Staying here for 3 days during our trip in the Willamette Valley. A somewhat isolated B&B in the middle of vineyards in the valley. Perfect location for touring the area and visiting wineries and other sites. Very solicitous and professional staff. Becky our hostess is particularly delightful. As guests we are afforded a wine tasting each evening which we have availed ourselves of. The Baileys own the place and produce some very good wines under the Youngberg Hill and Bailey label. We joined the wine club. The setting is wonderful perched on a mountain overlooking vineyards and views of mountains. Ambiance is high end rustic with all the accouterments you might need. Breakfast every morning and wine tasting each evening. No lunch or dinner but we went into town when we needed meals McMinnville, Dayton and other smaller towns are all within 30 min drive. What a crazy mixed bag of reviews. Did not stay there, but arrived on a Wednesday afternoon for a tasting, and they were not busy at all. The gal behind the counter was very kind and explained to each wine to us and how it was named after the three daughters of the owners of the winery. The view is beautiful and the wine was tasty. Since it is after harvest, they had sheep wandering around the vineyard, it is an organic winery so they said the sheep were fertilizing. I believe it is also woman owned. They also have hairy coo cows. My friends are in the area for a few months and really like this winery a lot. I'm glad they shared it with me. read more

This was one of the worst experiences we've had with a bed-and-breakfast. We were charged twice, even though we had a gift card and a credit that should have covered part of the stay. Both were completely ignored. We've had to dispute the charges twice with our credit card company because the property refused to fix their mistake. Be very careful--billing practices here are questionable, and customer service is nonexistent. read more

DO NOT HAVE YOUR WEDDING HERE! Absolute worst experience working with the people at this venue. Started with them promising things that we later found out weren't true after we signed the contract. Once we found out about the false promises, we couldn't get into contact with anyone there. The entire time leading up to the wedding it would take 9-10 times to try and get a hold of them before they would finally answer and they were always very short with us. They had no care or understanding about trying to make our day special. After all the false promises and rude behavior and lack of communication, we were contractually committed to the venue so we stuck with them. Then, when our big day came, they were once again very rude with us. They were very strict about alcohol rules and one of the few types of alcohol we really wanted were seltzers. They of course forgot to get the seltzers. Don't even know how that is possible with the year advance notice and multiple conversations about wanting them as well as it being IN OUR CONTRACT. They were literally the one type of alcohol we wanted and they didn't get them. That just told me that they clearly didn't care about our requests and didn't ever take the time to write anything down. And then, after our ceremony ended, we went back into the house and celebrated. But we're quickly told to quiet down for other guests, (we paid an extreme amount to rent the entire building out for the day so I don't know how there were other guests.) And on top of that, had no water around anywhere for us to drink so we were very dehydrated. The people working at this venue are unprofessional and frankly an absolute joke. If you are thinking about having your wedding here, please I hope you read this and RUN! Save your money and emotions and go somewhere where they care about your special day because they definitely don't care about you here. read more

