Even though they were super busy, my husband & I had a GREAT time! Instead of waiting the 30 min for a table, we found a spot at the bar that worked for us. Bartender was super friendly/helpful. This place was just ok for me. We ordered a couple of salads and a couple of pizzas. The Caesar salad was good, but the other one (Italy, I think) was nothing special - I felt like we received a regular garden salad with a fancy name. The pizzas seemed a little under done to me. They actually tasted better the 2nd day in my air fryer. The manager did come out to apologize for one of our pizzas being slightly burnt on half and offered to make us a new one to take home. I think we would have preferred a discount for the one we did have, but at least he was ahead of the game when he brought it to our attention and had a solution for us before we even asked. If this location is convenient for you, it could be a nice neighborhood spot; however, since I'm not in the neighborhood, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here. read more

Pizza Palaces need a Beer Bestie and Martin City Pizza and Tap Room provides it all at multiple locations across Kansas and Missouri. Happy Hour is something to boast about here with a variety of beer as well as food specials. Another perk is joining their free loyalty program from 5-star. Just believe me when I tell you it's worth it. Now, this particular location is within Mission Farms in Leawood on the Kansas side, and it's spacious but doesn't have a sprawling patio like the namesake Martin City location does. But, all in all, the restaurant is rustic enough while also appealing to the tap room crowd because it has visible nuances of brewing beer. The menu here seems to be the same with an extensive rotating list of in-house brews and no domestic in sight! Don't come here in search of a Miller Light! As far as the happy hour menu is concerned, there are a lot of food options priced below $10. And don't forget on Monday it is happy hour all day. One of the best deals, in my opinion, is the one topping person sized pizza for $8, which is a full meal in itself with or without a beer on the side. For this, you get to choose either red sauce or white sauce and then any topping from an extensive list on the menu. I prefer the red sauce, but that's only because dairy and my tummy don't get along well, and the afredo sauce base is very heavy. Another fun surprise was the strong beer cheese and sweet, but still horseradish forward mustard served with the happy hour pretzel sticks. All the dishes offered are great pairings for the beer. Last but not least, the beer here is fantastic. I am inclined to always order my typical hardway IPA, but this time around, I branched out and went with the Coastline, and I wasn't disappointed. It was a pale ale and had a nice hop profile, but wasn't too bitter. They also offer a few "domestic-esque" beer varieties that are approachable pilsner and lager options. These can appeal to even the pickiest craft beer hater. Martin City isn't trying to be something it's not; it's family friendly, but it's still first and foremost a brewery and a darn good one at that. read more

Love, love, love! I stopped in for a solo date to one of my favorite pubs. I decided to sit at the bar since it was pretty quiet and boy did I enjoy myself. The bartender was a blast and suggested this magnificent cocktail, the Strawberry Basil Mule 10/10 great balance of basil and sweetness. It might be temporary so get there soon to try it out. Some friends of mine and I went to here on a Friday night. It was busy, but we were able to be seated at a table quick. The server we had was always checking in and helped us with the menu since we were trying to figure out what can feed 6 guys in their mid 20s. I got the paloma which was strong and felt a little watered down but was good overall. We built our own pizzas with one being pepperoni and spinach and a supreme style pizza that tasted amazing! I tried Martin City Brewing Company pizza for the first time this week at the South Plaza location and was absolutely blown away. There is nothing like it in KC. This evening, I wanted to share this amazing food with my family, so I ordered from the closest location to my residence, Mission Farms. The delivery was handled through a service called Toast. The order arrived missing items (most notably the pretzels with beer cheese with special mustard), and the pizza was cold. I called the Mission Farms location and was helped by a fantastic manager in training named Shawna. She was immediately intent on making the situation right. A short time later, Shawna herself arrived at my home with a hot pizza and everything else I ordered (those pretzels and beer cheese!). I can't say enough about the overall quality of Martin City's food, but the service is above and beyond. Thanks to Shawna, my family is a customer for life. read more

Cheese sauce was clearly homemade and really was one of the best Mac and cheese dishes I've ever had. For a meal, you can order the veggie pizza, ask for dairy-free cheese instead of mozzarella and ask for the pizza crust to not be brushed with butter. You can also order a Taste of Italy salad. Replace the cheese with dairy-free and ask for the balsamic dressing instead of the feta one. Made a trip to Kansas to see our old buddy get married, and lo and behold our hotel is mere steps away from Martin City brewery. My better half and I decide to have a bite to eat and enjoy some adult beverages. The tap room is nicely laid out with ample room and even has an outdoor space that connects perfectly. Isaiah our server was the bomb! His pleasant smile and demeanor was just what we needed after a long hike on the nearby trails. We ordered the small Spinach and Strawberry salad with chicken and soft pretzel pieces with yummy cheese and beer mustard. The order was out pronto and can you say magnificent. Along with the food I ordered two "shorties" of delicious beer nectar. I enjoyed it so much that I ordered two more. If you enjoy Saisons, then try their Survival Blonde which magically employs some farmhouse yeast that brings out the clove and banana flavors. If you're in the area, please stop by. Laid back casual Tap room restaurant, that is family friendly. We had a very nice waiter, who was helpful with any questions we had. The menu was not your typical bar food menu. Salads, mac & cheeses, pizzas with unique combinations, sandwhiches and wraps. We started with the Tuna Tartare. Which was tasty, but seared. We are used to non seared tartares. But the sauces made up for the difference. We decided on pizzas for lunch. My husband had the 8" Thai Chicken Pizza. Thin crust pizza with peanut sauce, chicken, red peppers, red onions, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, cilantro, scallions, crushed peanuts, broccoli and sriracha. I decided on the 8" Apples in Italy pizza. This pizza has a thin crust with garlic alfredo, apples, sausage, olive oil, goat cheese, and crushed candied pecans. My only issue was that it needs more apples. Both pizzas were filling and we even had leftovers. We will definitely be back to try more of this unique and creative menu. read more

