My two sons have been training at World Martial Arts Academy for nearly two years. I chose this…read moreacademy because it is headed by a grandmaster (sixth level black belt), while most schools have less experienced and less qualified instructors. The grandmaster personally oversees the instructors as they teach, and students usually are in groups of two to four per instructor. This assures close attention to every aspect of the training, and because instructors are observed by both the grandmaster and the head instructor, and because instructors are trained each day, the quality of the teaching is high. We left a previous larger taekwondo center because a teacher often had 15-20 students, and I found my sons were being offered a chance to test for higher belts when they were clearly not doing well. This, in my view, was to assure that they completed the training contract as quickly as possible. If they did not complete, the training was to continue for free after the contract ended. I noticed that some of the students with black belts were barely able to complete simply actions. That. to me, was unacceptable. The Grandmaster has been teaching for more than 25 years and began his training in South Korea. He is really outstanding and I feel fortunate to have found an academy that offers high quality training.

They are genuinely motivated, dedicated, and display sincerity to each and every student. I genuinely love the one-on-one teaching style the Black Belt Trainers exhibit. Unlike some places, a student is never lost in the shuffle or left behind. Having served in the United States Army 75th Airborne Infantry Rangers, where the motto, "No One Left Behind" was coined, WNKK&KMS, displays such dynamic tradition, ethical principle, and core values for every student's educational, technical, and tactical advancement. This mantra is the bedrock of military ethics, cohesiveness, esprit de corps, achieved victories, and is vibrantly displayed at WNKK&KMS, with dedication and motivation. I am very proud of them and my classmates. It will be my greatest pleasure to recommend any of my friends, loved ones, associates, and comrades to WNKK&KMS for such effective and efficient martial arts expertise training and advancement! If you're looking for a martial arts school, you have to check this place out…read more I don't care what you're into: family classes, personal self defense, MMA, competition fighting, security training. They have it all. The reason: Mr. Sipin is a world reknowned martial artist, teacher and security professional. Let me say that again: people around the world know who this man is and he's in West Allis, WI of all places?!? Why? Because he's a family man. Yes, his family is heavily involved in the running of the school. This makes it a kid friendly, family friendly place with high standards and morals. A great environment to learn and meet people of similar quality. Now, don't get me wrong. As Roy Harris says, "Don't mistake kindness for weakness." Just because these are good people, doesn't mean they can't teach you how to effectively put down someone. They can, and will, in a number of ways. They'll also insist you consider the legal implications. How do they do it? Go to their website to see all about it. But as a former student I wanted to mention some things I didn't realize until leaving the school (and state) and seeing many others. Mr. Sipin loves what he does. He also likes to buy a lot of equipment because he likes "the best" stuff. You get to play with that stuff too. Anybody who's been into the martial arts knows how expensive it is to maintain a gym. Four Winds has it all.

A sweet kid but no verbal thus no social skills. Eventually he wound up being the victim of bullying. Sadly, that smiling kid became troubled and super nervous. He didn't tell us until much later what had happened. The second photo is self explanatory. We enrolled him at Crossover over a year ago. Not to learn how to fight but to learn how to control fear. To calm his nerves. I know because I took martial arts when I was a youth. I didn't use it to fight. It taught me how to think during stressful situations, whether it's an exam or a slot route in football. Nervousness is an enemy that must be dealt with. Shortly after enrollment my son was diagnosed with mild Aspergers. It's mostly a social awkwardness issue. His grades are solid. His love of reading and science is tops. He gets so nervous though with kids his age. The bullying experience probably accelerated his isolation response. His autism also makes him ripe to be pushed around. We told Professor Bob at Crossover and he is the best coach ever. He is amazing with the kids. Teaching both community respect and self respect. Ian is a better person even with his social challenges. He is less nervous in crowds. He still has an awkwardness but it's less nerve racking for him. The improvement was a matter of confidence. A confidence that the world is not an evil place that is built to torture him. It's a place to explore and if possible to explore with friends. As a parent, I love this place as much as I love my son's doctors. Great job Professor Bob and Crossover as a whole!
