This was my first time to Apex Dermatology for my annual skin exam. The front desk staff was quick to check me in & was welcoming. The office was clean as well. Apex was easy to find with lots of available spaces in the parking lot. My appointment began right on time with the Assistant, however I had quite a long wait for my exam. Rachel Goldstein did my skin check. She was friendly & professional & took her time to examine my skin. Her exam was thorough & everything looked great. Rachel answered all my questions & concerns. She even "froze off" a couple of sun spots. Apex is a great place for this & many other dermatology services. I'm planning on returning next year! read more

A waste of $140 just to tell me that she won't remove any of my spots using cryosurgery. I've had cryosurgery done before and it's my body so if I want the spots gone then I want them gone. Very disappointing experience. Booked an appointment to have a mole looked at and general check-up. The doctor looked at it for less than 5 seconds and I was informed that I'd have to book a different appoint for her to do a general scan. Really poor communication / customer service to fail to mention that when I booked my appointment or in the office in advance of paying the $100 co-pay. I regret not taking note of all the other bad reviews. read more

I would give 0 if I could. Trying to even talk to a real person is impossible. The least that I've waited to speak to a receptionist is 16 minutes. When you finally get someone on the line, they are rude and act as if you were bothering them by trying to schedule an appointment. I I made an appointment for fillers and they right away told me I needed to pay a deposit of $200 to secure the I would show up to the appointment. They said the deposit would be credited back to my credit card the day of the appointment. I just got my credit card statement and they never credited the $200 back to me. I was overcharged $200 and there is no one I can talk to about it. The receptionists say I have to talk to the office manager who is never there. I called the Billing Office at US Dermatology Partners and they said they would look into it and I have not heard back. I would avoid this practice. There are many other smaller and better dermatologists offices in Denver. PS: I would still like to get my $200 deposit back! read more

They Will NOT ANSWER CALLS - they messed up my script and I had to call 5 days in a row (each voice mail saying they will get back to you "within 24 hour") I called the front desk - my doctor - other doctors in the office - everywhere and I literally could not get a call back until I physically had to drive there to tell them what was going on. This place was such a disappointment. I came in for laser hair removal. I received 7 sessions over 7 months and spent $1400. Throughout all of my sessions I kept asking how many I should get and whether it was working as it should be. Brittany told me to stop coming in after month 7, as she didn't think any more hair could be removed. I stopped coming in and less than 2 months later, my hair has fully grown back. It looks like I never even got a single session. I called to complain and see what the office could do. The Manager insinuated I have hormone issues and should talk to a doctor. Even if the treatment didn't work well for my body, then that should have been communicated to me early on before I spent a few hundred more dollars. In addition, the office is inefficient as I would always sit in the waiting room for about 20-30 minutes past my appointment time every time I went in. Save yourself a few thousand dollars and go to another dermatologist. read more

I have never left a review but it feels super necessary after my two past experiences that were 3 months apart. On my end- I showed up exactly 8 min late to my appointment - but I did in advance call and not get a answer. (The time previous I was on time and still waited 45 min. ) Upon arrival I was told since I was late I would need to wait. I ended up waited 2 1/2 hours to be seen for an appointment where the doctor saw me for a total of 3 (yes I timed it on my Apple Watch) minutes. After finally getting into a room and waiting an additional 35 min the doctor comes in. Mind you she has not seen me in 3 months the first thing she says to me is "well your skin definitely does not look great". As a 22 year old who has dealt with acne since 13 this brought me to the point of tears. She then continued to prescribe me ANOTHER or medication on top of the other one I was prescribed. Since I was not able to reach the fully allotted dose of the other medication (because it was a blood pressure medication that made me feel like I was going to pass out) the option was to put me on more oral medication. With that the 3 minutes ended and I was charged a copay of $100. As I was leaving I was explaining that I would be out of town for the summer was wondering if the medication prescriptions would be able to be processed out of state. The nurse practitioner said yes and as I called the next day to order the prescription it was unable to be delivered out of state. Needless to say I have had better experiences and results from a $50 facial than from my entire year of trying this location. read more

First when I called I was very specific about what was going on and asked them if they would be able to treat me. I was told yes they could and then waited a couple months for my appointment. When I got there Dr YIN was with me less than 2 minutes when she said they don't treat my issue and told me I would need to goto another Dr. So what did they make the appointment? Obviously so they could charge 300 dollars for no service !! Stay away!!! this is big business who does not care for the patient only their bottom line. I asked them to wave the fees because they provided no service and was told absolutely not. In no other industry could you charge for performing no services! Stay away from DR YIN and APEX as they are a money hungry company!! They should be ashamed of their predatory billing practices!! read more

