MAJOR REGRET NOT READING YELP REVIEWS. IF YOU'RE HERE - PLEASE READ AND AVOID THE FRUSTRATION OF WORKING WITH DR. LEUNG AND HIS STAFF. When I initially contacted Dr. Leung's office, it took several calls before Dr. Leung himself answered. He immediately offered me an appt. the next day (should have seen that red flag for such a quick opening) but then said my 30-minute lunch break would not give him enough time for the medical examination. Understandable. I scheduled my appt. for the upcoming Saturday - 1/8. Dr. Leung explained the medical exam fee for immigration cases would cost $320, CASH only, and would NOT be billed to my medical insurance (although he's in-network w/ my plan). More red flags, but his office is near my home and I needed that I-693 form completed in 17 days. The office is outdated and messy. The front desk had paperwork scattered everywhere - patient information exposed and all. The check-in process was fine, and the wait was not long. I spent probably a total of FIVE minutes with Dr. Leung. I read a review about how he closes the door with female patients, but keeps it open with male patients and can confirm this is true. There was also no assistant of any sort in the room with us. He asked me about 3 questions, checked my lungs with his stethoscope, took my blood pressure, then walked me to the front desk. He filled out a lab slip for my blood work - I was not aware I would be sent elsewhere for this - then told me I could come back the following Saturday to pick up the report. His receptionist continued to help me check out, gave me a sheet showing nearby Quest Diagnostics locations, told me to bring them the lab slip and "you won't have to pay a cent." Right. Total misinformation. A patient that checked in after me heard my conversation and questioned what the $320 fee actually covers, since I was being referred elsewhere for the bloodwork. The woman she asked couldn't even answer the simple question, stuttering before leaving to find the doctor. Quest Diagnostics turned out to be closed for maintenance the following week so I didn't get my appointment until 1/17. The week passed and I heard nothing from Dr. Leung's office. Quest Diagnostics confirmed my results were sent to him on 1/19. I called his office all day on the 24th, the day before my interview. No answer, and this time, no voicemail box where I could leave a message. Not even a recording stating their hours. I texted the number I received my appointment confirmation from - no response. It wasn't until the 27th that I was able to get through to Dr. Leung's office. When I spoke to the receptionist, I confirmed that I would be receiving a copy of my report and she said if I want a copy, it would be $1 per page. What?! According to the USCIS website regarding the I-693, the civil surgeon should provide the patient a COPY of the report for their records. And with a charge like $320 - I can't believe they would not comply and actually charge $1/page for a copy. - do NOT accept this. Providing a copy is part of the service. Moving on - the receptionist transferred the call to Dr. Leung, who confirmed he'd charge $1 per page if I wanted a copy. He said that's a standard fee, and "it's up to you if you want it or not." He offered to let me take photos of the report. He asked me to send him my results and I told him Quest Diagnostics already sent my results to him over a week ago! THEN he says, "WHY DID YOU GO TO QUEST DIAGNOSTICS? YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO GO TO LABCORP! / I NEVER SEND PATIENTS TO QUEST DIAGNOSTICS, THEY NEVER SEND ME RESULTS!" -- DR. LEUNG LITERALLY FILLED OUT A QUEST LAB SLIP - IT WAS EVEN PERSONALIZED W/ HIS BUSINESS INFORMATION. HIS FRONT DESK ALSO GAVE ME THAT LIST OF QUEST LOCATIONS. WTH. The day came for me to pick up my report and they had me waiting about 2 HOURS. Dr. Leung didn't check his email the day he instructed me to send my lab results, or even the day after - he asked me for my results after I checked in. I took the time to print + complete my portion of the I-693 form but he decided to complete the form digitally and print it again instead - there were so many errors, it had to be redone SEVERAL times, each time taking painfully long. When asked to include my alien number (as mentioned in the form filing instructions), he said "they don't need that, the more information, the more mistakes." What?! The receptionist even tried to say I waited long because of the mistakes on my form as if it was my fault? I gave the Civil Surgeon duties page that states they should provide the patient a copy and refused to pay an additional fee for my copies. The receptionist later apologized and tried to say Dr. Leung was not feeling well. I have no sympathy here. If he wasn't feeling well, as a DOCTOR, esp during COVID times - maybe he shouldn't be seeing patients, esp as most of the patients who arrived and packed his waiting room were elderly. Dr. Leung has been the rudest and most unprofessional doctor I have ever met. I would give negative stars if that is possible. He does not care for his patients and show no sign of patience. He sent me to a out of my network test lab and now I'm stuck with the bill. My own insurance is free for those test. He promised to fix the problem at first and did nothing. I had third notice from the lab requesting the bill before collection steps in. I brought the bill in and showed him, he said "is not my problem and blew me off". I should of looked up the review before seeing him, all those review about him only looking to make money and does not care for their patient is TRUE. I honesty do not see how he qualifies to be a doctor with this kind of work morale. I will also report him to Medical board of California. Think twice before you go see him. read more

