalities that made it nonviable outside of my womb. There were missing internal body parts that my specialists back home informed me the fetus would not live through the birth and if it did, it would be in agony and perish quickly. I could not do that to my child. The people at this clinic understood and showed me nothing but love and compassion. I was even treated gently. Far more gentle than I believed I deserved. From the ladies taking my insurance info to the intake coordinator to the nurses and doctors, I cannot express enough how much we appreciate what you did for us. Both me and my husband. For anyone seeking a D&E, I want to assure you that you're safe at this location. I would not say so otherwise. I was kept awake during the procedure, the meds they use are strong enough that you honestly won't feel or remember anything. I was terrified I would and relieved to find it was faster and easier than I anticipated. After my procedure, which took two days in two separate appointments, I flew home with medicine prescribed to me. For Anyone reading this that is forced to make the same decision as us, take comfort that you are not alone. I offer this review with the warmest of sympathies and hope that you too will find comfort. Which I believe you will find with the good people here.
