Alan Marshall the owner of the establishment is as dishonest as they come. He sold me a car that had a long history of accidents. At the time he said that this car had no accidents. When I showed him the Carfax he called me a liar and crazy and other not nice names relating to my race. I would stay away from this place at all costs. His unprofessionalism and lack of regard for his customers will leave you with an unpleasant feeling. Better off buying a car somewhere else. read more

Skip the misleading ads from private parties trying to flip their cars for a quick buck, because that's all I was experiencing before I saw Ken at Marshall Motors North. Sure they are in the business to make some money too (they operate a business after all), but these guys stand behind their product and are looking for return clients. You can't do that by ripping people off. Family owned business. You can tell they appreciate your time and are willing to go the extra mile to make sure you get set-up properly. Ken and his son Alan made the whole process for me very simple and straightforward. I told Ken what I felt and what I needed and he accommodated me. Especially not being from the area (Watertown to Beverly is a bit of a drive) he made the process seamless and going from no car, no insurance, no idea of the entire MA. process (I'm from CA.) he explained everything clearly and I was up and running (driving) in less than a week. Probably would have been sooner too if I hadn't needed to wait until the end of my work week to make the trip again! He replaced or fixed every minor detail we covered in the walk around and test drive. True to his word, they delivered on every item. Did they quote an extortionately high price like most dealers? No. Did I practically steal the car from their lot? No. But I can tell you it was a very fair deal and I was happy to walk away knowing there was mutual trust and they would stand behind their product which to me was more important. I will be writing a review when I find out facts. I went to Marshall motors to give bank check for my sons purchase of Ford Escape. Alan told my son it needed 2 front tires and some brake work. He ad he'd put tires in. When I was there he told me, yes, he was putting the front tires on yesterday afternoon. I felt as tho as soon as Alan had my bank check he had someplace else to be, I just looked at vehicle asked abt tires, shook his hand and left. He acted like it was a bother to show me the vehicle I just paid him for in full! My son had to get the tires because Alan told him they didn't have them in stock so he couldn't do it. I have bought 2 other used cars since this one for my other sons . I didn't even look at Marshall Motors North because of the experience I had . This suv I bought there has cost another 2000.00 in a year! I bought a used car since at a dealership and it's great, and a great car like new from auto plus in Amesbury and the guy did everything ! Unfriendly and rude. Besides the guy (alan) having an attitude and giving me to his "sister", who walked me down the street to show me the car and in her words "let me turn it over but not drive it". I said I want to drive it not sit in it and turn on the key. She then told me in order to drive it I need to fill out all the paperwork and tell them how I would be paying for it (only a $4500 car not like a super fancy one) . In March of 2019 I purchased a 2002 Toyota Highlander with almost 145K for my son. The family were very easy to work with and handled the sales transaction smoothly. They gave me a good price on the trade in and found outstanding financing for me. I brought the car to the Toyota dealer for servicing for a check engine light, inspection and regular service. They also replaced the value cover gasket. The dealer service technician mentioned several time how great condition the car is in. That was very encouraging to hear. Never in life have I experienced such a horrible salesman in history. After being a victim of the massive pileup of accidents in Massachusetts due to the road conditions being covered with ice however, my car was declared a total loss. Upon arrival at Marshals Motor North I was greeted by a not so friendly salesman his first question "what are your intentions for today" I assumed because I was at the car lot I wanted to purchase a car. The next question was "do you know what your FICO score is" which I felt was premature considering I hadn't even looked at the car nor had I test drove the car. I asked him if I could test drive the car and again he asked "what my intentions are" at this point my boyfriend tells him we already answered that question the salesman dismissed my boyfriend and came to me and asked the same questions needless to say he denied my request to test drive the car while getting angry stating that "it's my car I can ask whatever questions I want." "I was told I couldn't test drive the car because people come here all the time and test drive cars and never buy anything." Hmmmm I wonder why!!! ~Trust this dealership~ Having a few bad experiences from private sales and used car lots in the past, I was a bit skeptical going to a small dealership without any prior references. Allan and the team of Marshall Motors North was top notch, providing straight forward and honest evaluation of the vehicle we were looking at. This was a refreshing approach seeing that I rate used car salesmen, politicians and lawyers at about the same level of distrust. The car seemed too good to be true, low miles and priced under book value. Not wanting to loose out on a good deal we just went for it. We had a fair negotiation and even saved 7% off the original asking price. We gave them a check and a few days to prep the car. Marshall motors took care of all the registration and insurance details which was a great time saver. During the prep of the vehicle the mechanic noticed a bad tie rod end and thought the battery was substandard so they replaced both at no extra charge. Nice first impression. My wife drove the car for a week,, but one morning noticed one of the tires was low on air, and didn't want to chance driving on it. The tires looked fine when we purchased the car,, all good deep tread and solid. I removed the suspect tire and brought it in for repair. I was contacted the next day by the repair shop and they alerted me that the tire was substandard on the inside with some of the steel belt showing, and they would not repair it. I called Marshall motors and they advised me to just bring the car back and the mechanic would take a look, most importantly making sure the rim is not compromised and will hold air. In the back of my cynical mind, I assumed they would just clean the rim up and try and slap the same bad tire back on the car. I guess I kind of viewed this as a test of 'ethics' of sorts,, for this dealership. I was actually all prepared to tell them how unacceptable that would be to sacrifice the safety of the vehicle for a compromised tire, and just take the car back and go get new tires. I was very pleasantly surprised when the owner told me that they not only replaced the bad tire, but didn't advise having mismatched tires on an all wheel drive vehicle, so they replaced all four! I want to thank Marshall Motors North for restoring my faith in human kind, for doing the right thing for safeties sake and not having the dollar or profit margin make the decisions that are truly important. Plz dont expect new tires for your vehicle but do expect an honest, straight forward transaction and follow through on a good purchase experience.
