These flats are beautiful!! We just stayed one night here but We chose the 4th flat which was beautifully decorated and I love how the owners of the flats leave you with a yummy chocolate piece and a bottle of wine that was delicious. Our view was on the corner of the Main Street of McMinnville so you can see people walking around and other shops ! There a perfect place to stay if you want to be right downtown. Only negative I would say is the place needs a deep clean .. there were cobwebs on the picture frames in the living room and the floors was dirty as well. Other then that we would definitely stay here again ! read more

We were delighted by our comfortable, quiet "Aquarius" flat. Clean and spacious, the flat featured two bedrooms with comfortable beds. The living space has a full kitchen with a reasonable range of cookware. The living room was large, bright and easy to feel at home in. The bathroom was super clean, large and homey. We've stayed in this historic location twice...both times in the 11th Flat. This space is beautifully appointed with a brick wall, wood floors from the building's original ballroom, a fireplace, and a gourmet kitchen that boasts a dishwasher and all of the necessary hardware needed to make the perfect meal. (Bring our own spices! Nothing food wise is included.) They do provide fresh roasted coffee and honey sticks from a local source. The king bed has a plush pillow top and is super comfortable. The bathroom has some of the most divine smelling shampoo, conditioner, and body wash! They sell these at the neighboring Atticus. Worth the splurge in my humble opinion. Things to note...there is no phone, no room service, no elevators. When you arrive, you grab your key from the Atticus staff and hike up a set of stairs (or two) to your room. Once there, hunker down with your glass of wine and reminisce of simpler times. And, maybe grab a few tacos to go from Pura Vida or some tapas from La Rambla...delicious! read more

In my nine-hotel road trip around Calilfornia and Oregon, this was the one place I stayed where I felt I'd been snookered. The admittedly large flat was dirty, with tattered Pier 1 furniture and dishes, a sticky floor, and a sink with a missing pop-up. Don't mistake this for the Atticus! Even a valet said I wasn't actually a guest when I swung by the hotel. "But I am a guest," I said. "Not of the hotel. The flats are kind of ..." he began, with an eye roll. The town meanwhile was gloomy and touristy. Plus side: Great soap and shampoo. read more

McMinnville, Or. Great place to stay, it's actually an apartment complete with living room and kitchen. Bed very comfortable, shower had an endless supply of hot water, or at least plenty for two people. Easy parking in a free lot The homeless that gather behind the hotel like to argue at night but it wasn't horribly bad and I slept well. Easy walking access to good coffee, food, beer and wine. read more

3rd street flats was fantastic find in McMinnville. We stayed there one night on a visit to wine country and it was perfect. Check in was super easy. We picked up the keys at a coffee shop next door and that was it! The unit we stayed in was two bedrooms with a full kitchen, dining area and a huge living room. The only downside? One bathroom only. So...if you're staying for an extended time with a group of four it could tight, but that's a minor detail. The flat was super clean and well appointed. Both bedrooms had giant and super comfy beds. Linens and towels were set for us in each bedroom and we were welcomed with a lovely bottle of wine and decadent chocolate caramels. The location is great if you want to cruise around town. Several coffee shops and eateries within feet of the front door. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a "base" stay on a trip to wine country. read more

3rd Street Flats - Vacation Rentals Near Me - McMinnville, Oregon

A little pricey but such a great place to stay while in Oregon wine country. We stayed in flat 11 - "Noir", and it was absolutely beautiful. One of those places that I wish I could mimic the entire decor for my own apartment (but I'm just not that creative). Our flat had absolutely everything you need but if you're only staying a couple of nights, you probably won't even use half of what it has to offer. I was impressed by the full kitchen, big bathtub and general spaciousness of the entire flat. The bed was a little too soft (personal preference) but fine. Absolutely spotless from top to bottom. Also, this is one of those places where nobody is going to bother you and it is very quiet (except for a little train noise on the Monday but that's nobody's fault). I peeked into the open flat across the way (uninhabited except for the cleaning staff) Aquarius, and it was just gorgeous! The stairs were a little scary - steep and narrow - as I'm more than a little accident prone, but I made it through the weekend without incident. Walking distance to all the great restaurants and tasting rooms. 11 parking spots for 3rd street flats in the back. Picking up our keys across the street was quick and easy. Would recommend for anyone looking for unique lodging experience in McMinnville. read more

