The Lindbergh Center Station is one of the above ground stations. It's the last station before red and gold line actually separate so beware of that, don't fall asleep hahaha. They don't have a wall sculpture like most, but they do have a nice multi colored stained glass that gives a little life to the station, instead of the normal grim looking gray.

This is the 6th stop for Marta on the Red Line going Southbound (downtown or airport) It's the 5th stop on the gold line (Southbound) This is also a transfer station for those switching to the red or gold line. Here are some useful information on which line to get on... If you're going to North Springs, Sandy Springs, Dunwoody, Medical or Buckhead-you need to get on the train for red line. If you're going to Doraville, Chamblee, Brookhaven or Lenox- you need to get on the train for the gold line. If you're going to the airport just stay on this train and ride it all the way to the end (approx. 28 minutes with 13 stops) Marta's Gold Line stops are: 1. Doraville 2. Chamblee 3. Brookhaven 4. Lenox 5. Lindbergh Center (joins the red line) 6. Arts Center ** 7. Midtown ** 8. North Avenue ** 9. Civic Center ** 10. Peachtree Center ** 11. Five Points ** 12. Garnett ** 13. West End ** 14. Oakland City ** 15. Lakewood/Ft. McPherson ** 16. East Point ** 17. College Park ** 18. Airport ** **indicates this stop is on both the red and gold line Marta's Red Line stops are of the following: 1. North Springs 2. Sandy Springs 3. Dunwoody 4. Medical Center 5. Buckhead 6. Lindbergh Center (joins gold line) ** 7. Arts Center ** 8. Midtown ** 9. North Avenue ** 10. Civic Center ** 11. Peachtree Center ** 12. Five Points ** 13. Garnett ** 14. Westend ** 15. Oakland city ** 16. East point ** 17. College Park ** 18. Airport ** **indicates this stop is on both the red and gold line Some helpful information: Marta is $2.50 per one way trip. $9.00 for a one day pass $14 for 2 days children under 46" ride for free. (limit 2 per one adult) $1.00 for seniors, disabled riders and medicare recipients For more information on fares and Marta stations itsmarta.com/Default.aspx This station has about 2,500 available parking spaces so you shouldn't have any problems finding a free parking spot. It's free if you're parking less than 24 hrs. It's $8.00 a day for long term (this includes your 1st day). (You want to make sure you validate your parking ticket inside the train station) Also parking is off of Sidney Marcus behind Marta's HQ. Just type this into your GPS: 740 Sidney Marcus Blvd NE Atlanta, GA 30324. It'll get you to the parking decks. FYI- College Park, Doraville, Lindbergh and North Springs stations are all $8.00 long term parking. Brookhaven, Dunwoody, Kensington, Lenox and Sandy Springs are all $5.00 for long term parking. In terms of being pedestrian friendly I think Lindbergh station is one of the walk-able. There are lots of food, shopping, grocery store and even a laundromat all with less than 10 minutes walk. Some of the businesses nearby include: Target, Krogers, Chick Fil A, Arby's, 3 Starbucks (one inside Target and Kroger), Home Depot, Dunkin Donuts, Chills and Taco Mac. This is a pretty decent transit hub. I had to go somewhere that the train didn't go so Google Maps said to come to Lindbergh and transfer to the #5 bus. I do what Google Maps tells me, so took the train here and found the bus departure area. Once you're above ground, the bus area is well marked and there are little "gates" for each bus route. However, from the train level, there could be better signage to direct you to the exit that will put you out right by the buses without having to walk in an uncovered area. This is helpful when it is raining. The bus area is covered and well marked, so I was easily able to get on my bus and get to my destination. The area around this transit hub looked kind of nice, much nicer than some of the bus hubs in my hometown of NYC. I found it useful, clean and easy to use.

I used the Marta train while visiting Atlanta. It is wonderful for getting around. Having a stop at the airport makes things much easier. The Lindbergh stop allows switching trains. You don't even have to leave the platform to switch from the red to gold line.

Very nice station. I love the restaurants around this station. The station itself is pretty clean and multi levels. Access to At&t and Marta Headquarters. All trains can be caught here. Doraville, North Springs and Airport. Never had an issue at this station.

Lindbergh station is clean. They have a station for your bike located outside that has a pump and many tools and was walking distance to taste of Atl (tech square). Got my ticket validated. Easy parking.

The difficulty of driving the combined I-85/75 through the midst of town at high rates of speed is dreaded & avoided by most out of towners. In the midst of 80mph bumper to bumper traffic, it's difficult for those not familiar with the correct exit lane. When my middle aged son, who has lived in NYC for decades, had a business trip to Atlanta he rented a car. On his return trip to the airport I asked if he planned to go through the middle of town or around the perimeter highway. He responded "the middle of town". I chuckled mentally waiting to hear his reaction. When I finally asked, the NYC driver responded "They go fast.....REALLY fast!" With MARTA you avoid this. There was controversy before construction regarding the counties that would participate in MARTA. In the beginning only Atlanta/Fulton County participated. My 2nd apartment complex on Piedmont Road was new when my roommates and I moved in during 1972. The complex was demolished to build the Lindbergh MARTA station. By that time I was living in East Cobb. But old pictures still provide remembrances of that place in its earlier time. The system has created such easy and fast access, avoiding the traffic congestion that had always been a part of Atlanta. Park & Ride lots provide for riders who aren't in walking distance. Decades after I moved to Coastal Virginia I took my then teenage son to see a musical theatre production at the gorgeous Fox Theater. I chose a hotel close to the Fox. We were able to get onto MARTA inside the airport and exit within a block of our hotel. We walked to the Fox and nearby restaurants. We took MARTA to my longtime shopping center of choice, Lenox Square. Treating him to a hot dog at the legendary Varsity Restaurant was easy with MARTA. Navigating around Atlanta was so easy without a vehicle. It's been over a decade since I last visited the place in which I spent my early adulthood. Still dear to my heart, I'd love to see the expansion of the MARTA line and the conveniences it has added.

We actually found an exit closer to our hotel, without having to walk up hill. SCORE!!! The station looks clean and feels pretty safe. I agree that it's a bit dark but I kind of think it adds to the charm a bit. I love the monitors that let you know when the next train is coming. The escalators are interesting to say the least. They do take forever but they are very long and better than having to walk up 4 flights of stairs, especially with baggage. And once we found the exit that didn't involve a hill, the escalator in that area was a bit shorter.

Because of this, it's the busiest train station, based on entries and exits, in the MARTA system. Employees try to keep this station clean, but with so many train riders passing through, the station is sometimes dirty. I personally have been in this station only to transfer to another train going in a different direction, and have never physically entered or exited the station using the gates. In this station, the north/south trains of the Red line and the north-east/south trains of the Gold line run on the tracks in the lower level. The east/west trains of the Green and the Blue lines run on the tracks in the upper level. Multiple escalators, stairways and elevators allow MARTA customers to move from one level to the other. Just a word of caution: If you're slow moving and you're transferring to another level, wait until most of the crowd gets ahead of you. Otherwise, you may get pushed and jostled by people hurrying to get by you. This is especially true if you're transferring to another train either before or after an event at either State Farm Arena, Mercedes-Benz Stadium or Georgia World Congress Center. Signage is accurate and helpful, but you have to know in which direction you want to travel to prevent confusion. Electronic signs in the stations let riders know the approximate remaining wait times for the arriving trains. A PA announcement lets everyone in the station which train is arriving. Both levels in this station are well lit, and there are few concrete benches to sit on while waiting for trains to arrive.