Take my review as your warning! We stayed the night here for my brother and sister-in-law's wedding and the experience was incredibly disappointing. For the price they charge per room per night, you'd think the inside would be nicer than the inside of a Super 8. Don't let the "pretty views and highland cows" lure you in, it's an absolute joke. Trust me, it's not worth the 5 star resort prices they charge. They advertised "homemade pastries" for breakfast but what we got looked and tasted like they were pulled from a freezer and tossed on a plate. A Hawaiian dinner roll with raisins, if you will. Absolutely awful. There was nowhere to fill up a water bottle and not a single water bottle provided anywhere on the property. We were thirsty all night and morning and couldn't find anyone on site to even ask for help. For a venue that hosts weddings and overnight guests, this is unacceptable. Looking back, the many other 1-star reviews should've been a clear warning; so consider this yours. I won't go into the chaos and stress the bride, groom and their wedding coordinated endured (that's their story to tell), but I will say this - the owners do not care about their guests. They only care about your money. Don't be fooled by the owners responses to other reviews to try and make them look better or that they aren't at fault.. this place is not worth it and is ran by scums. We had our wedding here and although the views are spectacular the organization and management here is a joke! First of all, the person we originally working with was mysteriously fired (though we found out what happened with that later) halfway through our contract, only for us to be given Katie from Portland Catering as our new contact for everything. The catering was its own mess, which sucked because if you want to use any other caterer you have to pay a fee, and then we still would have had Katie as our coordinator, so there was no escaping her bad attitude and inability to communicate with us in a timely fashion. No idea why they partner with her. Day of, the wedding the coordinator was an hour later than contracted to top all of that off. Later that night, we were filled in by some of the staff all of the chaos going on behind the scenes at Youngberg and Portland Catering Company, which made a lot of their unprofessionalism and inconsistency make sense. We appreciated knowing the context but it was odd that staff was speaking about affairs and firings to clients. Overall we left our wedding happy despite some of the shortcomings from the team at Youngberg-- that is until 6 months after the event when they emailed us saying we had an outstanding invoice that THEY forgot to wrap up. Upon my own inspection and recalculation of the invoice, it was determined that the venue actually owed us $1k as a refund, so I presume that's why they never wrapped it up post event. It then took a full 6 weeks for Youngberg to actually mail us a check, as they attempted to ghost us by ignoring multiple emails and phone calls for weeks at a time until I let them know that I would be moving forward with small claims court, which lit the appropriate fire under their butts and got us our check. Had such an amazing experience at this beautiful winery/vineyard yesterday. Came out for an Easter event and stuck around afterwards for an impromptu tasting. The owner/winemaker, Wayne, just so happened to be relaxing nearby and we struck up a conversation. From that point, the experience only got better. Even though this was Easter Sunday, Lori and Wayne continued to spoil us with the best service they could offer. On top of the warm hospitality shown by everyone we encountered, the wine was able to match it. From the sparkling to the Pinots to the literally perfect Grenache, there wasn't a wine I did not like. The only thing that could have been better was the weather yet even that didn't matter because the views here are top notch. I can't wait to come back in the summer and enjoy them to the fullest! I would highly recommend you pass on this winery. The view is beautiful but they really don't care about accomodating guests or being nice. We visited as a group of 6 and were informed ahead of time we could not do a traditional tasting and instead needed to order bottles of wine. We were disappointed because part of our reason for visiting the different wineries is to get to sample many wines but wanted to visit anyway as we were biking and this winery made sense to stop at, and we heard there were great views (whcih there are). When we arrived we asked the tasting room manager if she could tell us about the wines she did, but we definitely didn't feel welcomed at the winery. We were told we had to spend $30 per person, so we picked bottled to get us to that amount. We had reserved our spot and paid ahead of time. When it came time to settle up, we were told we owed more than we thought. It turns out that at least 2 of the prices on the printed list we were provided were wrong - by as much as $30 a bottle. When we pointed this out and said we would pay the amount that was listed and that we ordered from we were told by the manager she could not do that. After some negotiation we agreed to split the difference. We did leave her a tip on top of that. As we were getting ready to leave the Vice President came running out to ask us what had happened. We explained and he said they had no idea the prices were listed wrong and they were right on the website and we should have know and paid the proper prices. He became very rude when my husband explained the situation and when we said we felt we should have only paid the amount listed. What should have been a nice visit turned into us being bullied by the VP. Reading other reviews it seems that this winery doesn't really care about visitors to their tasting room. read more

We have a wine membership at Youngberg Hill and usually we pick up our shipment and do a free tasting at the same time. The views at Youngberg are incredible and the staff is so friendly! They are so knowledgeable about wine and help to create a very epicurean experience. As you are tasting, you will learn where on the property each varietal is grown, and the blocks are named after the winemaker's three daughters. We recently made a trip up here, did a tasting, had a lovely charcuterie board, and actually got to meet one of the daughters, Natasha. The Pinot Noir that is named for her is my favorite wine made at Youngberg. Yes, their wine is truly fantastic, I have loved everything I've ever tried, they have bottles with deep and complex flavors and others with a lighter taste. But tasting it for the first time on the balcony at Youngberg overlooking the valley definitely makes the experience. We had an idillic three night stay. Becky, the Director of First Impressions, reached out to confirm our needs and desires before we arrived and greeted us in the roundabout to get us moved in to a second floor suite. The ambiance and views were incredibly peaceful and when combined with the personal "family like" hospitality we were very impressed. My wife and I were unfamiliar with the Youngberg Hill wines, but the complementary daily tastings, impressed us to became wine club members. Perfect place to stay in McMinnville for the ultimate relaxation weekend. We were able to stay here on our Oregon+Seattle roadtrip and were so grateful we did! This unfortunately had to be the last stop on our trip as we had to cancel the second half due to the fires and evacuations throughout Oregon :( The views are hard to beat and you feel right at home since everyone is so friendly. We went for a wine tasting right as we arrived which was a perfect start to our stay! Not only are the rooms cozy, it makes you feel like you are staying in a cabin! It is the ideal mix of cabin vibes inside with Napa views outside! Unfortunately, the fires really put a damper on our view but the experience was nonetheless fabulous. They had corn hole tournaments at night and homemade yogurt parfaits in the morning! A perfect getaway if you are looking for some time to wind down. We came as a family but I imagine that this would be a great place to go as a couple or with other couples as grown ups love to getaway to the wine country! :) One word of advice: because this Inn is so secluded, going out to grab food can be sort of a hassle! Try out the Hometown Xpress (Uber Eats of McMinnville) to get local food or fast food delivered right to your door! Felt as if we'd known her for years. Her knowledge of the wines, made for an easy choice in selecting our favorites. Beautiful views and amazing service! Becky was so lovely that we decided to stay a second night. She was able to answer all of our questions and made the entire experience comfortable and relaxing. She greeted us upon arrival and stayed to provide us with a full tasting experience. She also provided great dining recommendations for us in town. We loved our room, clean and well kept with windows all around. Breakfast was great and brought up to our room as well ( an adjustment to covid I believe). The grounds and views are absolutely stunning. We were able to enjoy a glass of wine on the Adirondack chairs overlooking the endless rolling hills. The swing is also a great place to take fun photos. 100% recommend. read more