I loved staying at the 3rd Street Flats! My boyfriend and I were in McMinnville for just one night and after looking at the flat's website we could not resist staying there. We stayed in the fourth flat and were blown away by how beautifully designed it was. It was luxurious but comfortable enough to feel settled in no time. What is special about staying at the flats is that you can tell the proprietors really love their town and do their best to give you the best of McMinnville. From the welcome bottle of local wine and chocolates to the presentation of works by local artists (which you can purchase), you know that great pride has been taken to create the perfect getaway in Oregon wine country. Not to mention the list of recommended activities in town and the perks like free wine tasting at the wine shop below the flats. Plus you can't beat the location. Staying right on 3rd street was extremely convenient and fun. The day we arrived the farmer's market was in full swing and it was so much fun to walk around, listen to music, and do both beer and wine tasting. The town of McMinnville is so charming that we spent the rest of the day just walking around, grabbing a cocktail and then going out to dinner. We couldn't have asked for more, except for more time! On our next visit we are definitely staying at least two nights, but probably longer! read more

I stayed in the "Third Flat" AKA "The Pearl" for several weeks. The owners were great about reorganizing the schedule so I didn't have to move in and out due to conflicts with other bookings. The color scheme was much more vivid than I like, but the location was perfect for me. It is rather over-decorated. This probably won't be a big deal if you're only here for a day or two, but most of the horizontal surfaces are full of decorative "stuff." To make room to move around without hitting things, I had to move most of it into the closet, along with fourteen or fifteen decorative pillows from the bed. Note: You can purchase some of the decorative stuff, as well as some of the art hanging on the walls. My my main gripes were with the cleanliness and the cleaners. I could tell from the dust layers on top of the fridge that a large rectangular object had been there for some time, and then probably removed several months ago. The kitchen floor seems to have been swept regularly, but judging from the built-up goop I'd guess that it has been a long time since a mop has made the rounds. The broiler pan hadn't been cleaned for a LOONNG time, and several of the other kitchen items were less than sparkling. There was a ring in the toilet bowl when I arrived, and it grew progressively more visible during my stay. On the plus side, the dust bunnies under the big chair probably won't grow large enough to attack anyone for several months, so you're probably safe for a while. The 3rd St Flats was nice enough to provide a free cleaning service while I was there, but unfortunately the cleaners they chose were a disaster. They were supposed to do their work once a week, but they seemed to focus on sweeping the kitchen floor and leaving the door to the flat unlocked. They were flawless at this, never failing to leave the place unlocked. The linens were laundered only once during my stay, and then they were left in a pile on a chair. I'm guessing that you won't encounter this sort of trouble on an overnight stay. read more

My husband and I stayed here for the IPNC event and to enjoy wine tasting in the Willamette Valley. We stayed in #10 - the Aquarius. It was lovely, clean and really comfortable for the most part. The owners have a convenient check in process which was extremely smooth - including recommendations for dinner on check in. The town is easy to walk and to find what you want or need and it's so close to the Linfield College where our event was located. I highly recommend staying here for convenience, comfort and for the privacy of your own place. You also receive a nice welcome bottle of wine from the region and local handmade chocolates (who doesn't like that). The only negative was there is no elevator as the building itself is older and renovated. Our room was at the very top - so it's a long way to haul your luggage. Just make sure you ask where the room itself is. We also had an in room air conditioner which did it's job but it would not be convenient to bring it to another room so while sleeping in another room...we had to use a fan. A small inconvenience for a lovely space. You will likely not find a nicer place in McMinneville or Carlton that provide the same convenience or space. Check out was simple and easy and we did enjoy our stay! read more

