With that said, modern medicine can only do so much...you need to do your part as well. Many times I suppose, thats not enough and the chips lay where they fall... People from all walks of life are referred to the Retina Center for various reasons. For me it was a routine eye examination that alerted the doctor of a potential concern. I have come here for a year now, received expert care...the offices are comfortable and relaxing, the front desk staff are pleasant...but the magic doesn't happen out there, it happens under the expertise of Dr. Todd Schneiderman and his assistants. What a remarkable team...very professional, caring, gentle and knowledgable. It is amazing to observe the abilities...and the many tools (and medicine, laser, etc) they can use. Unfortunately, the person who answered was very short, unfriendly, and dismissive throughout the call. I was told that a visit could cost anywhere from approximately $500 to $2,000 depending on the number of photos taken, but I could not get a more specific estimate. After I thanked her, she abruptly hung up on me without any acknowledgment or goodbye. I understand that medical costs can vary, but basic courtesy should not. This interaction left me uncomfortable moving forward with the practice.

Everyone here is wonderful. I loved that they said a prayer with him before the surgery. He has had wonderful results! They worked with our local optometrist so we would not have to make the long drive. Wish every where we went had such wonderful employees. The ladies are all so kind and helpful. Thank you all.

I have diabetic retinopathy, and Dr Hansen began to 'abrasively' ask me if I was aware of all the symptoms of my disease. Before I could answer the question, he continued on, reading from notes my retinal specialist had sent in, highlighting one horrendous diabetic symptom after the next. When I told him those notes were from 21/2 yrs ago, and my current condition had improved since then, he argued with me stating that the notes were from July this year (2023). It was as though he was 'illness-shaming' me in front of his assistant. His tone & manner was without empathy & utterly unprofessional. In the midst of this awful exchange, I thanked him & took my leave. His last words to me on the way out: "Nice workin' with ya!" I certainly wouldn't recommend anybody support a medical practitioner who treats his patients this way.
