Today was my first time visiting. I had a gift card and was planning to make a purchase, but all of the staff either ignored me or were rude. Every time I looked at an item and placed it back down, a staff member would come and act like they were making a micro adjustment as if I put the item back incorrectly, but no adjustment was made. There were a few cute items, but honestly, many items were more tacky than classic pieces which stand the test of time. There is one female staff member upstairs that is so incredibly RUDE. Was completely ignored and then snapped at by her in the dressing room for... asking for a dressing room. Yet, she still asked me to come to her if I wanted to make a purchase. Comical. read more

My wife always loves to visit a Saks fifth Avenue whenever we come upon one. No difference at this location and she immediately found a hat that she loved. The staff was wonderful on each visit to the store. When we first arrived with our three dogs and two strollers one of the staff members came over to ask if they could pet the dogs and talk to us. Very pleasant. Each time as well it was usually the dogs first and then us. The items in the stores are always top-of-the-line and you will pay for it. read more

It's a brand new Saks! What's not to love. Saks is always high ends with a great sales staff. I've had personal shoppers score some great finds for me when the go on sale. The selection of designer duds is good for a smaller Saks. This store is not as large as some of the others I have been to. I'm only giving 4 stars because there is no Chanel or Louis boutique. There is NOWHERE to get these In Sarasota, so I'm not sure why Saks doesn't have them. read more

Very unsatisfied with my experience at Saks Fifth Avenue. My fiancé and I went into Saks to find her a swimsuit. From the moment we walked in we felt like we were being observed yet we weren't being helped. We went downstairs and my fiancé picked out a swimsuit that she liked. She then found a female associate and asked her if there was a place she could try the suit on. We were told we had to take it to the Women's department on the second floor. When we got upstairs with the swimsuit we were immediately approached by a female sales associate. Who asked if we needed help. I told her my fiancée would like to try this swimsuit on. The associate showed my fiancée to the changing room. Followed her into the changing area. Then came out a few minutes later and stood with me. Although we exchanged somewhat forced pleasantries I couldn't figure out why the associate felt it necessary to stand awkwardly by my side. Every 60 seconds or so the associate would say some variation of "well she's taking a long time" to which I explained that my fiancée was wearing several items of clothing when she went in there. She has to take them all off and put this suit on and then reassemble herself and obviously that takes a few minutes. Regardless of my explanation, the associate made this comment two more times over the next two or three minutes. So I walked off into the Women's section and found a coverup that might go well with the swimsuit. When my fiancée came out she tried to come right to me to discuss the item. The associate cut her off and asked how it was. My fiancé said it was fine. Then proceeded to talk to me. But this associate wouldn't cut us a break or give us any privacy to discuss anything about the potential purchase. When I told my fiancé I found a cover up that might work well with the suit and walked her to it the associate walked with us. We felt so uncomfortable we just purchased the item and left. After we left the store we went to Starbucks where I said to my fiancée that "I felt so uncomfortable in that store. At first no one would help us even though several associates eyed us in their departments like we were going to steal something. Then when we had an item in our possession we couldn't get a breath of air because the sales associate was so worried she was going to loose her commission". My fiancée agreed with me. The experience was so off putting that my fiancé never even opened the Saks bag and returned the item purely on principal a few days later. We will never shop there again. To put this into perspective. My fiancé is 25. She is Italian and was dressed in a sporty outfit. I am caucasian, 29. I was wearing shorts and a Calvin Klein t-shirt. On that particular day it's possible that neither of us looked like we could afford a $200 swimsuit. Yet my fiancé is a full time fitness model who travels all over the US and Europe modeling and has a huge social media following. I am the Vice President of marketing and public relations for a media production company. We felt like the employees of this store were extremely judgmental. Stereotyping us based on a combination of our age and attire as not being worth helping or worse as potential thieves. Then once there was a potential to make even a small commission the associate wouldn't leave us alone for fear of loosing the sale to another employee. This store was literally worse then a used car dealership. An uninviting elitist store that is filled with snobby workers. No wonder retail stores are dying and the online marketplace is thriving. . . read more