If you're looking for somewhere to get your money's worth don't go here! Over priced for what you get. Martini Suite was the room we stayed in and was listed as the Main Suite was sparsely furnished with what looked like garage sale furniture. the carpet was showing its age, the paint was looking a little dirty. The fireplace hearth had stains all over it. No phone, no alarm clock, no pen and paper, no refrigerator. When we asked for some ice they told us their ice machine had broken two years ago so no. The deck off the room was dirty- bird droppings moss growing on it. The food was ok nothing to write home about. the service was poor with no one person to take care of any request. Checking in was ok at best checking out was - leave your key in the basket because we won't be anywhere around when you leave to at least say thank you, how was your stay nothing! It does have amazing views but other than that there are better places and cheaper. read more

Just WOW!!!! Perched high atop Youngberg Hill, the Inn provides 180+ degrees of visibility over the verdant Willamette Valley. The view and grounds alone would garner this a full five stars. We were greeted warmly by Becky Looney, the Director of First Impressions. And boy does Becky do her job well. She immediately made us feel welcome and comfortable. Throughout our three night night visit she helped direct us to local vineyards, helped us plan a route, gave suggestions on dining options, and plied us with lovely wines. She provided us with information as only a local can. The Inn is a true Bed and Breakfast with a high level of comfort and services throughout. It is a bit like staying at a friends high-end country estate. The rooms are comfortable and well appointed with spectacular views. Ours had a small gas fireplace, comfy queen bed with soft sheets, warm snuggly robes, spa style shower with high end shampoo and soap, plenty of large fluffy towels, and plenty of outlets. Coffee is available downstairs in the morning, and a gourmet breakfast was served family style in the gracious dining room. We came in feeling like welcome guests. We left feeling like members of the family. read more

