Once again Martinez Painting HD did an amazing job on our home- we had interior walls painted ( kitchen,family room,living room, stairwell and upstairs hallway. We had all doors and trim inside painted, and the stair rail. Also, the major transformation was them painting our kitchen cabinets. I like supporting local businesses and because of the reviews I wanted to give it a try. I called to get a quote for my paint job. The person I spoke to sent out a guy he was great, polite, professional. The company markets they do repairs, he let me know because of 1 bad experience with an agent they were no longer making any repairs. I waited over a week and I decided I would follow up because I needed my project completed in a timely manner. They didn't answer the two times I tried them the person who uses that number text me asking for my information to check who I was. The fist time I called he text me back letting me know he was too busy to send the estimate. He would send it later. He obviously forgot. He never let me know how long the quote would take or that there was even a wait. I'm an agent. We're all busy but this was just sloppy. It should have been said from the beginning and I would have another team complete the repairs. Which I do have and it would be a 2 day job. Instead he decided to waste my time. Finding someone else is no problem. This is to show that in over 10 years of full remodels on all types of homes and multi family properties from LA to the High Desert this has never happened. I'll keep this review short and sweet as it seems like the other Yelpers have already sung enough praises about this company and I'll just explain my experience. Martinez Painting painted the entire interior of my 1585 square foot house except the bathrooms, doors, and ceilings for $1175 and did a great job at it. Before the house looked drab and worn and now the house feels and looks alive and rejuvenated. I'm going to see if he can do the doors and bathrooms in April if I decide its appropriate. It looks like in a couple of years, once I've saved up the money, I'll have Martinez painting paint the entire exterior of my house. My husband and I were in desperate need of some help painting our living room/dining room and kitchen before the holidays. We found Martinez Painting and decided to try them out. From the very first phone call to the last day of work, we could not have been happier. German came and gave us the estimate, left us samples to look through and wrote out the contract. He was super easy to communicate with, and when we finally picked our colors he came over and did a sample patch. When the top layer ( we wanted a sponge effect done) wasn't the color I wanted, German helped me pick out two more and came back the following day to do more patches. I received a estimate from German to have some interior painting done back in Oct,2019.The estimate he gave me was over my budget for 3 10/10 rooms a staircase and some touch up work.(2,490.00) I reached out to Martinez Painting via text to discuss what adjustments we could make to my project to bring the cost down.no response. This year I contacted Martinez painting about a new project. They sent a guy out to give me a new estimate and he was very lethargic yawning and seem to be uninterested in my business. He questioned me about my pass estimate and I told him that I wanted to make some adjustments and receive a new quote. I guess with this company it's take it or leave it. No more than one estimate. My issue is don't show up to someone home and play preschool games no time for that pretending your taking notes to email a estimate then send me a estimate from Oct,2019.What type of clown business is that. I recently hired these guys to paint the entire interior of my home, and they are fabulous. The job was finished sooner than quoted, and the owner, German, came by twice (once to walk through the job with me and a second time to address a minor issue). Without prompt, he touched up a few places the carpet installers had blemished, and when I pointed out some questionable paint spots, he patiently educated me without being defensive on the difference of old paint versus new paint (a few years ago, I had the home painted by someone else but never noticed the flaws until recently because they're more pronounced now since the home is bare and unfurnished). Then, he went through the home and reversed some of the old paint when I wasn't looking! Now THAT is the act of someone who really cares about his craft and wants every customer to be satisfied! I highly recommend German and his crew for any paint job. He was a tad bit more expensive than the competition (and only takes cash/check), but all of these five-star reviews speak for themselves. You want pro's? Hire Martinez HD painting. My wife and I bought a house in Apple Valley (we currently live in Downey) the walls were a bit ruff and the popcorn ceiling was old and ugly. I called on a Thursday and spoke to the owner German. He said he'd be over in a 1/2 hour to give me an estimate, half an hour later he was at my door in a company truck with his logo and contractors license # painted on the side. I explained to him that we wanted the popcorn ceiling,retextured and repainted also wanted the walls patched and painted. He was very professional, extremely polite and cordial. He gave me a 2 day timeline and a very good price. But like a good consumer I got 3 quotes from different companies. That night I discussed the estimates with my wife over the phone and German price was by far the best, plus I felt very comfortable with giving him my keys and letting him do the job. I spoke to German and told him we wanted to move ahead with the job. He told me to call him when I was at the house the next day to sign the agreement. I called on Friday he came over around noon I signed the work order and gave him the keys, he didn't ask for any deposit like all the other guys did. He told me they would start Saturday morning and be done by end of the day on Monday. Since we had a paint sample and a color swatch he had the color matched in Sherwin Williams paint. Saturday morning 2 uniformed painters in a company truck came layed plastic sheeting over the floors and got to work. I arrived at around noon, they had knocked out about 50% of the ceiling. These guys were great they were all work no music playing. With all older houses you are going to find unforeseen problems and there was. Apparently the ceiling had been painted under the popcorn so it was harder to get off and they couldn't finish texturing it that day plus the weather wasn't cooperating it was too cold to set the texture he called me Monday morning at my house in Downey and told me what the problem was he was very sorry and he needed 1 more day. I told him not to worry about it, to take extra time and do it right. On Tuesday morning I drove back to Apple Valley to see the house and meet with some other contractors doing different projects around the house (framing and electrical work Etc:). When I walked in they were about 90% done painting. You couldn't tell there had been a popcorn ceiling before and the walls looked great except a slight ruff patch that German noticed on the walk through inspection later that day and he had the guys fix it on the spot. (attention to detail). The crew finished painting and doing touch-ups.They cleaned up, swept the floors (even the mess the Fios guy made) they hauled away all the garbage and returned my key. I gave them each a tip for their hard work. (the guys were friendly respectful and hard workers). The next day German called me and came by the house to settle the bill for the original price quoted. I gave him a check for the job and a $100 bill. He asked me what the $100 bill was for? I told him it was for the great job that they had done and to offset some of the labor cost because of the delay. (I didn't want the man to lose money) He was so humble and didn't want to accept it. I told him that's the way I do business. I reward people when they deserve it. He said thank you and that he would give the money to his crew."they earned it not him" I would hire Martinez Painting HD again in the future without hesitation and I'm going to recommend them to all my friends, family and anyone I meet who needs a paint contractor. Last minute decision to paint inside a home that just closed escrow was the best decision with Martinez Painting. Painted family room, kitchen, hallway, 3 bedrooms with closets, and 2 bathrooms. Cesar and Jesus did a terrific job of correcting bad patch jobs and uneven textures. They covered the tile floor with plastic, wrapped door knobs and fixtures and taped light switches and outlets. They did a great job of cleaning up once they were finished. Cesar walked through the house with me to make sure I was satisfied with not only the paint job but the clean up as well.
