Once, I even pointed at the person fighting and causing problems and the officer looked at me and said "Well, I didn't see it." Nothing like abuse of power. Once upon a time I went to school to be a police officer. My mentor at the time told me to never apply or work for the sheriffs dept. They are a bunch a of good ol' boys and you have to be in that group in order to get hired or fit in to that click of cops. After all these years and just disappointment after disappointment from them, I agree. Recently, I needed a temporary restraining order served. They waited until the last moment to serve the paperwork even though I submitted it at least 3 weeks prior to the court date. At my court hearing the judge even commented on the slowness of the service by the sheriffs dept. Because of the last minute service the person I was serving didn't get their response in and submitted through the court in time. The proof of service date was proof enough for the judge about timing and she accepted their response even though it didn't go through the normal channel's of the court system. So anyway, the point is lower your expectations. I'm glad they are there in the event I need the sheriff dept's assistance but don't expect exemplary service.

The spot I found was dangerous and cars were whizzing by. I jumped onto a drain pipe, afraid to get into my car, and waited for help. FORTUNATELY a CHP officer arrived, and calmed the situation, friendly, courteous, and professional, then asked whether he wanted me to stay. He handled the whole situation, perfectly, even helping the tow truck get away safely, etc. This officer and office needs to be commended, for sure. On my I-Phone she required me to make a wrong turn and she failed to give the right directions it was a blessing! I finally made a wrong left turn one block before Castro I was so done. My makeup looked okay that everyone was avoiding me because I wasn't trying that hard to be on your team or whatever and miss out! Surely I thought it was just a slice of her negativity and I would be on my way. How positively fitting of her to help me find my record because I was a fighter! The new 21St Century official birth certificates is kind of a legacy. My bus driver told me I would get in there okay. My bus driver knew I live in a world of manipulation and lies and to someone nice would be there to help serve me. This requires a waiting list perhaps, but definitely worth the wait. Field trips include the Police Station, a visit from the Fire Department and hands-on wonderful science experiences some of which include planting as well as watching the metamorphosis of butterflies. As a grandma, I was aware of the joy and excitement my grandson would exude the day of school. Thank you to Kathy and Lisa for making our community experience so memorable. On two separate occasions, I've been given incorrect or incomplete information, which resulted in me making unnecessary trips over an hour round trip only to find out things were not handled properly. This process is already time-sensitive and stressful, so having to deal with avoidable mistakes and miscommunication only adds to that burden. During my most recent visit, the paperwork was even completed incorrectly and had to be altered afterward, which did not inspire confidence in the accuracy or professionalism of the process. I understand that questions may come up, but there is a noticeable lack of consistency and preparedness that makes navigating the system much more difficult than it should be. Additionally, the tone and attitude I encountered felt dismissive at times, which made an already frustrating situation worse. I'm sharing this because I believe the court system should provide clear, reliable guidance, especially for individuals trying to follow the proper steps on their own. Right now, that standard is not being met in my experience.