This guy's practice is a total joke. I can't review his manor either because I never got in to see him also -- I demanded my copayment back and walked out of his office before I was called. Why? Because his staff were a) totally unconcerned with my medical needs b) totally unprofessional They were unconcerned with my health because they made an appointment for me with out ever asking why I needed to see a doctor, but in my interactions with them they asked me three times for my insurance info. I understand they need that info, but wouldn't you think that if they could ask me three times about the money that they could ask at least ONCE about why I wanted to see the doctor? I say they were unprofessional because for this visit (my first with this doctor) they didn't bother to weigh me or measure me correctly. For the weight, they weighed me with my jacket, hat, and shoes on. When I asked them about... they joked "but you are skinny, why should you worry about your weight?" And for my height, they just asked me what my height was. No measurements. Seeing that kind of medical "care" I just demanded my copayment back, and walked out the door. I work in the pharmacy and I can tell he does not care about patients. Duplicate prescriptions, missing qty, missing direction, wrong sig, etc. Prescribing inappropriate controlled substance left and right. A lot of us cannot believe he has "MD." He should be ashamed. read more

I hate this doctor so much, that I have to leave a second negative review of this doctor. Because he prescribed a wrong antibiotics for my strep throat infection, it Brought me so much trouble afterwards!! What was he thinking when he was preaching Doxycyline to me! Thanks Dr.Leung for seeing my boyfriend at the last minute for his eye infection. The office could stand a cleaning. It's pretty packed (probably because of people like us, with eye infections and not wanting to go to the ER). But the doctor was jovial and cracked jokes with my bf while checking out his infection. Fast forward 2 weeks and bf's eye is totally fine. As an aside, I an Asian, but spoke English with the whole office staff. No communication problems. My bf is not Asian, and had no problems shooting the sh*t with Dr. Leung. read more

ATTENTION TO THOSE WHO WANT TO DO IMMIGRATION EXAM, PLEASE DO NOT GO HERE!!! I really want to give negative star if possible. Dr. Leung DIDN'T WEAR GLOVES when he drew my blood test. My wife got nerve damage from blood draw. They told us to do other blood test & urine test, then come back for the form. When we call, they closed the office and went on vacation WITHOUT ANY NOTICE. After several days calling the office, we finally had a hold of dr Leung. I told him on the phone please get everything ready so we can just pick up and go (as we only had 2 hours left). We ended up waiting 1 and a half hour. They screw up our form (Put my vaccination record on my wife's file and hers on mine). Thank god I checked. We almost couldn't submit the form on time (we had litterally 30 min left to submit). This is the worst experience I've had in my life seriously. Please read my review and consider carefully. They charge much more expensive than other clinics (we found a few others with only half price and very professional). This is a lesson for us, DON'T MAKE THE SAME MISTAKE. read more

If you're looking for an INS doctor then keep looking. Leung did my green card medical. He didn't sign the form so the INS issued a 'request for evidence' asking that the medical gets signed. That was one issue. By the time the form came back to me, it had expired and Leung was insisting that he issue a new form despite clear instructions from the INS that the original form needs to be signed. Leung got hysterical with me for disagreeing with him; he was throwing my original medical form around and then scrawled all over it. It was an unpleasant experience and I don't recommend his services particularly when the stakes are so high. read more