One word DIRTY. Looked so promising from the pictures. Booking it was simple and everything was going well...until well let me start from the beginning. Our flat #2 said it could accommodate 4. I would not recommend this. Two is about all it can accommodate comfortably. they have a blow up bed that does not fit in the space, the hallway light beams in so brightly that you coud literally read a book in the middle of the night. Being a Mom I switched places with one of my peeps so she could sleep. the couch that she "slept" on was hard as a rock. I'm thinking they forgot to put in the cushion. My husband slept "great' until he woke up and saw a whitish stain on the navy blue duvet. Really? This is a boutique little place not motel 6 or 7. It gets worse. From the bathroom, the light was shining just right to illuminate a huge stain followed by a ton of little stains that matched the whiteish disgusting stain on the duvet. It looked like someone, maybe the guy who left it there for us to enjoy tried to clean it up to no avail. He probably thought that the maid would get to it. Well I thought this was going to be a great experience but honestly we stayed at the Comfort Inn last year and had a much better experience in the way of cleanliness. At least in a chain hotel you know to "throw" off the duvet right when you arrive to illuminate any cross contamination of the guest that were there before you. while cleaning up the dishes on our way out I noticed that the stainless shelf above the sink was filthy. Really? I would not recommend this place. You can look all pretty, be in the right location and put a fancy price tag on it, but at the end of the day other peoples bodily fluids RUIN the experience. We stayed in the Coco Flat and the Mix Flat. Our flats were plenty big and the beds were comfortable. That being said the place was like traveling in college again. However, for over $370 per night, in one of the flats the television should have worked for our movie get-together with friends. There was only an answering machine on the "24/7 phone and email service" promised. The tv "box" had to be totally replaced the next day so our movie meet-up was a bust. Label on the coffee (pot or cup amount/caf or decaf ) would have been nice as would have a tea bag and some water. More importantly though, when we went out the front door at 7 am to take a walk on 3rd Street we had to step over passed out druggies up against the door. More druggie activity in the evening on the street also. With the exception of winery visits our group's opinion is that our stay at the 3rd Street Flats was extremely disappointing as was the town of McMinnville. read more

My husband and I just wrapped up a week-long stay in the Third Flat, a.k.a. "The Pearl," for our much belated honeymoon in wine country. The apartment was every bit as beautiful as the photographs suggested, and what a location! It was such fun to walk to everything we needed in town, have as much to drink as we wanted with dinner, and then just walk a few short blocks home again. And I say "home" because it did feel very homey. Even though we had purposely picked the flat that was quite far from our typical tastes in decor, figuring it would help us feel like we were really on vacation, the apartment made us feel like we'd been living there forever! (In a good way!) It was our first time staying in a vacation apartment rental, and it was so nice to know that the space was just ours. We didn't have to worry about housekeeping coming through while we were gone, and it felt like we were living in a real space instead of some bland sleep cubicle. The ceiling fan and the standing fan both worked well for circulation, as did the free-standing a/c unit. The furniture was beautiful, functional, and comfortable, and the ornaments and art were wonderfully chosen as well. There may have been a few too many decorative items on some surfaces (we still don't really understand the pebbles in the bathroom sink!), but I think we preferred the slight clutter to the alternative of having it be too spartan. We are traveling without most of our stuff after all, and having a bit of that clutter around helped make us feel like we were really living in the apartment. Furthermore, everything was so well-chosen and pleasing to the eye that I think we were getting some bonus apartment/art therapy while staying here this past week! The sink/shower water was very slow to heat up, but that's to be expected with a historic building. It does get nice and hot once it's going. And some of the dishes, which are stored on open shelves, were a little dusty when we arrived and needed to be washed before we could use them. But that was a very minor annoyance if at all. Having some real-people things to do, like wash a couple dishes, was a nice thing while settling into an unfamiliar town. The apartment also comes with a full stash of silverware and kitchen utensils, including a very nice wine bottle opener and lots of wineglasses of different types if you are here for the wine country! And be sure to check the chest of drawers for some nice reading material about the area as well as discount cards to wineries. All in all, I would say that Third Street Flats is a lovely example of what a vacation apartment can be. read more

