Trieu Dermatology - After Dr. Trieu's care I was left with this permanent scar along my jaw line starting at my ear.

Last year, I underwent a CO2 laser procedure with Dr. Diane Trieu. She gave me minimal information…read morebeforehand--emailed instructions arrived less than 48 hours before the procedure--and she downplayed its intensity and risks. There was no mention of the need for antibiotics or the potential for a severe reaction to the aftercare sunscreen she provided. Her instructions told me on day 3 that if going outside, I must apply sunscreen. I followed these instructions using the sunscreen she provided, and 4 hours later, I got a severe contact dermatitis reaction, triggering 2 months of painful blisters and an infection that left me with a permanent scar along my jaw. Red bumps still appear randomly on my cheeks--something I never experienced before. Turns out you should not use sunscreen on a fully ablative face for at least a month because sunscreen is made for the epidermis. Worse, I learned that the sunscreen she recommended had been flagged in national studies, including a recent segment on The Today Show, for safety concerns. I now understand that not all dermatologists stay current with research or understand allergen profiles in the products they recommend. If you're considering any cosmetic skin procedure, especially those involving ablative lasers, please have a thorough consultation, review the risks in writing, and research the products prescribed to you. I trusted Dr. Trieu with my face--and I deeply regret it. Every time I look in the mirror and see this scar or the red bumps, I think of Dr. Trieu.

I was referred to this clinic through the Navy. Upon arrival, I was underwelmed. The waiting room…read moreis tiny and bland. They had a TV in there playing the same dermatology video on a loop every 7 or so minutes. I went to the window to check in 30 minutes prior to my scheduled appointment. I stood there and waited for the office assistant to help me to no avail. Finally, another lady walked up to the window and asked if I was a new patient. I was given an iPad device to check in and took my seat. To this point, I'm only disappointed with my first impression at the front desk. Now, here's where I start getting upset. I waited 58 minutes before getting called back (28 minutes past my appointment time). Then I waited 10 more minutes once I was in an examination room. When the doctor finally arrived, he spent 5 minutes with me. Despite the short examination, I must say the doctor was great. He was friendly and had a great sense of humor/bedside manner. Cons: This office is in poor shape. Damage to the walls, dirty furniture and overflowing trash in exam room. Long wait times. Pros: Doctor was nice.

Then they got out a black light, ( looked like something we decorated our rooms with in the 90's ) plugged it in by her, and then moves it in front of her face for a minute, I think, could have been 3. ( They had a sad kitchen timer to let them know when time was up.) Then they prescribed her like 5 different things, all harsh on her skin. Then bill came in, that was the funniest part. Charged me about $240 for her facial ( trying to pop pimples on her face) and around $240 for her ( can't remember what they called this one, but I think it was like a chemical treatment ( the black lights from the 90's, swiped in front of her face for 1-3 minutes ). Probably gonna call BBB on them.