I'm only leaving 2 stars bc the NP, Mary Ann, was great. However, the entire experience with this place has been a disaster. I saw her on 9/15 to get a few prescriptions filled and IM STILL WAITING ON THEM (9/27). It's literally impossible to get in touch with anyone. I had to call the central billing office today and they even mentioned that they frequently hear that reaching office staff is a challenge and suggested I drive to the office. Like, what?! Maybe just staff your phones and return patient calls?? I would not recommend this practice, even if the docs are great bc should you have an issue that needs attention forget about it. I use to love this office and the Dr. but I can't deal with the person who answers the phone. Doesn't seem to like her job and what she does. My 88 year old father went there for the first time. When we filled out his paperwork we listed his pharmacy and when he was there he told them his pharmacy. Despite that, they sent it to another pharmacy stating that it was a compound and only Summit pharmacy could fill it. I found this out when Summit pharmacy called me 5 days after his visit because they did not have his insurance information or payment method. I called Apex starting on a Monday morning and spoke with June who said she would take care of it. It wasn't taken care of. Then I called and spoke with Amanda who said she would take care of it, and it wasn't. Finally Kenya took care of it. It took from calling on Monday until Friday to get it taken care of. My father went without the medication for 12 days because of incompetence. The cream was not a compound cream, my fathers pharmacy was able to easily fill it. I can only assume that Apex has an arrangement with Summit pharmacy as to why they lie and ignore patient requests for prescriptions to go to another pharmacy. On another note, if you actually get a live person on the phone when you call Apex in under 15 minutes - play lottery. read more

I was really unhappy with the cost of my last appointment, and more importantly the lack of transparency from Dr. Theriault. I went in for a regular full body check up. That went fine and there was nothing further needed. I also had two small warts on my hard. The dr applied liquid nitrogen to freeze them. It was quick and simple and I was in and out in 20 minutes. I was surprised to see that the total bill for all of that was $400. I have good insurance and it covered half of that. But the problem is that it never should have been that expensive, and when it is going to be that expensive the dr. Should explain that so you know. I was really disappointed, no one wants to be surprised like that. I would have skipped treating the warts if I had know it would be that expensive. I won't go back here and don't recommend that you do. read more

They are very careful to treat all of their patients with kindness and respect. We came in for a mole removal, and after the past mole required 22 stitches, I made sure not to eat lunch before the appointment. Dr. Dawson convinced my child that the removal would be, 'no big deal,' and it wasn't. I didn't faint or need water. It was rather quick and easy. My son couldn't even keep up with the quick and easy nature of the Dr., who removed the beast before he could blink. She also found a scalp issue that was beyond my 30 years of motherly experience. Now that impressed me greatly. The post surgical instructions were easy to follow, and they called with the results a few days later. Stressing over simple things are made easier by excellent Dr.s. I highly recommend Apex Dermatology. Every time I come in Dr. Theriault does a thorough exam and takes the time to truly diagnose an issue. She does her best not to cut something suspicious out without exhausting all other options. I've been to dermatologists that immediately just cut things off leaving scarring that may not be necessary. I think she is knowledge and a fantastic doctor. This is not easy to find! read more

I have called this Dermatologist 3 times. Each time my average wait time to talk to a scheduler was over 20 mins. There hold music is the one song bite that plays for 30 seconds and then a recording says, "Thanks for your patience. Our schedulers are busy. Leave a message and they will call you back." This alone enrages a patient while they have been on hold for 22:46 and counting. When I've left a message in the past, shocker, no one EVER called me back and I had to wait AGAIN. This is a terrible patient experience. There are many dermatologists in Dever, chose one that doesn't make you wait 25 mins to schedule an appointment. read more

How many times can you say that someone saved your life? I went in for my regular checkup, and Dr. Wallner saw a tiny suspicious spot. After biopsy it was determined to be aDesmoplastic Melanoma, and an In Situ melanoma. The oncologist was extremely impressed it was found at .99mm as it disguises itself as a lesion, and mostly does not get detected until it is 4 mm! By finding it this early, they could find no trace of cancer in lymph nodes, brain or liver. Well done Dr. Wallner! read more