This is the best idea. These are apartments in downtown McMinnville that you can rent on an nightly or long-term basis. The kitchens are fully equipped to create your own fabulous meal, bedroom w/ big closet and dresser space (and a really comfy bed), there's a nice big tv to veg out if necessary (but no DVD player) and the bathroom has a beautiful claw-foot tub to relax in. (At least flat #2 had all of the above.) The owners took a really unique approach in creating each space and had a variety of local designers and artists design each room, so each one has a different feel and influence. Flat #2 was modern but still comfortable for 2 adults and 2 small kids. The location is awesome; it's right above Wednesday Wines, next to La Rambla (excellent tapas), and in the midst of the rest of the downtown activity. You can't ask for a better spot. I had a few email exchanges with one of the owners in anticipation of our trip and she was very accomodating and helpful. The only thing I wish they had were a few toiletries. But I'll forgive this since they did greet us with a bottle of Oregon pinot and a sampling of locally made chocolates. read more

I stayed here during the Ufo fest in flat 2 Olio e Aceto. The location was absolutely fantastic and the flat was very nice even tho I felt it was tad spendy. The flat was really clean except for the previous guests bar of soap still being in the shower lol. The wine and chocolates were a great touch. The location is in the middle of charming downtown Mcminnville with lots of restaurants and wine bars close by. I really enjoyed my stay. I would definitely stay here again. read more

So happy that we decided to have our girly-bachlorette-wine tasting weekend in McMinnville and stayed at the flats! The location is awesome being on third street, downtown McMinnville! It was the perfect weekend for our bride to be. There were 4 of us and we stayed in the fourth flat for 2 nights. I knew we wanted to go wine tasting in and around McMinnville, Dundee, and Newberg -- And the owners of the flats Erin and Travis were SO helpful with suggestions of wineries, tasting rooms, and local restaurants via email! Everything was very clean, bathroom was fully stocked with enough towels for 4 women :) and the kitchen was adorable. We all left wishing we lived there full time! What a fun place to stay! Right in the heart of the cutest town, McMinnville. You can walk everywhere from the hotel. The rooms are decorated so well and clean. We had friends stay in the large flat so we got to see a couple different rooms. It's great if you don't need hotel type service and want more of apartment style amenities. There's a bar downstairs, a coffee shop 3 doors down, and a healthy grocery store across the street! All you need! read more

Third Street Flats are just what downtown McMinnville needed! Being a Yamhill County native now living in the Bay Area, it is so great to have a place like the Flats to call home when back visiting. My girlfriend and I recently stayed in the 4th Flat and loved it. It recalled my times renting apartments in town centers throughout Europe but with wine country flair (and not having to figure out how to work every appliance and the heat). The flat itself was great. So great, we were really disappointed that we only could stay one night (full beautiful kitchen, wine bar, huge flat screen TV, fireplace...c'mon!). The building is historic and the decor really brings out the beauty of the architecture while also being modern and practical. This was the type of place that I wish my own apartments in SF could have looked like. But of course even if I had the space I could never do as nice a job decorating. While the flat was fantastic and you could spend your entire time lounging and ordering room service from the excellent Spanish place downstairs, for me the best thing about Third Street Flats is the location. On my previous trips back to the area I always lamented that there wasn't a great option for staying downtown and being able to walk to all the restaurants, bars, and shops on Third Street (try finding a cab late night in McMinnville and you'll know why this is important). The Hotel Oregon is okay...if you want a bar scene and sharing a bathroom. But if you want to stay in a place that is truly special, connected to the community, and have your own space to relax, all at a really reasonable price you honestly can't beat Third Street Flats. Just realize that they aren't your typical "Motel" or something and is a legit apartment rental and you are on your own , which I guess is the point. I know I will recommend it to anybody that is interested in going to Oregon Wine Country. read more

