I use this Marta Station for convenience when I volunteer in downtown Decatur. Straight shot for me…read moreno transfer or bus. The free parking is a plus. 2 parking lots one on MLKing dr and the other right by I-20. Off Hamilton E. Holmes dr. (Actual street name i have no idea and I'm from Atlanta and I pass it every day to and from work) I get a Breeze card from the kiosks along the walls when you come in. From either side of station. Ioad mine with 2 trips $5.00. This is cheaper than Uber/Lyft. Only down is depending on Rush hour tines morning or afternoon it can get crowded like a sardine can. Not to mention rude rowdy younger generation. I will continue to use Marta it is Smarter.

Please either get a gun lock case or don't leave your weapon in your vehicle. I normally carry mine but you can't do that at the Dome. Just be aware it's savage downtown right now. I'm taking Uber from now on or parking valet!

When we first got off the train, we didn't look at the signs and just exited to the street so we ended up walking a lot more the first day but once you realize all the demarcations, you'll be fine. We actually found an exit closer to our hotel, without having to walk up hill. SCORE!!! The station looks clean and feels pretty safe. I agree that it's a bit dark but I kind of think it adds to the charm a bit. I love the monitors that let you know when the next train is coming. The escalators are interesting to say the least. They do take forever but they are very long and better than having to walk up 4 flights of stairs, especially with baggage. And once we found the exit that didn't involve a hill, the escalator in that area was a bit shorter.

There were a lot of people wandering by the exit asking for money. There was also a wandering street lunatic who seemed potentially dangerous. Don't linger around the exit. The signage here was good for alerting you about inbound trains. I had purchased a round trip ticket earlier, so I did not have to deal with ticket vending machines here. My earlier experience was confusing, mostly due to the machine's UI.

It's about a 15 minutes walk to Lenox mall. Not a bad walk but don't do it in the summertime. (It'll feel like an hour walk! and you'll need a shower by the time you get to your destination.) By bus it's about 15 minutes as well.... There are lots of signs throughout the station letting you know where and what... There are a lot of big hotels nearby including W, Mandarin Oriental, Grand Hyatt and InterContinental. So if you're staying at a nearby hotel and rather not drive to the airport or worse-sit in traffic. Then take Marta. 1034th review 12/25/2017

This cuts out the $50 a day for hotel parking, the Doraville station has surface & parking deck areas, two nights was $16. Lenox station is cheaper FYI. I had only rode Marta one other time before this and it was over 10 years prior, I was mainly traveling solo on Marta this time. For the Doraville station be sure not to park in the front parking as this is NOT overnight and you will be towed. The ticketed parking is just beside with minimal security. Doraville is the gold line that goes into Lenox where the race starts; our stop was Peachtree center. The trick to going from Peachtree back to Lenox is to know that both red & gold run on same track, which I didn't. I got on the train saying North Springs and ended up at Medical Center before realized, rode back to Lindbergh then gold to Lenox. The train itself is minimally occupied unless a big event is going on. It was somewhat clean as meaning no visible trash. There are homeless persons all around the escalators underground and you may get accosted on the platform but just be smart. I put the Breeze mobile app on and bought 3 day pass for $16, my main issue was the QR code picking up on the scanner. Every time I dreaded it because would never scan on first, 2nd, maybe 3rd try if was lucky. Overall IMO, Marta is a deal at $2.50 to go all over the city pretty quickly. It can be a little sketchy at night but just be aware of surroundings.

I usually come here when I don't want my mom to come all the way to the airport to pick me up. The Doraville Station is exactly what it is -- it's one of the safer stations I would say. But it's really nothing special. MARTA itself needs a lot of work and it's really outdated. The last time I was here, the elevator was broken so I had to carry hella luggage down the stairs and that was pretty disastrous. But it is what it is. If you're looking for affordable transportation to the airport and you don't wanna ask for a ride or can't find a ride, at least find a ride here so you can go from here.

But this is probably one of the largest…read moreones, as it is the main hub for all the cool attractions and entertainment events in Atlanta. This is a pretty clean station; it has plenty of entrances/exits. , Tip: I highly recommend always making sure you get a regular Breeze Card as they have a life of 3 years (plastic) and can be reloaded over and over again, which can save you from having to always pay a fee $2 or having to always pay a $1 fee each time you pay for a paper ticket. Remember: Paper tickets are single-use, paper, and non-reloadable. Each time you get one, you pay $1 plus the cost of the fare. Plastic Breeze cards are reusable, reloadable, balance protection if registered. They can be used over and over again for 3 years, and only have a $2 fee once, until they expire after 3 years, and you need another one. As for Marta? It's $2.50 for one way ($5 roundtrip), but if you plan to take multiple trips over and over again, you can get an unlimited day for $9, $14 for 2 days, $16 for 3 days, etc. [Review 749] - 22nd Review of 2025

At a cost of $2.50 per trip with up to four transfers allowed in a 3 hour window, it is a "breeze" to use in the city. This past weekend, when many gas stations were empty, car rentals were over $100 a day and a lift from the airport was up to $233, MARTA was an easy and affordable way to travel in Atlanta. If making a lot of trips, passes are $9 for the day or $14 and $16 for a two or three day passes. Check the schedule so that you know where to transfer, which exit to take and what is running. The Convention Center is huge, so be prepared for a long walk after leaving the terminal. The redline has limited hours on Sunday, so plan ahead.
