The holy trinity or mind, body, spirit connection! We stumbled upon the brewery by stopping by the Lota Bait store, which is also fun, and noticed their name listed. All we had to do was walk behind and sitting on a nice piece of land with shade trees, picnic tables, lots of chairs, fire pit and a stage for music was heaven. There's a pick up window for your beverage orders or you can go inside for their home brew, seltzers and cocktails made with Tom's Town Distilling spirits. That morning they were making homemade waffles, plain or with bananas and walnuts, one of each please, and their utensils came wrapped and are compostable. Can't wait to spend an evening there after having fun on Lake Lotawana or if you live close enough you're lucky. This place is sweet!

Bar & grille food isn't usually supposed to blow your hair back, but Saints has a lot of fried options that seem under-seasoned and slow to be delivered, sooo not exactly prime. The servers are friendly, but if they have to cover the patio and the bar/dining room, then it's not a surprise that things move slowly. It's a great spot to meet, given that it's just off of I-70, but join for a drink & maybe an appetizer, and my guess is that you'll come to the same conclusion: it's just...OK.

They had a really good smoked porter that would pair perfectly with some bbq. And they also had a blackberry lemonade seltzer that was refreshing and perfect for this summer heat wave. There is a story for much of the art work which I will not do a disservice by trying put it in a review. Go there, see it and ask they'll gladly share the story. Second, INCREDIBLE beers are on tap. I tasted 10 during my visit and every single beer was worth trying. My faves were: Freshly Squeezed Blueberry Lemonade Wheat, Apple Pie Milkshake IPA and Calliope Caramel Cream Ale. Finally, the most important part of the operation is the people. Every single person that was present made me feel welcome and like I was already a part of their community. WOW, I was left feeling like I'd made new friends which I know I did. I travel to KC at least once per year and every year I will return to support this awesome brewery. The menu has a few familiar faces - Eggs Benedicts, biscuits and gravy, breakfast sandwiches, chicken and waffles and more. I liked the biscuits and gravy, but I absolutely loved the Burnt Ends Eggs Benedict. The beers are solid and feature something for everybody. I wish they offered an extra seasonal, but I understand a brewing schedule that features quick moving draughts. A small note - please watch your check. Some of the prices in the computer don't match with the menu. The staff - who were awesome - were also apologetic and moved to make corrections when notified.

The music theme lines the decor, with cassettes (remember those?) from all genres featured. Friction always has some of their own makings on tap as well as guest taps that can range from regional to national. The board will list the ABV for each beer, as well as the pour prices, and you can choose from anything between lighter ales to heavier stouts. I prefer the darker stuff and really love their 'Train in Vain', a brown ale with fabulous body. Don't miss their fresh-hopped varietals, such as the recent 'Earth & Sky', which gives you that right-off-the-trellis hoppiness. If you're not sure what you want, then the makers will always give you friendly suggestions. They're proud of their offerings and that pride comes through in the beer.