Had to use him to authorize my meds for a Green Card and he charged me $120 just to sign a form, which NONE of the other USCIS recognized doctors do. I didn't even make it to see the doctor because when I called to see about an appointment the woman on the phone was so rude to me. She refused to believe what I was telling her about my insurance and kept cutting me off. Finally she had the gall to tell me that maybe other doctor's weren't accepting me because I had a high deductible. No, actually I have a low deductible. I would give him a 0 if it was possible. He is my PCP who refused to give me a referral to an orthopaedic after I had been seen at the ER and had my paperwork. Did not answer his phone or return my messages and I was only able to contact him though my insurance company. Refused to see me till the next day and Said would not give me a referral. Worst dr I've ever seen. Called after I threw out my back and he wasn't even gonna be in his office for a week. Asked if he could refer me to someone else. He actually got on the phone and said it would take minimum 2-3 weeks to do that, so I scheduled an apt with him as soon as he could (a week later). I go in not able to stand up straight (for almost 2 weeks now) and tell him I've had back problems for years now, and he says he's going to refer me to someone else! He literally did nothing for me. No advice, no prescription, nothing except make me wait an extra week to do what I asked him to do over the phone a week earlier. My advice is if you are thinking about seeing this dr. Is, dont!!! Dr Leung is the most amazing doctor i have had for the past 20 years! My family has been with him for almost 30 years. He has been taking great care of my grandma, my mom, my dad and currently my family. He is not only a primary doctor, he also spends time to listen to me and eases my Anxiety. He treated us just like family members. I remember one time i got shingles, he went back to his office to help me although that was his day off. This guy is a crook! I went to see him 6 months ago for my medical check-up for my green card application. He took $300 from me, claiming that it was for deposit for the check up and treatments, and the money will be returned to me after 6 months. After 6 months I went back, he denial everything. He claimed that he never took the money, not his clinic policy, refused to give my refund. Not only this guy untrustworthy; he is also very stupid. He didn't realize that I'd given him a check and I could go to the bank and trace it. I had to waste my whole afternoon to go to the bank to find the prove documents. What a waste of time! I went to see this Doctor a couple of times and he doesn't deserve all the negative reviews here. Yes, office could use an overhaul. Everyone sitting around in a big square is kind of silly. But the doc is really nice, thorough, and is really easy to talk to and communicate needs. He's the kind of doctor who clearly sees a lot of patients. I have been visited in his office for few years. I would say Dr. Leung had experience, yet he did not have patient or his office only cared about the money, not the patients. He would ask to check something or do a service in his office, and then they would bill the insurance. Since I did not receive any billing from my insurance last few years, I was fine with it. However, they sent me a bill for the same service last year which was confused me. In 2019, they also asked patients to pay $120 deposit to ensure they got paid from the insurance before we can do the annual check in his office. This was ridiculous. What i felt was they tried hard to get money from the patients. Also, they used to have a rude young lady in the front desk who would make you feel bad. Worst doctor experience EVER. Had to use him for INS exam. Similar to someone else I endured hours(over various visits) of wait time despite appointments while an endless stream of Chinese people who arrived much later than me without appointments seemed to wander in and get seen. After the initial tests I had to go for further screening/x-rays for TB as the skin test came back positive. The doctor wouldn't even see me but an assistant with really bad English told me that 'there is scar tissue on your lung, it is safe but you have Dormant Tuberculosis'. I asked what treatment options were available and was told that there is a course of treatment that means taking medication for 9 months. I told the lady I would like to start on this medication asap. She told me 'I'm sorry but you are too old to begin this medication, we don't recommend it for people over 36 years old'. I had just turned 37 a month earlier!!!!!! I tried to get her to explain why the cut off was 36 and tried to get to see the doctor, to no avail. She did explain that I was safe and it most likely would not affect me until I was very old and perhaps never. For the next 5 years I carried this worry that although I wasn't active, there was always the possibility I could become active. When my wife got pregnant I decided to make sure I got treatment and get rid of this thing altogether so went to see my doctor(by this time I was settled here and had a REAL doctor). I explained my issue and told her I wanted the medication, of course she wouldn't give me medication without tests and x rays confirming my diagnosis. My x-rays turned up 100% completely clear, I asked if it could have went away by itself, she told me that is impossible as there would be scarring. At no point did I have Dorment Tuberculosis and yet this crappy doctors office told me I did. This guy should be struck off. read more