She is thorough and explains all the latest research and information in treating dermatology issues. I have trusted this practice for over 8 years. Brittany, the esthetician, is on time always! She is educated in skin care and has all the latest machines and technology to treat wrinkles, age spots etc. She always makes my skin look and feel amazing. Great care, but very slow in all aspects. It seems like every time I visit Apex I end up waiting forever to check in, waiting to be called, waiting in the room for a provider. I went in today and was early for my appointment, but then wasn't called to go back for 15 minutes past my appointment time (in the AM also.). I'm just now checking out and it's been a full hour for my appointment time and I was seen for a simple 5 min procedure. read more

Such a wonderful office and team. I have never had a bad experience with Apex. The providers are very accommodating and their assistants get back to you within the day if you have any questions. I had a medication that was going cost 300$ thru insurance. I called them and that same day they offered an alternative way for me to get the med for only 40$. Honestly I've never had a doctors office go out of their way to help accommodate financially. Also If you need to get in last minute, the PAs can normally get you in same day. Not to mention the office is very nice and they offer great deals on cosmetic products! Highly recommend. read more

The unfortunate thing with Apex is that they actually have great doctors, just incredibly unprofessional support and technical staff. My wife and I waited for over an hour beyond our appointment late last year but were very pleased with Dr. Theriault at the end of the day and so gave it another go today. I think the saying goes something like, "fool me once..." Today, I went in for a simple outpatient procedure at 12:30. It was clear that they were busy/behind schedule from the minute I walked in. One Doctor actually had to be called so he/she could explain the delay as it was 12:45 and she had a patient that had been waiting since 12pm and he/she wasn't even in the office. There were about 4-5 other folks waiting as well. I guess lunch went long...While I waited for nearly 45 minutes, I didn't get a lick of "sorry for the delay" or "it'll be x more minutes." Radio silence. The staff seemed more focused getting on to eating their lunch than anything else. At 1pm, the already full waiting room got even more full as the 1pm appointments were arriving but alas, they called my name at 1:10! The nurse clearly had no idea what was going on as she actually asked me why I was in the office today as she was frantically trying to read my account notes...basically burning more time until the doctor could come see me. She left and then returned 10 minutes later to inform me that they had only scheduled me for a 10 minute follow-up for a procedure yet to be completed...Gah! After an apology, I had the pleasure of walking out having wasted 2 hours of my time, none the better, but with a promise that the office manager would call me to 'make it right.' Without even introducing herself, I got a call from someone that said...and I quote..."I heard you had a problem at the office today. What do you want me to do about it." I quickly informed her I didn't ask for a call, but was told someone would call to address the situation. She responded with, "oh, well did you get rescheduled then?" As one can imagine, the conversation didn't last much longer. Net/net - if you're looking for a solid dermatologist, I'd look elsewhere. Apex clearly has more patients than they can support. The staff at Apex are unprofessional and more importantly, unconcerned with time management and treating customers with any level of respect. As other reviewers have noted, you'll probably get great service if you're in to pay out of pocket for cosmetic work. Anyone recommend a decent dermatologist in Denver? read more

I would normally have given a two-star review here because Dr. Theriault, who I have seen twice now seems to be a genuinely nice person and a knowledgeable doctor. Nonetheless, both times I have been to apex I feel that I am rushed through and haven't seen the doctor for more than a total of about 5 min either time. I recently went in to have a wart removed from my hand (gross I know), and all that was done was they shot it with liquid nitrogen, which was something I had already tried at home to no avail. I specifically told them this and the doctor said they would try it out with a more powerful version and I relented despite my suspicion that it would not work. Sure enough, when the top layer of the wart fell off the wart was still there. This alone would have prompted me to give them a two star review, but I got a call from their billing department earlier this week (mind you this is 6 months later!) telling me I owe them $250 for the treatment. This is AFTER my insurance company paid for a portion. So that is $250 out of pocket for a wart removal THAT DIDN'T EVEN WORK!! I am am extremely upset by this and was in no way informed that the bill even had the possibility of being this high. Needless to say I will never be going back to apex dermatology. read more

I have been to many dermatologists in my lifetime and this place is exceptional. Dr. Wallner is very friendly and really knows everything about skin. They also offer laser treatments, botox, amazing facials and peels. My skin has never looked so hydrated and youthful. I have tried mostly all the services and I have never had one complaint. The staff is extremely competent and will always make you feel right at home. They will refund any products if they happen to not be what you liked. But I have never been disappointed. This place is great. I have never had more complements on my skin. Make any appointments with Brittany for your laser or facial services and she is by far the best. read more