Love shopping at the SFA. For me, it's the most luxury filled shopping spot to shop. I remember years ago when it first opened at being dazzled by the selections. I still am ! Recently, I stopped in to look at some Tod's moccasins and the woman who assisted me was so wonderful. They did not have the style I wanted and she took the time to locate them from Dallas and have them shipped to me. The store is always fairly crowded as it is the best place here in town for luxury items- Gucci, Prada, Chanel, to name a few. I also think they have a great fragrance counter and my kids often go here to find specialty perfumes and things like that. The parking is easy to navigate as there is plenty. And, they also have valet if you want this. All in all, great experience at this Saks. read more

Honestly, this place isn't too bad. Every once in a while they have things I like, and I drop between $500-$1500 when I shop. However, today I noticed a "face masks required for entry" sign. So I simply walked around to the other mall's entrance, and figure I'll buy the pants I want online from a different store. I know this store is struggling financially anyways, and ya know what? I live almost an hour north of this Saks and was there yesterday. I'm moving to Nashville where there isn't a Saks. The salesperson gave me the wrong product (cosmetics) and I will not be getting down there to exchange/return it. I called online. They're separate entities. So, I will need to go to Brandon (35 mis north) to hopefully get the right product. In order to return the product to Saks, I will have to buy a padded envelope, pay to ship, and wait in line at the post office. I don't know if or when I'll have time to squeeze this into my busy schedule. The salesperson was absolutely no help. Customer service was awful. I originally went in to Saks because they carry La Prarie. The salesperson brought me over to Lancome for possibly something better for my purposes. I should have thanked her for her assistance (she was helpful) and walked over to Sephora to buy it. ... A mess. Will not shop Saks ever again. The terrible customer service and inconvenient policies tell me that, even in times when retail is suffering to online purchasing, they don't care about their customers or loyalty. ... Saks would do well to look at other stores who do it right. Update: I decided to stop in for a La Prairie product and a different salesperson was fabulous, on two separate occasions, so I added two stars. read more

I enjoy having an upscale store nearby that carries many designers, not everything but most. It is probably not the store of choice for those who don't want to spend $500 or more for those great Jimmy Choos. But coming from Chicago, hey I love them and more. ALways network with 1 salesperson and get early notifications/pictures for upcoming sales. Loreno in Shoes is awesome, or Bonnie. Nothing like getting spoiled while u shop, they will bring you champagne.. Yummy..Just ask, as long as you're a serious buyer and not a freeloader looking for a bubbly. Love this store.. I live about 45 minutes away from this Saks. I go there mainly for fragrances and sometimes for cosmetics. I am a huge Jo Malone fan and both Jeff and Cynthia are very knowledgeable , patient , Jo Malone Associates. I originally started my collection with Jeff. Saturday Cynthia sat with me and I completed my collection (for now) she is personalizing a combing chart with my original purchases and the new ones I bought and putting it in the mail today. I have also worked with Karen Cook in Fragrances who introduced me to my favorite Prada fragrance . I purchased my second bottle Saturday . ( I bought the larger bottle) . All of these Specialists were overtly helpful, friendly, and knowledgeable . I enjoyed my day ! read more

The death of shopping centers came quite clearly during my last visit at Saks 5th Avenue. Finding the right birthday present for my wife was the occasion. After carefully selecting several items, a very helpful sales person proceeded to ring up the sale. 30 minutes later, a local check, on a local bank with multiple credit cards and local driver's license was not adequate to finalize the sale. The manager and two sales associates could not tell me why it was taking so long or how much longer it would take. Paying by check was my way of keeping the purchase a surprise. With multiple options on the web for purchasing the same items, the experience cured me of ever wanting to go back to a shopping center and especially Saks. read more
