I get a kick out of some of these reviews. You're in Marshalls. You're not in Bloomingdales. Don't shop there if you want Fifth Avenue service. It's a fun store to walk around and buy something you didn't know you needed. Don't go there if you are looking for something specific. It's a store where you just stumble into a find. In the back of the infamous Walmart parking lot lies the new Marshalls... well not super new, was built up a few years back. Ok, so when I first heard they were building a Marshall's near by I got super excited. I always loved the "Marshall's / Home goods" kinda stores. I do frequent here on many occasions. I would like to honestly give this store a 3.5 Star review but I opted to rate up. This store looks like my closet, if my closet was 10,000sq feet. Everything is just kinda thrown everywhere. There are different departments but... like... not really. I feel like this is on the smaller end of what a Marshall's should be. The selection is very limited for the housing department and the shelves are, for a lack of better argument, an "organized mess". I usually go to Marshall's for my bedding sometimes, however this Marshall's bedding section is very small. Definitely a good place to pop in for a last minute gift idea, just be prepared to wait on line for 10-15 mins. read more

I rarely go to Marshalls but once in a blue moon, will stop by because I need an emergency pant or shirt for whatever reason. The other night, I stopped by Marshalls for pants and found a very nice messenger bag without a Marshalls price tag (but it had the original tag MSRP $295.00). After wandering the store looking for an associate, I finally found one and asked if she can kindly find out the price for me. She looked at me as if I had six heads and went to the section with the bags. I told her this was the last one. She than picked another bag with an MSRP of $220.00 and clearly told me "we look for a comparably priced item and price match it". She than took the bag to the register while I shopped around for a few more minutes. When I get to checkout, I am confronted by a cashier and a manager that was on the phone with what seemed like a 'price finding' department. I restated what the sales associate said on the floor; he looks dead in my eyes, starts laughing, and says "I'm not gonna sell you a $300 bag for $50". He said he would sell it to me for $150. I declined, and at this point, I just wanted to leave; so I check out with what I need and leave. The next day, a family member of mine that I sent a picture of the bag to just so happened to go to the Marshalls in West Caldwell; where she just so happened to find the same bag (last one) for $50 on clearance. It really is sad, because other than the reviews here, I see people mistreated in the Garfield location every time I go there. The associates, the cashiers, and now the managers are just the worst people that I have ever interacted with. Also, last I checked, these aren't privately owned locations; prices should be the same everywhere. read more

I find because this Marshall's is brand new it's not as hectic as others. What I'm very glad about is there isn't clothes everywhere shoved in racks and return carts everywhere. The shoe collection could be larger but hey. Can't have the best of both worlds right. The cashier was very pleasant. Her name is Colleen. Very kind and helpful. This is my last time going to this location , rude and unprofessional employees, does not know how to treat customers , I was buying a shirt that had different price tag on it and that stupid lady that works there blamed me for it and said I picked this tag of off other shirt that it cost less and then put it on the shirt I was going to purchase and when I said it's your guys error she called me a LIER , Like what I make a week each of their employee need one whole year of work to make . read more

Was treated horribly by the blond haired cashier there. I put the shoes I found on so that I could break them in as I was walking throughout the store. When I got to her, I said "Can you scan the box because I have the shoes on now?" and she replied nastily, "No, take the shoes off." My friend who was with me forgot to bring her wallet and asked if the store could hold the outfit until tomorrow morning, and the cashier replied, "You have to come the earliest and you have to be here first to get it or else I will give it to someone else." She was very rude and impolite. The man and woman behind us were going to get this woman after us, but they went to the other cashier and said, "I am not going to this lady" when they were walking. If you see a shorter blond haired woman that has an accent as a cashier, I would suggest counting your number in line to make sure you don't get her. read more
