We believe Grandma would have been happy with her service. They spoke English and Cantonese during the service as per our request. We had to show up on time then they drove us to each locations and back to pick up our cars in their parking lot. I am the most impressed with the military precision of the fleet of drivers that controlled traffic to keep the car procession together! Thank you for your respectful service. I am not sure about the value, it was a lot of money but how we got a lot for it. I do recommend what they offer.

Jacky was never pushy or salesy -- instead, he provided clear, detailed explanations at every step, which was especially helpful as it was our first time handling funeral arrangements. He was extremely respectful and patient, taking the time to understand our family's wishes, as well as the cultural traditions and expectations from relatives, and balancing them thoughtfully with what our mother would have wanted. His ability to communicate fluently in English, Cantonese, Mandarin, and to read/write both Traditional and Simplified Chinese made it easy for everyone involved to feel understood and included. It also gave us great peace of mind knowing that nothing would be lost in translation during such an important and sensitive time. We were also deeply comforted by how beautifully the makeup and presentation of our mother were done -- she looked peaceful and like herself, which meant a lot to us and to everyone who came to pay their respects. We truly appreciated Jacky's guidance, knowledge of traditional customs, and the calm, steady presence he provided from beginning to end. Thank you again to Jacky and the Chun Fook team for making a very painful experience a little more bearable.

We've had two experiences, both leaving much to be desired. It's a tough time and nerves may be understandably frayed, but in my direct experience, I have found this vendor's compassion utterly lacking. Physically this structure has been here a long time and could stand some modernization. The vertical steps just inside the front door make entering and exiting particularly challenging on the older population or those with leg issues. There is an elevator approachable from the rear, but not well advertised or offered. Mourners are interrogated by the front desk staff, rather than greeted kindly. Consumption of water via bottle is frowned upon though dixie cups next to an old water fountain are available. The technology is dated and those with digital photos are asked to print them for the funeral home to then scan individually, a ludicrous use of labor and waste of survivor time particularly as more and more photos will only ever be in the cloud. Their rules are their rules with no opportunity for even a discussion of another approach. Take a look at the attached photo of guidelines, which in themselves, are off-putting and inaccurate. For example, even though we followed these to a"T," their system could not read, because of the outdated nature of their technology. Be forewarned. Picking an argument in direct view of the family decedent over the display and placement of photos was the pinnacle of poor business judgment and further demonstrated a gross lack of situational awareness. It was truly shocking and not something I'd wish others to experience. Upon completion, cards, gifts, and priest vestments were gathered for our pick-up. Fortunately, shortly after signing a release, we discovered one such vestment was missing. We called, returned and the vestment was found. When asked "how does this happen?," the response was "it just got left in the closet." Given my experience and the fact that the vestment was not labeled, I believe if not for our quick discovery, that nice memento would never have been seen again. Shop elsewhere if you have the luxury.

Then in 2019 when my uncle passed we went back thinking we'd get the same quality service we received before, boy was I wrong. The moment we walked in we were met by pure ratchetness. Dudes that looked like they belong elsewhere eating wings and a so called funeral director (not the same one I dealt with in 2013) just as ghetto. No tact no empathy. I requested a change of casket since the one my cousin chose wasn't up to par and I was told it couldn't be done bc allegedly the body was already in the casket which I suspect wasn't true. Finally the morning of the burial they were over an hour late to pick him up and go to the cemetery. No reason given just kept telling us they were on the way. Unless this place has changed management and staff in the last 7yrs I would not use this place. I'd rate them no stars but that's not possible.

From the start they were compassionate, gentle and kind. There was no attempt made to upsell their services. They quickly took possession of my brother before I arrived in New York and it was a comfort to my family that he was no longer in the city morgue while I flew out to NY. They made the entire process of his wake and cremation as simple and gentle as possible. Mr. Lee was the one who prepared my brother for viewing. Mr. Lee is an artistic genius, due to throat cancer my brother did not look as he once did but Mr. Lee worked a miracle and despite the circumstances of his death my brother looked as if he had just settled down for a nap on my sofa. I half expected his ankles to be crossed as was his habit in life. While searching for a funeral home I found out that the one my family traditionally used was having legal issues over quality and was forced to look elsewhere to arrange funeral services. I'd contacted several funeral homes before deciding to go with FAS due to their location and was surprised to find that they were the least expensive out of all the funeral homes I'd contacted. They were budget friendly without being skimpy. Located in an area with several funeral homes, they are small, not so flashy and easily overlooked but they provide wonderful service and are kind and compassionate. I highly recommend them and will use them again should the need arise.
