I had to return a couple of things from the Riverhead store, so thought that I'd try this store. The clearance section was REALLY picked over, so slim pickings. I did find a couple of sweaters. I didn't want to have to return anything else, so tried everything on this time. Found a fabulous barn jacket and a quilted navy jacket. I love the thrill of the hunt at discount stores. While I will probably never top the $99 Armani jacket that i found long, long ago at TJ Maxx on 14th Street, hope springs eternal. And cashmere for $60 or less is pretty good. Shoe selection is generally meh, so I never bother to look, most of the time. Too much PU and lower-quality mainstream brands. I have found Jack Rogers, but that was rare.

Everything is cheaper at Costco, including gasoline. I fill-er-up here sometimes. Today an associate pre-scanned the items in my cart before I arrived at the check-out counter. The shoes were near the front of the store so it's very convenient. The selection was wide ranging from inexpensive to expensive, and athletic to formal. I like that concept, so many great products I see disappear from the dollar stores as they become a little too expensive to sell anymore. This Family Dollar carries a very wide selection of just about anything you might need. I was surprised at the amount of Christmas and Holiday decorations. You could probably say 50% or more shopping here as compared with how much the item is in the supermarket. Shopping experience here is easy and organized. This Store is very large. You can select from clothing to grocery, cookware, housewares. The items and merchandise offered are always a little different, I like that was it prevents the selection from becoming stale. They always have the good old standby's and back to school supplies. The shelves and displays were very neat and well-organized. I made the mistake of going into this place open minded. First thing I noticed was how well organized and clean this store was. Seeing everything in its place makes you feel like they care about the Store. Second the staff was unbelievably friendly. They greeted me walking in and even asked if I needed help. I didn't think customers service existed anymore. Third and certainly not least, they have ever name brand here for less! I mean a lot less! They have Planters honey roasted nuts for $2.75. I pay $4.99 at Best Market. They also have shampoo, soap, laundry detergent, and of course the spatula I was looking for at a fraction of the price. I'm a CVS guy always have and will be. But if I need to save from time to time or get peanuts, you can bet I will go to Family Dollar!
