I never thought I'd find a Marshalls I really didn't like, yet here we are! The clientele should have been enough for me to immediately leave the store, I felt like I was in The Twilight Zone. My friend went to the fitting room to try some items on, so I eventually went to go view the fashion show. As I walked into the fitting room area, two employees were busy fiddling with some clothes-- I didn't know it takes two employees to hang a shirt up. As I was about to round the corner, one of them yelled at me, "Ma'am?!" So I turned back towards the counter and the employee scanned me up and down before asking if I was trying something on. I said I was not and then I was asked if I was looking for someone in the fitting room. When I said I was, the employee simply stared at me. After finally making my way to the fitting room area, the room was at least 80 degrees, perfect for trying on clothes...NOT. My friend and I promptly left the store and have no intention of ever stopping in again. read more

I have been a loyal customer to Marshalls and all its sister stores and today was a big disappointment in customer service . I happen to stumble across some stools in the back and the first one i see was marked for $30 which was great but the other 3 were marked $60 and they were all in the same condition . I asked a young lady that was working the floor being that they were all the same as far as condition would they honor the same price for them she said they should and although she was very wrong with that information I appreciated her help in bringing them to the front of the store. When i was ready to pay for my other items I went to the front and I'm not even sure if i was talking to a manager or not she told me they could not honor the lower price and basically told me that the item with the lower tag had probably been in the store for a while or came from another store so she couldn't do anything with the price. So i said i guess i wont be taking them. Which was a disappointment because I really wanted them . So as I'm leaving the store I guess she must have spoken to her co worker about me and as i pass her she says to her THERE SHE IS!! Which leads me to believe she was talking nasty about me!!! Unprofessional thats for sure and even worse if she was a manager. Too bad I didn't get her name . Needless to say make sure you check prices on things because if one if marked a different price they wont honor the lower price for both. read more

If you find yourself with the uncontrollable urge to visit this Marshall's take a few precautions. If using cash - do not bring in bills bigger than a 20 especially if you are not of Caucasian decent . It will be ran through a machine more than 3x in addition to the marker on top of a manager being called over . If you are snacking while you shop , TAPE the receipt to it because PRESENTING the receipt will not be enough, you'll still be treated like your stealing cookies and using counterfeit money. Would you like to open up a credit card with us today ? ACTUALLY can you focus on your task at hand and better customer service ? She was so busing thinking I wasn't paying for cookies & hoping my money was fake that she forgot to bag an item . I call back within an hour . ( big waste of time ) She wanted me to recite an 11 digit receipt code . - long hold - no luck Then to read to her a 23 digit numerical & alphabetical barcode to her. -long hold - no luck " oh I forgot .... since you shopped today it won't be in our system till tomorrow. Sorryyyyy " Thanx for fucking waste my life energy I only wanted to know if I could come & grab an 8$ body wash that was no longer worth this effort . PLEASE can there be a SEPARATE lane for customer service/ returns / exchange- to avoid issues like this ! PLEASE MANAGEMENT consider a monthly meeting in regards to customer service , phone skills , how to play it casual if you THINK a person is stealing cookies and has fake money !! Marshall's would do better with self service check out. Fire them all Or please make a register for exchanges only - so your not treated like a petty theft with the new items , or the old one they don't think you paid for _ AND so that you don't have to go to a DIFFERENT register and lose things that don't get bagged . And be forced to remember why you started going to TARGET in the 1st place. NOT TO MENTION- Christmas time , my sister in-law opened a box of 2 left sneakers . I pulled up the register with a cart full of items and as the cashier was ringing me up, there was a missing price tag on one of the items I had in my cart. These particular pants were in the clearance section and I had seen another pair with a tag on it but it was another size. A woman named Deepika (assuming she was a manager) said she would go to the clearance section and check. She came back with an entirely different item which was double the price and said "I found something similar". I told her the pants were half the price. She then responded with "I'll stand here. You go get it and bring it to me." With that kind of attitude I just left my cart and went home. Beware of this location. Staff is rude and disrespectful to customers. Very disappointing. read more

Yes, i am a fan! i love Marshalls and this one is a good sized store, that has a great shoe department, a good selection of home goods and i don't think i have walked in here and not walked out with a purchase. Today, i saw the J Crew plaid pumps that while, yes out of season - are never out of style. At $40 this is a fashion steal, but at a size 9 - not mine to be had today so boo! Lots of finds in here and i have had some serious bargains. Got driving moccasins in here on my last trip that are Peter Millar and were a limited edition got number 56 of 300 pairs made. these are easily a shoe that is $150 and i got them for $25. a gorgeous navy leather with silver paisley. Yeah, not everyone can pull this off, but trust me - i can :) I love this store, have loved it for 30 years. its a mainstay in my life. read more

Today I found a shirt that I liked. It was the only one on the rack. It was stained with makeup. I decided I'd still purchase the shirt if they'd be willing to offer it to me at a discount since it was dirty. I asked the cashier who then asked her manager. The manger's response was "you can wash it." She refused to sell me the shirt at a discounted rate. DUH I know I can wash it! That's why I was still going to buy it. The manager was so hell bent on not giving me a measly 10% discount ($5 for the record) that she was willing to give up the sale ENTIRELY. The rest of my clothes totaled to nearly $300 and this poor excuse of an employee refused to accommodate me and insisted that I buy a DIRTY shirt. Absolutely DISGUSTING. Extremely POOR customer service. I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!! read more

