I saw my oral surgeon this morning, before seeing Dr. Max, and the surgeon told me that Dr. Max contacted him asking for his 2nd opinion on a questionable area around the tooth he was treating (not his root canal), and Dr. Max told me that he also discussed that area with my general dentist. Now that's a true CARE, isn't it? But perhaps I shouldn't marvel why Dr. Max is so exceptionally caring and instead marvel why not all dentists and doctors are this way, since doctors are supposed to care for and about their patients and put their interests first. They have a mini fridge available with waters in the waiting room and a coffee station. Once called back, the appointment felt rushed. I had imaging done and then had a 2-3 minute interaction with Dr. Max. There was no discussion of options, risks, etc. I was prescribed an antibiotic and told to schedule the next two appointments for root canal retreatment. I was a bit disoriented. I did as asked but eventually cancelled those two follow up appointments and scheduled with a different practice with more time for patient care and education.

My wife and I both had unplanned endodontic issues arise within two months of each other and experienced similar experiences with this practice. With my wife's experience, which was more severe from the dental perspective, Dr. Bahrani, adjusted her schedule to get her treated same day because of the significance of the issue. What I appreciate about Dr. Bahrani is her concern in my case was my significant and complex medical issues that exist before my dental issues. She gathered all the required information from other providers to provide the best possible solution for procedure anesthesia given limitations based on my medical conditions. I have heard from friends and family the horror stories of root canals and the pain and suffering from other endodontists. Dr. Bahrani's empathy in every step of the process from beginning to end was extraordinary if I had slightest wince she would not proceed until I was completely numb and comfortable. I had soreness but that is expected and that lasted less than 24 hours. The billing aspect is exceptional as well. Her staff, appropriately, bills for the services at the time of service because dental insurance is one of the most crazy and unique calculations, but within 24 hours of receiving the insurance payment credits you back with the difference. Additionally, I sincerely appreciate Dr. Bahrani and her staff doing the work of becoming a Delta Dental Premier provider which makes my life easier financially. Lastly, the ability to call, email, or text the practice with concerns is such an asset to get all things accomplished throughout the process is another helpful and beneficial aspect. How much do they usually charge you for a consultation + X-Ray + CT scan? I know the answer, been there, done that, and your answer is wrong: Dr. Cooper charged me $0,.. Nothing! Can you believe that? I don't want people to print this review and show it to him, "You charged this guy $0, and I want the same price", but I just can't help yelling from the roof of the world's tallest tower, "This Doctor/Dentist must be from another planet where humanity, kindness, compassion, and decency still exists!" Once I paid, they charged me $700+ for "Cone CT" and have not refunded the money. They subjected me to unnecessary radiation despite my telling them that I am a "cancer survivor" and didn't want the scan. For Dr. Stuparitz, it appears that making money takes priority over a patient's well being. Sad! By posting my experience, I hope I can save others from being fleeced. The next day I was told to go somewhere else. The practice claims it strives to always do better. But as soon as I complained, I was shown the door.
