I normally enjoy shopping at this Marshalls, and I visit often since it's close to my gym. However, I've had two experiences recently that were upsetting.
First, there is an older cashier who repeatedly pressures me to sign up for the Marshalls credit/rewards card. Each time I politely decline, but she insists and makes guilt-based comments like "That's a shame, you come every day." After that, she becomes dismissive and seems unwilling to help. It makes the checkout experience uncomfortable.
Second, I attempted to return a dress with two receipts. When neither receipt matched the item, the associate asked for my driver's license and issued a merchandise credit. After the refund was already processed, two other employees suddenly stepped in, grabbed the dress, examined the tag, and told me the item could not be returned. This was confusing and embarrassing. If the item wasn't returnable, it should have been checked before processing the refund, not after.
I'm leaving this review so management is aware. The store is nice, but the customer service on these visits was disappointing. I hope these issues can be improved so shopping here feels welcoming again. read more