This place is magic! We spent two nights here for our rehearsal dinner and our wedding night and we couldn't have stayed in a more romantic and special place. It felt like we were in Paris or Prague instead of McMinnville. Erin & co were a delight to deal with every step of the way.. As well as the great decor, this place was spotless. The negative review on here has to be bogus because it couldn't have been cleaner. It's not a hotel with maid service and that's the whole point. You're afforded a privacy that has to be more important to you than having your towels changed. The wine and chocolates make you feel totally taken care of. I will be staying here on all my visits home to McMinnville, I don't think I could stand not to! read more

Love the concept. Love the decor. Love the location. Love the welcome at the R. Stuart Tasting Room. Wish every place we visit could have a set-up with living area and kitchen and sleeping quarters. So much more inviting than a B&B or a hotel, where you're held captive in your room. THIS IS SO GREAT, to have space. We stayed in Flat 8 which is very roomy for 2 guests....really nice. Large bathroom with washer/dryer in closet. Bright white and welcoming kitchen, fully equipped. Comfortable King bed. Wonderful living area. Location could NOT be better. Centrally located to everything. My only watch-outs. Not criticisms...just watch-outs: 1) Management is very clear about this on their website. I just didn't pay attention. There is no elevator at the OddFellows Building where #8 is located. We were traveling for 8 days, so had heavy luggage. When I was told at check in that we'd be on the second floor, I casually asked, "There's an elevator, right?" No, there isn't. But there is a handicapped chair lift that goes up the steps. You need to walk up with the chair hoisting your luggage, instead of it hoisting you. It works, but it does require some finesse with a large suitcase (and two trips with a second suitcase). Had I been alone, I'm not sure I could have figured it all out. And I'm not really coordinated enough to handle pushing the button on the chair while walking alongside it up 20+ steps. So....that's a watch-out. They don't hide this....you just need to know to either pack lightly or know you will need to use the door on Third St, as that is the entrance that has the chair lift. And Rooms 10 and 11 have stairs above where the chair lift goes, so there will be some carrying still involved, to those rooms. It was worth it for us, as we were staying 3 nights and loved our flat, but could be an issue for some, if not paying attention to details in planning. 2) We found the stairs and residents above us pretty noisy. We haven't lived in a group setting in a long time, so are probably 50-somethings pretty sensitive and unaccustomed to heavy footsteps above. And our bedroom was right by the back staircase, with 25 steps, that people most frequently used. No one's fault, but bring earplugs if you are a sensitive sleeper and there is full occupancy above you. Thank you for a great stay. Loved the Crescent Cafe. Preferred it over Community Plate. Had GREAT meals at Rambla (pork shoulder amazing) and Thistle and Valley Commissary. Recommend two vineyards with fantastic views: White Rose and Fairsing. Photo opportunities abound. Did tastings in town at Goodfellow and Biggio Hamina. read more

Amazing location, beautiful space and wonderful service! A group of friends and I rented apts. 2,3 and 4 for a girls weekend in wine country. It was the perfect place to have space to settle in, to make breakfast, relax, and enjoy ourselves. Much better than being crammed into individual hotel rooms because the whole group felt together and celebratory. Every apartment was SPOTLESS (have no idea what Regina C. is talking about), and very stylish. The bed in Flat 3 is the only one I slept in, and if I could have purchased it I would have. Soooo comfy. Every detail was thought of, and we never wanted to leave. The location is walk-out-your door perfect. Everything McMinnville has to offer is within a few blocks. Erin was extremely thoughtful throughout the booking process, and she was both helpful and flexible when we ran into trouble and needed a late checkout our final day. We tried out these rooms for a recent trip to wine country away from the kids. We stayed in the bank building in the first flats. We were very impressed with the room. Owner is not being truthful, again. There was not even one attempt at calling me for an apology or attempt at resolution. Also don't be fooled by the owner reply, I posted only one picture of the parade of large delivery trucks, garbage trucks, 18 wheelers that were driving up and down that street at ridiculously early times. Even if the garbage company stops making early morning pick ups, there will be other several other sources of loud early morning noises to keep you from sleeping. If you read some of the other poor reviews, many of them reference loud noise outside the flats. I was up at 5am from the incessant noise and wanted to leave their uncomfortable and over priced room as soon as we could. Despite what she said in the reply, maid service is only available as an additional cost. Not sure how many places that charge north of 350 a night actually charge you an additional 75-100 more for basic room cleaning service these days, can't be many. I also highly doubt that there wasn't a room they could have moved us to, I was there off peak and the small parking lot in back was completely empty during my entire stay. Suspect they just didn't want to pay for cleaning my room in order to move me. I didn't see one other guest during the stay. First and foremost being truthful would be the best policy in dealing with customer complaints. No calls to this day ever from the management despite what was posted in the reply. read more