Long over due review. Stay Away From this Men. My 86 years old grandmother who is also a cancer survivor, can barely walk with a walker, always relied on relatives for taking her to see this men(Dr. Leung), low income and can barely make ends meet, she asked Dr. Leung to sign her application for handicap and he said he will charge her a $100 convenient fee. WTH??? Are you that money hungry to charge a low income elderly that has been your patient for over 10 years? My grandmother told him that she can't afford $100 for a signature then he told my grandmother to ask her social worker to sign off on the form... Now when does social workers be able to sign off on handicap forms... This guy would come up with many crazy excuses just to avoid signing the form or pay up. One of an epic excuse that I find interesting was. Since you (my 86 yr old, handicap grandma that can barely walk) don't drive, I will not sign off the form... Are you for real???? If she is driving with that health condition, at that age, I would be seriously concerned. ... No, you idiot, the handicap is for her grandchildren and children to use while taking her to see you and other doctors. Not to mention my grandmother was told to go see him every two weeks for some shots, in the past years, again she is very handicap. When I finally decided to ask him what kinda shots that he has been given my grandmother, he said nutrient. When asked him what kinda nutrient? He replied vitamin B. WTH, you made a handicap old lady to come to your office every other week just to take Vitamin B where she could have taken a tablet form at home. Is this about the money you can charge her insurance for every office visit?? I am surprised that he has not been investigated for insurnace fraud. Oh maybe he has... I don't know.. GREED !!! GREED !!! GREED !!! NEW IMMIGRANTS BEWARE !!! This doctor office charges $220 for completing the form I-693 and if anything the Immigration office request changes on the form I-693, the doctor will charge you $220 again. i have just checked other Civil Surgeon doctor office and they only charge $50 for completing the form I-693. The Office manager Judy is also very rude, unprofessional and greedy, it seems that she only cares about how much she charges you rather than your health welfare. My wife and daughter are new immigrants from China, I have paid this doctor office total of $660 to get the I-693 form for both my wife and daughter, and now the immigration office is requesting a chest X-Ray to be order for my daughter , so I went back to the doctor office and the office manager Judy is telling me that the doctor will charge additional $400 for looking at the X-Ray result and complete the I-693 form. This is totally ridiculous and what is worst is the office manager Judy is requesting my 8 years old to come to the office for 6 months for treatments, so I have to prepaid the office $80 per visit ($480 total) and that she will refund the office visit fee back to me once they claimed it back from my insurance company. Why in the hell would the kid need to go back for treatments if you have not even look at the X-Ray results???? I am an Asian and I feel so ashamed that this Asian doctor only care about money. Well, I cant review this guys office or his bedside manner, because, he did not show up! I had made an appointment with his office, and showed up 10 minutes before to fill out paperwork. Its one of those offices where you have to buzz to be let in. No one answered. The door was locked. I gave it until well after my appointment time, at which point there was a group of ten bedraggled souls standing outside. ALL of us had the same appointment time too. I was automatically assigned to his "care" by Blue Shield due to a mix-up, then read the other reviews on Yelp and was concerned, but he certainly lives up to his reputation as a terrible, terrible person. I've already made a formal complaint to Blue Shield. My interview to my green card was completely a success until the end, when we saw the medical report from Mr. Leung. His report was incomplete. Unbelievable! People make mistakes. I can understand that. The worse part for me is that when talking to him, he didn't took any responsibility. There was a change in the form a month before I took the exam. He knew about it, and did nothing. Did not told me to alert me, and did not change to the correct form. I would recommend not to take any service with Mr. Leung regarding a Green Card process, because the envelope that you have to submit to the USCIS with the medical record is sealed, then you cannot verify that the report is complete until the interview. You should go to a better professional. Don't waste your time and your money. read more

