Staff are always nice but there has never been more than 2 registers open at a time and most of the time it's just one. They have a huge selection of books....all kinds including children's books. I buy for my kids here all the time. It's just hard to find if you are looking for something specific. They keep up with items from the current season which is nice. Some prices are better than other stores bur some are not. If you sign up to be a member you get emails about current items, discounts on your order and invitations to special events. You don't want to see pictures....it's not pretty but is worth the trip if you have time to look around.

After looking around, I think they've done it. For essentials and things you didn't know you needed until you see it here, this place has got it covered. The name of this store sums it up -- a lot of dollar items and dollar or more-plus things, but none were over-priced compared to comparable places. The last thing asked as I left the store was if I was looking for anything in particular, because he'd order it. Everyone who came in was offered a basket for shopping and if they needed it, assistance in finding something. If it wasn't here, he said he'd order it and for that person to come back next week. I arrived at 4:15 pm and the store was closed. Not only had I wasted a trip, I couldn't give the gift I purchased because the recipient was going out of town on Saturday. When I went in today I was told they were closed for the holiday and I said I came in Friday, which she then told me they were closed Friday. That's actually impossible because the receipt says July 3, 2026 and pick up 1:45. They're happy to take your money but don't stay true to their hours. There was no mention of closing early, no sign on the window/door. Just be careful because the only refund they offer is a store credit! Had they contacted me, I might have been able to make it up there by 2pm. Unfortunately this is just BAD customer service.

I found a few things I needed and I ended up with about 10 items. I wasn't sure if the prices were good or not because I don't really keep track of that stuff when I shop. so I go to check out and there's 10 people in line and only one person doing checkouts. There were several staff in the store so I don't understand why some weren't transferred to the checkout. I left my cart and went to Walmart.

A bit disconcerting, almost like a black Friday experience! Right when you walk in you see shoes and then a discounted clothing rack. There are so many racks of clothing! They also had a nice selection of books, artwork, and housewares. All of the employees (volunteers?) were very nice and welcoming and helpful. Truly one of the friendliest thrift stores I have been to. The only things I didn't like were how busy it was but it is awesome so I guess it's only fair that so many people love it. I am glad I did, as Cat Angels Thrift Store is the perfect local thrift spot. I am forever looking for lowkey, under the radar-type thrift shops, and this one fits the bill. The space is quite small and well-organized. There are racks of clothing along the walls and a shoe cubby. I really appreciate how neat everything was, and how the clothing was reliably sorted by size. It made the browsing experience really enjoyable. There were lots of unique pieces and good materials. I ended up snagging a pair of Sam Edelman boots for under $20, and they were in great condition. There is a stamp card available as well! You get a stamp for each shopping trip over $20. Once you fill the card, you get $$ off your next purchase (I forget the amount off the top of my head). I am glad that money goes towards a no-kill cat shelter, and will definitely shop/donate here going forward.

Although I needed only one item and found it quickly, I spent more time perusing. What I saw was every available spot filled with toys. The manager mentioned the toy fair in a couple of weeks and after that, what little space was available now would be crammed with new things. That will be yet more bad news. Nearly everything was reasonably priced, less than in competing stores and in fact, I didn't notice a lot of duplication with things available in chain box stores. That makes The Toy Shoppe good for picking up something different. I didn't see any board games or jigsaw puzzles, unfortunately, but since I can get those anywhere, I'm okay with not finding them here. Perhaps they'll show up later. Despite escaping from The Toy Shoppe with only one item, I saw enough, like balsa planes, classic harley motorcycle models, and what looks to be the first of a train collection, to know I'll be visiting again. The Toy Shoppe, a classic mom-and-pop shop, is worth a visit when needing an escape from the madison-avenue marketing hype for toys.

We walked in and not only does the middle age creepy looking guy not look up from his computer, he doesn't even acknowledge we were there. We were looking for something particular, and didn't see it. When we asked this guy, he again did not even look up from the computer, and in a sarcastic tone filled with contempt, like we had the nerve to ask, says, "We don't carry that here, you'll have to go to a big box store!!!" So we left and as soon as we get out the store my daughter asks "did you smell his breath?" We both laughed and went to the "big box" store to get our item.