I had an appointment with Brittany, and she was AMAZING! She genuinely cared about my issues and about helping me achieve the goals I had in mind. Not once did she "push" a more costly treatment on me, she laid out all my options in detail and the costs, allowed me to ask questions and decide, pressure free! The treatment was reasonably priced (especially compared to prices I was quoted when calling other offices). The only thing I took issue with was the way I heard the Front Desk Receptionist speaking to a patient on the phone. She was very rude, condescending, and the way she spoke, even made ME feel like it was a waste of her time to talk to the patient on the call. It just seemed like a huge bother to her to be handling a patient. Aside from her, I believe this is a great clinic! read more

Dr. Theriault has been taking care of my family of 5 for over a decade. My kids have had some very peculiar skin issues over the years that Dr. Theriault has been awesome at diagnosing and solving. I have been coming here for a few years now. Dr. Theriault is great- she's very personable and makes me feel comfortable here. My biggest problem with the office is that, as other reviews have said, you wait around forever. I cannot remember the last time I was actually seen within 10 minutes of my appointment time. The last time I went in, there was only one other person waiting and she was called back shortly after I got there. The receptionist then commented, in a surprised voice "there making good time today". And then I proceeded to wait about 30 minutes from when I was scheduled before I was actually seen. I only come about once a year, so it is not the biggest problem for me, also because I expect it. I also really like my doctor so it's worth it for me. But if people are coming more frequently and have other places to be, this may not be the place for you. read more

I would highly recommend the Apex Dermatology Group. I came to them looking for a solution for acne scars. I had been to another dermatologist for laser treatment for scarring and the results were not what I had expected. I came to Brittany Fielder at Apex and was very impressed with her professionalism and knowledge. She truly wanted to help me reduce the appearance of my scars since I was self-conscious about them. Brittany and Dr. Theriault were both great throughout the entire process. I just finished my laser treatment one month ago and already see great results! Why is it so difficult to find a well run doctor's office? This being my first experience with this practice, I had hope that I might have found one. Initially, everything started out fine. The nurse got me back right at my appointment time and did the normal patient history and left. I waited a good 15-20 minutes before the doctor, PA, and nurse came back in. Even though the doctor seemed nice, the appointment itself felt rushed. I had many questions pertaining to multiple issues I was having and expected an appropriate amount of time to ask them. Abruptly, the doctor stands up as if she needs to leave. They had only been in with me for maybe 15-20 minutes, when she tells me that she has another patient who's been waiting 40 minutes and she needed to go! Wow, all I can say is I am paying for this time and being a new patient I expected a little more time then that. I had wanted to have her look at my moles, but I was told I could book a separate appointment for that...isn't that why I booked the first appointment? After reading other reviews, I would have to agree that they have a problem with time management and scheduling. I will not be back to this office. read more

Do not go here for treatment! I went to Apex to have a mole biopsied and was very disappointed in the experience. I saw Leslie Mazur at the Littleton office and she was very blasé about the procedure. It seemed that she was brushing me off since I'm young (30 years old). She didn't tell me how long it would take to receive the results, and when I called the office a week later, they didn't return my call for two days. I had to call them back and leave a voicemail on the nurses line and the office managers line to get a call back. They were rude and told me to wait two weeks for results. Three weeks later I still didn't receive a call. I had to play phone tag yet again to finally get my results. They are unorganized and unprofessional. Do not waste your time or money here. read more

The appointment was incredibly rushed. I went in for a skin check because I have a history of cancer. The doctor (Dr. Theriault) barely looked me over, she did find a suspicious looking mole. She was very nice. She raved about this new tape test they are trying and stated there would be no charges since it was a new test. The doctor then put a piece of tape on my back to grab a sample and sent that to the lab. I asked during the exam to make sure there wouldn't be charges and I was told there would not be. I later received a bill for $123.35 for a 'biopsy'. Meaning I was charged $123 for someone to put tape on my back and call that a biopsy. I was also never called with results. I called two weeks later and guess what! Results were in, no one bothered to call me. Again, I have a history of cancer and 2 weeks wondering if I needed treatments again was scary. The staff was too busy gossiping in the hallways to get calls made, I guess. Incredibly disappointed. Guess I need to find a new dermatologist. read more