Have never had a worse experience at a doctor's office. My new insurance automatically assigned me this doctor. I made an appt because I was experiencing severe repetitive stress problems in my hands, arms, and neck from spending too much time at the computer. I was at a point where I was unable to type, chop vegetables, etc. I needed to get some physical therapy so I could continue to work. I made an appointment. I was made to wait 90 minutes in the waiting room while all of the Chinese pateints (I am not chinese) were taken ahead of me - even those who arrived after me. Each time I inquired about how long it would take, I was told to sit down and wait and nobody answered my question. I said I wanted to leave and asked for my co-payment back. They didnt speak good enough English to even have that conversation with me! Finally, 90 min later when I saw the doctor, he refused to write me a referral for physical therapy. He basically said "Phooey! I dont believe in physical therapy! Useless! Waste of time!" and sent me home without it. Fast forward 2 months, and my ophthalmalogist was trying to get a referral signed by this doctor. They called him multiple times and his office REFUSED TO GIVE OUT THEIR FAX NUMBER. What kind of a doctor's office refuses to give out a fax number, thereby automatically refusing all referrals? I would recommend that nobody go to this doctor. I am also contacting my insurance company so they can investigate this doctor and hopefully have him removed from their plan. read more

Doctors should NOT keep their hand on your knee through the entire exam. He also lifted UP my breast to put the stethoscope under it, then put his face very near mine and hugged me for too long at the end of the appointment. This guy is my doctor. He has a lot of bad reviews here. All I can say is that you will not find a doctor with a better bedside manner. I travel far, wait long, and put up with his medical group associations which aren't convenient for me, all to keep him as my doctor because he is one of the few doctors who actually LISTENS to his patients. He's also an extremely competent doctor and has more of a "country doctor" style than most. He is a rare jewel around here. Dr. Leung is someone who you feel is in the medical profession because he really wants to help people. WARNING! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME WITH THIS GUY! WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Found him on my insurance plan and called ahead of time to be sure they understood the plan. When I got there they didn't understand the plan. I set an appointment and 55 minutes later i was finally seen. The first words out of lueng's mouth was how he was late for a meeting in Chinatown. Really I'm late to be home cooking dinner for my kid now! He takes my blood pressure and writes a prescription. I start to ask for his professional opinion about a medical program I need a referral to and ask him to fill out a form, He says"I have an appointment and I have to go!" I tell him I just waited 55 minutes to see you please take 10 minutes and fill out these forms" and answer some questions I have about my health. He gets mad and says "Find another doctor I can't meet your needs!" as he gets up and walks out of the appointment. He just left me sitting there in the room and walked out muttering under his breath. They way over scheduled and I see greed and never have been so disrespected in my life from a health CARE? professional? He really didn't care and he really wasn't professional. I was assigned to Dr. Leung when my insurance changed to Blue Shield recently. I was happy that his office is near my home, but worried because I haven't had a male doctor for years and years. Also the reviews on Yelp were not positive, so I guessed I would interview him and see if there was anything that I could find to make me want to stay with him, and if not, I could ask for a different assignment. First good thing: I got an appointment a week from my call, at a time convenient for my job. Today I took my prescriptions with me, and a list of questions to ask. The office is modest, and staffed with bilingual administrative assistants. I was treated politely, and shown to an examination room overlooking Diamond Street. The sun was coming in, the tree outside the window was moving in the breeze, and I took the time to meditate a few minutes until Dr. Leung came in to see me.If you want a rush rush experience, maybe this isn't the best place - I waited a while - but I've waited longer at other doctors' offices. He was friendly and warm, and listened patiently to all my questions, answered them, and then said "Now it's my turn!" He has a sense of humor and is patient and a good listener, in other words, which aren't universal qualities in the medical world. He helped me with all the prescription needs, gave me referrals to specialists, helped me identify who to see for particular needs, and ordered blood work. I was completely happy with this doctor, and that's saying a lot coming from me. I recommend Dr. Leung very highly. His office is right across from Glen Park Bart, so it's convenient and it isn't corporate or intimidating. If you like down to earth, wise doctors I think you might enjoy Dr. Leung! read more

Dr Leung has been my family Dr for years. I have been through several different doctors before seeing him and all of them have trouble diagnosing me correctly. As a result, I was hospitalized every year for a minor digestive problem. When I went to see Dr Leung, he immediately figured out my problem. I needed some prescriptions filled, and he said two or three times that medicine isn't his specialty, yet he then tried to convince me that I didn't need them as I had been receiving them for years.