We had high expectations for this place based on the reviews but were sorely disappointed. It has nice finishes and convenient location but the walls are paper thin. Not "we could hear noises" thin but "we could understand the conversations being had downstairs in the street below like they were in our room with us" thin. Every time someone walked past our room it sounded like they were trying to come into our room. They also decided to lock the A/C at 68* in the middle of summer with no fans inside. Overall, for the price, we would NOT return and can not recommend it to others. read more

Great downtown McMinnville location. Within walking distance to so many great shops and restaurants. My husband and I stayed in the first flat which I believe is the smallest one. It did not feel small at all. Nice fully furnished kitchen with everything you would need to prepare and eat meals including a dining table with 3 chairs. The living area was generous with a large window overlooking the street. Noise was never an issue. The separate bedroom had the most comfortable bed and linens. Gorgeous chandelier over the bed! Check out the pictures on their website, they are very accurate. Our flat was very clean, comfortable and quiet. Can't say enough and I would love to come back! read more

(I made it for a month after our actual visit) However, the staff hustled to get a room ready and never made me feel like the idiot that I was. The rental was lovely, interesting and comfy. My husband and I just got back from a little road trip up the Oregon Coast, through Oregon wine country and back down I-5. While in Oregon wine country we stayed at Third Street Flats. We only planned to stay one night, but it was such a great experience, we wound up staying two more nights. We stayed in the first flat and just loved it. You could see that it was professionally decorated and they didn't miss a thing. When we arrived there were Oregon chocolates and a bottle of Oregon Pinot, for which the area is famous. We ate lunch and dinner in the local restaurants, but it was so nice to be able to have coffee and a small breakfast before leaving our room. The bed was great, all the furniture was comfortable, the kitchen had all the amenities we needed, the location was great, the people were friendly and helpful - who could ask for more! We definitely will be back!!! read more

We stayed at Third Street Flats in downtown historic McMinnville, Oregon and found an oasis, uncommon in the hotel industry. The unit we stayed in was decorated comfortably, even though too many pillows were on the bed, but it was equipped with everything we needed. What a wonderful place to stay! I recently stayed at the Pearl (the 3rd Flat of the 4) for 2 nights and it was better than what I had expected. It was reasonably priced ($180 a night) for what you get (private bathroom, kitchen, closet space, sitting area, small dining table, king bed). It was more than enough room for 2, but the bathroom was a bit of a squeeze. The bathroom would be my only "gripe", but as I only stayed there for 2 nights, it was no big deal to me. As a matter of fact, I've come to realize that the bathrooms in Oregon are rather cramped... stayed in Portland and on the coast and both had rather small bathrooms... and I'm totally not a big person at all, so that means a lot coming from a petite girl! But, yeah, it can't be helped, so no big deal; hence 5 stars. It's a great home base for touring Oregon's wine country for the day (Newberg, Dayton, etc). It's homey and comfy and the flat is beautifully decorated. I would definitely stay again if I ever find myself in wine country!! read more

No real complaints, would probably stay again. We were in flat 4, you should know that the bath and shower are beyond tiny. Was fine for two days but would be tough after that. Also, even though a small town the street noise in downtown rivaled that of larger cities. read more