Pizza, wings, and beer are three of my favorite things and Martin City does all of these well. Great spot for foodies and beer lovers. I typically stick to pizza and wings for food, but I need to branch out and try the sandwiches. I have my eyes on the open-faced meatball sandwich. Martin City is obviously crushing as exhibited by their quick expansion with new locations opened recently. With that said, it can get very busy. I recommend getting a reservation on OpenTable if you're planning on a visit. Check out Martin City's website for happy hour times at each of their various locations. The Mission Farms location is the one I frequent, but I'm crossing my fingers for an expansion with a south OP location. We came here last Saturday with our son for lunch. It's definitely a family-friendly place. My husband had the Buffalo chicken pizza, I ordered the chicken pesto sandwich (which came with a side of homemade truffle chips), and my son had the kid's cheese pizza (which is pretty big). All the food came out quickly and the prices are definitely reasonable. We are also part of the free beer club, so we got 10% off our meal (if you haven't joined already, you should!) I have lived in the KC and Overland Park area all my life and I don't recall ever trying Martin City Pizza & Tap Room even though it has been around for quite a few years and they have several locations. I didn't grow up going to pizza places which somewhat has carried on into adulthood. I've always heard good things about the restaurant but it never had been the right time to go. I have tried going to this Martin City Pizza& Tap Room in Mission Farms once before on a weeknight but there was about an hour long wait until a table was free. I knew in the back of my head that I'll try it one day. Tonight was the day, my friend and I were trying to decide on where to eat that we both could agree upon. I wanted to go somewhere not to far for either us when we part ways, somewhere I hadn't gotten a chance to try, and needed to have beer since it was a hot August night. Once I mentioned Martin City Pizza & Tap Room my friend spoke up plus she's the easier one to please in comparison to me. Staff: We were greeted by the hostess with a smile then promptly were taken to our table. Our waitress quickly gave us water to sip on while we decided if we wanted an alcoholic beverage and/ or food. Even though she was busy serving other customers I felt like she had wonderful table touch skills. My friend and I both sampled two different beers before making a final decision. Our waitress was quite helpful when making the final decisions on our beers and food. Beverages: - My friend had two 16oz pours of the Per Diem (Golden Ale) which she enjoyed due to it being a light beer and she seemed unable to sip it fast enough. I think she would had another but...a) I am an extreme light weight with alcohol in comparison to her b) she didn't want to consume more than 2 times the beer as me. - I had the Double Berry Sour(Fruited- Sour Ale) which I loved it's tartiness with hints of blackberry and raspberry notes of flavor. The coloring of my beer matched the berry flavors with tints of pink/ purple. It was tastebud -puckering fantastic on a hot August night. Food: - My friend ordered the Bruschetta for an appetizer due to the fact she loves it and was craving it. The bruschetta had 5 slices of crispy crostinis with the perfect amount of pesto with a lot of small pieces of tomatoes, minced garlic, basil, ricotta, soft mozzarella, and shavings of Parmesan then topped with a balsamic glaze that gave the dish an eye appealing touch. She ate 3 of 5 crostinis before our pizza arrived. - We split a well-done, 12" Thai Chicken Pizza (total of 6 medium-large slices) with peanut sauce, chicken, red peppers, red onions, shredded carrots, shredded cabbage, cilantro, scallions, and sriracha sauce. The combo of ingredients that made up the pizza was something I could not get at many places and it made the experience of eating at a pizza place adventurous. FYI I am glad I didn't have a bite of the bruschetta due to several reasons. 1) The people making the pizza were definitely not shy with the toppings. I cut my pizza slices with a fork and knife to make them small bites, then smothered my bites with red pepper flakes and I could still happily taste every one of the toppings plus the sriracha sauce. I finished my entire half of the pizza and secretly eying her last slice since she made the rocky mistake of ordering too much food. Atmosphere: The vibe of the restaurant was easy-going, family style pizza place. It had the multiple tvs like a sports bar(plus the bar food) and seating at the bar but it was light and fun without making it weird to bring kiddos there. I can confidently say that it is worth coming by and giving it a try. I look forwards to the next time I eat here again or one of their other locations. Don't just take my word for it, Martin City Brewery was started in 2014( review written in 2022) which means in 8 years they have maintained 5 locations even after the COVID pandemic. read more

I always have a good experience here. The service has always been good. The beers are what you would expect for a brewery (don't knock my socks off but are solid craft brews). The appetizers are good. I usually get the honey & bacon Brussel sprouts and the Tuna Tartare. You will never go wrong with the pizzas here.