I was quite surprised with all the hype on this Marshalls. This is the only Marshalls that I've been to that has more than two stars on Yelp. Their clothing selection is good, but nothing really wowed. I did find two jackets that did look good. However, everything else is quite limited, such as the home section. All I saw were baskets, and baskets. Come on Marshalls. There are other stuff for the home besides baskets. Everything else to me was there was nothing special here. Great customer service. Always so helpful and, kind. Only only issue is the long long lines lol. BUT again no system is perfect and, it does move pretty fast. they have a great selection for the house as well as clothes. I honestly feel you can't go wrong here. I usually wait awhile before writing a review, but this one deserves to be submitted immediately. Sometimes we may forget that there are genuinely nice people in the world that are willing to do a little extra for others without looking for something in return. I wanted to purchase a picture frame as a graduation present for someone but was hesitant because of where the price sticker was placed. I figured that after eventually getting the price sticker off, I would be left with a beautiful frame that was cheapened by the awkward appearance of residue in the far right corner. I tried to get the sticker off, but sure enough, the residue was left behind. She offered me suggestions on how to remove the residue myself but my schedule really wouldn't allow me the time to see if it would work. She then offered to go in the back room to see if she could get it off herself. The end result was an amazingly clear picture covering to go with its frame! Thank you so much, Pam, for your assistance. I hope that your managers know how important those small gestures are and how special you are to their team. read more

Has become my goto store, I find that this Marshall's keeps a good stock. Went to the store after looking at Macy's website for there lowest prices of the season sale. The majority of things that I had in my online cart for. Macy's I found in store for a equal or cheaper price. Names that they tend to have in stock are Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Náutica. Racks are neat and looked to be color coded for the most part which I liked. read more

I have been to marshalls multiple times, but this paat time I was quite disappoined. I love them, and I probably go visit a marshalls or TJ Maxx once a week or every other week, but after this past time I might not go back. I bought a pair of shoes, they were high heeled boots, and I wore them once. After not even the one wear the zipper broke. I am crushed and now I just wasted a good $40 on nothing. I went back to a different store location they said that they simply could not do anything. I am devestated, but I will be taknig a break on visiting them for a decent amount of time. This particular Marshalls is well stocked and nicely ordered. It's not a zoo of a place, and everything is mostly easy to find and well organized. The lines usually go by rather quickly, even when it suddenly gets long. read more

What has happened to this store? For years it was my favorite Marshall's, but for the last few months it has become a junk heap. True designer pieces are hard to find, the furniture section is an abomination, and the rest of the store is, more often than not, in a messy shambles. I love Marshalls - there is one near my house and would go weekly when I was home. This Marshalls, however, is not like the one in East Hanover. They have a good selection of shoes and pretty good prices, but their selection and quality of clothes is inferior to what I have experienced at other stores. The clothes are all ripped and of terrible quality. I have never been so disappointed in the selection as I was here. On the bright side, they have extremely cheap sweater tights/stockings/socks and buy them there all the time. Also, their bag selection is sorted by color and there are tons of bags/purses. read more

This is actually a great Marshall's -- probably one of the best ones I've ever been to. The selection here is very good. I do wish they had a better Polo selection but it's one of the few that actually sell Suits, blazers and Men's shoes. It's an impressive selection all around. A few negatives: 1. The complex this store is a part of is totally hectic. There's always people flying in and out of it and it's actually tough to enter and exit. 2. The store can be unkept at times but I think that's only because there are so many people in at all times. 3. The checkout line takes forever. Not enough registers or people working. Way too long. Overall, even with the negatives, I do like this place because the men's selection is great. It's worth dealing with some of the nonsense. read more

Amazing experience! I went with a few of my friends in search for new boat shoes and the person on shift in the shoe section, Austin was extremely helpful. I purchased a VW California at £45K in Jul 2020, and was only able to use it for six days, due to a seriously leaking roof when raining! Due to the dealership not being able to deal with 'warranty' issues, or these types of repairs, VW Bristol cannot deal with this for 8 weeks. This will mean I have a California that cannot be used for 9/10 weeks in all, and I have cancelled three holidays, and I am about to go on a fourth one which I will have to hire a California for at the cost of £130 per day; or alternatively cancel another holiday. Marshalls did nothing until week 6, when a poor review prompted them to contact me. Marshalls made no offer of suitable loan vehicle, or compensation for loss of personal items or cancelled holidays. Recently they have offered a people carrier which will not resolve my issues, or allow me to take my holiday, so I will now have to hire a California at the cost of £130 per day! I am a big fan of Marshall's. Almost always come out with a bargain. My latest find we're Havaiana flip flops. Their shoe selection is excellent and I sometimes have to avoid the store just so I don't buy any more shoes, especially in the Chester shop. Returns are easy. read more