TERRIBLE OWNERS NICOLETTE AND WAYNE BAILEY but spectacular view. If you want to host your wedding here, please read before committing. My husband and I are very easy going and usually do not write any bad reviews on Yelp. However, this service was just unacceptable and it needs to be shared. We hosted a destination wedding at Youngberg Hill. We met in McMinnville so we wanted to pick an amazing venue for our guests in the area where we fell in love. 75 of the 85 guests traveled thousands of miles to be there with us on our special day. NICOLETTE BAILEY was a NIGHTMARE to work with from mid planning to the end. She is very kind initially, to trick you into booking with her. Once she has you hooked, she will nickel and dime you for everything she can think of. She is sneaky and does not care about anything other than money. Initially we didn't want to agree with all the negative reviews we read on Yelp and The Knot about Nicolette but after everything is said and done we can attest to how unprofessional this owner is. OVER BOOKING: As soon as we booked with Youngberg, we clearly stated that we wanted to rent The Inn for 2 nights, the night before and the night of the wedding. We then made arrangements with our closest family and friends. About 6 months out of our wedding she notifies us saying that she accidentally OVER BOOKED and 2 rooms are not available to our party anymore. Not only did this inconvenience our guests who already made plans on staying both nights, but this caused even more a headache for our family. Nicolette said we MUST have the families with children in the Cellar Suite because it is sound proof down there. She made my sister, brother in-law, her 2 children, and 2 of my cousins squish into the Cellar Suite. All because the children "might wake up the other guests in the Inn." Mind you, that the guests that were in the Inn were the very ones SHE overbooked!!! She said we had "no other options" and if we didn't agree the only other option was for them to find another hotel to stay at. ALCOHOL: When inquiring with many other venues and wineries there is an option to cap the bar. It may be setting a limit to the number of bottles served or a price amount. This is NOT AN OPTION for Youngberg. Yes, they expect you to pay for an open bar that you have no control in monitoring. Youngberg does not allow outside alcohol, not in their reception hall, not in their Inn nor in the private $200-$300 per night rooms that you rent. Yes, if you have outside alcohol you will have it confiscated and your room will be searched. If you agree with this then please book with Youngberg. I on the other hand find this absurd. OVER CHARGING: On our final invoice we got an extremely unnecessary charge of $170. Here are her exact words taken from an email she sent me, "There was damage to the DJ tent from the wind and it is unfixable.  We ordered another one and it is included on the invoice for $169.95." WE HAVE NO CONTROL OVER THE WIND, Youngberg probably used that tent for hundreds of weddings prior to ours, that may have caused natural wear and tear to the tent. Now that on our wedding day, it just so happens to be "too windy" that it tears, WE have to cover that cost? I'm sorry but that is just absurd!! Despite the bad experience we had with NICOLETTE BAILEY, I do have to say that Youngberg Hill has a breathtaking location. The view of the landscape is drop dead gorgeous. The wine is delicious. The Inn and the rooms are well maintained. THEY ARE SO LUCKY TO HAVE BECKY & MOLLY as they are very friendly and very welcoming. They have a lot going for them, however the owners are an absolute nightmare. I highly suggest finding another venue. It'll save you the stress, tears, and money! Youngberg Hill should be ashamed of themselves. Nicolette or Wayne will probably respond to this review in a negative & unprofessional way as they did to the previous negative reviews. They threatened to take away our full deposit if we were to write a negative review. My husband and I stayed here for two nights when I was a bridesmaid in my best friends wedding. We stayed in the Jackson suite and loved it. There was a spacious living room, bedroom & bathroom. It was upstairs and was quiet. The views are amazing and we enjoyed the breakfast Saturday & Sunday morning. The staff was all really friendly as well. There is also the tasting room downstairs to enjoy. We will absolutely be coming back in a future trip to Oregon and I highly recommend staying at the Inn. read more

It is a beautiful drive to Youngburg Hill. And a beautiful property. They close at 4pm. Don't arrive anytime after 3 they will not do a tasting. They will offer you the opportunity to buy a glass without tasting we were there to taste and buy so we passed on $32 for 2 glasses of wine. Server could use a little training in customer service. Most likely will not go back when traveling through wine country again, plenty of other wineries eager to share their product. read more

This is a truly stunning location. Me and my Fiancee stumbled across this place when looking for wedding venues. The main building sits on top of a hill that overlooks the rest of the vineyard. There's a smaller building off to the side that is used for events. However what makes this place stand out are the Staff Members. The moment we stepped on the property everybody was incredibly friendly. They immediately took us in and were more warm and friendly than any of the other locations we visited. A special shout out to Nicolette who took us on a great tour of the place. Side note, if you're a certified Dog-Lover, there are 2 lovely dogs on site. Despite a bit of high level smoke from wildfires the view was expansive, deep, beautiful, and just breathtaking. Those imbibing loved the products, and the staff were wonderful. We stayed in the Jura suite and absolutely loved the room - wonderful views and extremely clean. The staff is wonderful and the location can't be beat. One suggestion for the management: communication between staff could be better. We initially reserved breakfast, but cancelled our breakfast reservation by phone several days ahead of our trip in order to eat in our wonderful room. This was not relayed to the staff serving breakfast, and produced a rather uncomfortable moment for us. We felt bad for her. read more

Youngberg Hill is a lovely location. My husband and I planned our wedding at their vineyard and use of their inn. We were taken in by the beauty of the vineyard, however, working with Youngberg Hill Events and Winery has been a nightmare. With Covid-19 we were unable to hold our wedding event and they would not return the $4,900 deposit. So on 4/12/21 my spouse and I went to Small Claims court and the judge ruled in our favor against Youngberg Hill Events. Our attorney contacted Youngberg Hill and they have neither responded nor paid their debt. We would hate for this to happen to anybody else. This place is amazing. We stayed here for 5 nights and the views were stunning and the staff was top notch. The breakfast that they prepare for you each morning was always different and delicious. They provided a bartender and connected me with a caterer all for our non profit. They were so patient and accommodating as I planned my event.
