I went in this afternoon (Sunday April 2nd) to try and find some actual gold bracelets to wear to events I have coming up the next few weeks. The manager/supervisor in the jewelry section with the dark brown ponytail immediately came up to me and asked if she could help me only when I compared a bracelet to my wrist in the mirror. I guess she thought I was going to steal something? How dare I use the mirror that's literally in the jewelry section to look at jewelry against my skin. When I asked her a question she stood on her hip twirling her key ring or badge or whatever acting impatient, offering me no actual help. She stood 4 feet away and watched me blatantly the rest of the time I browsed the jewelry section, though. Sure kept that area of the store safe from sales. I took a picture of the type of bracelet that looked best on me; I'll buy it somewhere else. There are ways to be tactful while preventing shoplifting. Following a customer through the jewelry section at a 4 foot distance is intimidation, not surveillance. Not worth the stress to shop for jewelry here. On another note, the manager of the sunglasses section was great and I desperately wanted a pair to look good on me so I could buy them from her. Wish the other manager compared. read more

Service was terrible. They helped me pick a ring out for my birthday on April 20th. With only wearing it a couple times a week this is still what it looked like before the end of summer. Today I visited this location and received horrible, offensive imprudent service. This complaint is directed towards the service I received from the team leader masquerading around as the " Store manager herself, Deeny or Jeany, or Geany , who took my order ( we asked her for the manager. Whereby she rudely replied, " You're looking at her!" We later learned from other staff that she is NOT the store manager, but in fact like a team leader or something like a supervisor.). The store manager Jeany was rude, passive aggressive, sarcastic and at times demeaning towards me. I would proceed to say something, she would repeat it and look at me like I was an idiot. She told me to speak slower and slow down (even though I wasn't speaking fast). At one point during the order, I actually asked her if something I said offended her because she was incredibly rude to me. After both transactions, I also placed the order from her I received several rude glares from her behind the counter and what may have appeared to be her gossiping to other employees about it. I can't fathom her being a position of leadership, it's abundantly clear the negative ambience she has created in the store in comparison to other positive upbeat Macy's employees in dresses and shoes in the area. Towards the end of my visit my husband and I told her how offended and displeased I was with the way she treated me and all she said was "I'm sorry you feel that way,, but where are you from originally? I ignored her bazaar question, then she walked away. This is probably the worst Macy's I have even been to, and to receive poor treatment from store manager nonetheless is absolutely pitiful. The way she made eye contact, the tone of her voice and the level of sheer disrespect illustrates poor customer service skills. I am forwarding complaints to corporate and district manager of Macy's , to await their response. Deeny or Geany needs to be in serviced or FIRED as she does not belong in a high end store! I have been a Macys customer for the past 15 years and had purchased many pieces of jewelry from them. I tried to return rings that I ordered online to the fine jewelry counter on 1/7/2023 at around 11 am at the Macys in Sarasota at the University Mall. There were 3 women associates, one of whom was a jewelry manager. They refused my return and were interrogating me about the merchandise, treating me like a criminal. I had to drive to another Macy's 40 miles away to do the return, where the lady at that counter took my return with respect and no questions asked!! read more

I used to be a hard core Macy's shopper. I loved the choices, the customer service, and those beautiful red boxes.... Today...I am switching brands. Today we went to Macy's and we were completely disappointed. Clothing laying on the floor in heaps. We could not find a sales person. Extremely disappointed in cleanliness of Macy's. Trash EVERYWHERE- Trash on the floor, trash in the fitting rooms, trash on the counters. I was disgusted with this store. To top it off I went to the fitting room and noticed a TON of dust clumps everywhere on the floor...well, I looked up at the ceiling and it looks like they haven't cleaned the vents in years. Went to use my Macys card so my mum could get a discount and then pay with her debit card for the dress that she wanted. However the young lady working there said she couldn't do it and said that, "the system wouldn't let her". When just 4 days ago I made a purchase at a Macy's in Houston using my Macys card for the discount and my debit card for the payment. Not to mention I work at Macy's and know for a fact that you can make a payment that way. She had an unruly attitude and instead of getting help to do the transaction she insisted on arguing that you couldn't do it. Work customer assistance ever. Had the pleasure of checking out this brand new Macy's that just opened today! A key department store at the new University Town Center/Mall, this location is huge! Really nice as you could imagine and definitely designed to look more upscale than most Macy's locations. This is most likely due to the fact that this new mall is aimed at the growing affluent communities that surround it. Other than its look, everything else is exactly what you'd expect it to be. We stopped in to pick up some items for our friends wedding registry where we were greeted and helped by Zach M. Beautiful new store but the staff is very rude. i purchased a pair of shoes for my husband. The lady was not friendly and did not check the size. When I got home a half hour away I had one 10 size one 11 size and two left feet. When I went to take them back at another mall that was closer, they told me they don't carry that shoe and could not take it back. They looked at me like it was my fault. I learned to double check myself when I shop at these Macy stores. It was a very disappointing experience. Also, they will not honor a coupon unless you have it printed out and hand it to them. I don't even know where to begin, I remember the days when I worked for Macy's when I was younger and we were there for every customer that walked in the door. I've been with my mother to Macy's in the UTC mall countless times and every single time we go we never get any help, we can never find anyone if we do their standing around talking with other employees, my mom doesn't have a lot of money but she spends a lot of money, she has that silver credit card or whatever it is one of the big credit cards Macy's offers and when she wants to shop she shops big time the last time we went we were going to a family wedding it was a week ago she spent over 1,500 in the store that day on Dresses, shoes, purses etc. and do you know who did the sale work ME, there were four ladies in the dressing room going to different events it was in the very dressy dress section I help them, went out and found them the dresses because there was no one available, and who got that sale? a sales person that was standing at the register‍ happy I could make her commission for her. We went to Dillards after that because I needed a pair of shoes I couldn't find a pair in Macy's. The minute we walked into Dillards we went to the women's shoe department there was someone there to greet us she took beautiful care of us we walked around the store for various different small items that we had forgotten in Macy's, everyone was wonderful! I cannot believe the difference in Macy's and Dillards, I don't know what's happened to that Store, I'm embarrassed to say that I ever work there. We went back yesterday because we needed to get my daughter and son clothing as well mom spent about $700 getting pants and shirts and a dress for my daughter and shoes, I Finally found someone after searching, was a very nice young man named Michael and he helped us with my son. We thanked him. then we went up to the dress department once again there was no one around, where in the nice cocktail dress area, I went around, my daughter went around, we went and picked out the clothing ourselves my daughter finally found the dress she wanted and there was a lady standing at the register again she didn't do anything she never even came over and helped us, went down to the shoe department and I think at that time my mom and had enough and my mom is a very quiet person she just lost her husband Two weeks ago it's very hard to have to go to this family wedding just going through a death, I think she has just about had enough when we walked into the shoe department and they were two sales girls over there chitchatting just looking at us and not approaching us and where they are trying to get shoes and I got my daughter sitting down and I'm trying the shoes on her ( she's pregnant) I'm on the floor doing it myself my mom actually yelled across the room to them to get somebody over, I went over later on and did apologize to the lady that was in the department with the two girls and I explained to her what was going on with my mom but I did say that no one approached us we have been looking at shoes for quite a while and trying on shoes for quite a while. Had to add that in there too. I think we're gonna be Dillards customers from now on, I told my mom to cut up her Macy's Credit Card finish paying it off and we're going to Dillard's from now on and she agreed with me it's too bad Macys has lost our business, They used to be a store I was proud of, I gave two stars because of the young man that helped us. read more