But C'est la vie Below are the details of my experience! No one likes it when a cop pulls them over, but can you imagine a cop making a false accusation against you, when you merely went into the police station to ask a question on how their department handles hate, bullying, and cyberabuse?! I went to the pleasant hill police station to ask how cyberabuse and bullying is addressed, and wound up being falsely accused of an incident that never happened, the way Officer Downs described it. First, Officer Downs explained they don't do anything about cyberabuse or bullying, they can't, there's nothing they can do, EVEN if someone dies b/c of it, whether it's suicide or another way. :( And the police aren't even sorry or apologetic for the loss, according to Officer Downs. Officer Downs then asked if I remembered him pulling me over on a rainy afternoon and finding contraband in my car. He made that accusation twice & when I denied that the incident ever happened, because I've never done drugs or had an interest in even experimenting with drugs, Officer Downs asked 'Why he would say the incident happened if it didn't?' Of which I replied, I had no idea why when that incident never happened. The ONLY interaction I have ever had with the Pleasant Hill Police, besides that day was, one night when it was raining, I was in my car idling in the bollinger shopping center, a police officer pulled up behind me, left the headlights shining into my car, walked over & asked if I was ok, said he was concerned b/c there had been some things going on in the center, asked for my license & what I was doing, if I still lived in irvine, etc. I proceeded to let the officer know, I lived in the apartments behind the shopping center, not in irvine anymore. Officer Downs asked why I couldn't do what I was doing on my phone at my apartment and I told him, the apartments weren't safe nor private. Before he left, he told me to be careful. In the course of police station conversation with Officer Downs I mentioned being self employed at one pt in time, prior to the bay, but in pleasant hill I wasn't allowed. Officer Downs made the strange statement that if I applied now, my application would be accepted, he was sure of it ~ why would he know what biz apps the city of pleasant hill would accept, was he one of the reviewers?! There was never any search of my vehicle, no drugs were found in my car, couldn't I don't & have never done drugs, not even curious. I returned to the station, shortly after leaving b/c if officer Downs was being truthful, there would have been a police report, there wasn't one. I requested to speak to Officer Downs superior to make a formal complaint against him & his false accusation. Officer Downs superior at the time, told me 'You're right, no drugs were ever found in your car' & I'll ask officer Downs about his claim. The officer asked me about irvine & I said I loved irvine, he said 'we're a good bunch too, just give us a chance' ~ I'm not sure why that officer didn't think I'd give the police a chance, I had only lived in the bay for 14 months, why would there be any issues. Nobody wants to have issues with the police. It was a strange statement to make to someone he had just met. Anyhow, officer downs superior did ask, the reason for my visit and I explained what was going on in the sun valley apartments, the WiFi stealing, everyone knowing what I was doing on my phone or where I was going without me ever telling anyone, & the conversations between my neighbors about me & private matters never shared with anyone. The officer said for me to come back when I had more substantial evidence, as though hearing the the tenants in apt 58 & justin france in apt 60 talk about what i was doing in my apartment, where i was going, who i talked to & about, what i did on my phone, what i watched, the places i was going & more, wasn't enough. it was pretty damn obvious that these tenants were evil enough to know what i was doing 24/7 w/o actually living in my apartment. Yet, the officer i spoke with didnt think it was substantial enough to do anything. Its probably b/c he just didn't care. It was a violation of my tenants rights & rights to privacy ~ but even the property management didn't care ~ they must be connected to lafayette east apartments management, b/c they don't care about their tenants rights or rights to privacy, either, with all the illegal entries someone made with a copy of my apt key, and no approval from me to enter my apartment, w/o me being present ~ it's obvious that the only thing that matters to these apartments is profit, not people

My hearing was set to December 2023, and two business days before our hearing, I received a text message informing me that all hearings for that week have been rescheduled to April 2024. I called and asked why this happened and was informed that the judge was out of the office. I've already waited months for this hearing and now I have to wait even more months to be seen. I was also told that if I wanted to expedite the hearing then I had to process an ex-parte, but of course I had to file those documents and pay the ex-parte fee. This really sucks. It's always nice to have good people like them at the counters and I think everyone needs to be more respectful to these people If they're not being rude to you. I saw several people today be rude to the women working there and I just wanna say I appreciate the nice service during a hard time such as handling court matters and stressful situations for a lot of us who are truly using the system because we need to. Thank you for being kind to people because I truly appreciate it. Dealing with stress and meeting a nice face behind the counter to make my situation go smoothly as possible is a true blessing everyone working today was nice including the sheriffs and I appreciate that more than they know ( except one time one woman working there 2 years ago was crazy and sent me out side to sign all my papers while it was super windy. I always am respectful. but I was so frustrated and embarrassed to be kicked out. then all my papers blew away. I had to run to get some and some even flew into the bushes. It was really dumb and not cool at all to have me sign restraining order paperwork in front of the building on a windy day. Then , I go back into the building and the old sheriff stopped me because he said I can't be signing in there and I was so shocked he even involved himself. And then funny thing is I wasn't even signing it still. pen police. And that you have two EXTRA copies of your papers. Just print them. They will ask for copies off all main paperwork And double check everything before dropping them off here
