I'm fairly new to the game, and Marty was the first coach I've seen for lessons. I didn't know what to expect, but had high expectations given all of the great reviews here. I'm very happy to say that the gains I've seen have exceeded anything I thought would be possible. Marty is a great instructor, very knowledgeable about the game, and provided a number of helpful techniques, drills and swing thoughts. Before starting with Marty, I had a bad slice, especially massive with my driver, and never felt comfortable hitting any of my longer clubs. I just played a round where I hit 10/14 fairways (usually that number would be 1-2) with no lost balls, and most importantly getting off the tee is something I look forward to now. I've been playing less than 2 years, have a high handicap, and was tired of having these wild scoring swings from round-to-round (more bad than good). Marty was quickly able to identify some of my main issues (there are several) and started to work on some drills during my first lesson. After my 3rd lesson, I played one of the most satisfying rounds in a very long time. Although it wasn't my best round ever, it was the best I've scored in a long time and the missed shots are things we hadn't worked on yet. Marty is very patient and was able to isolate small changes to my swing to dramatically improve the end result. Like some of you, I had this fear of a coach who would want to change 100% of my swing and that I'd spend months just getting back to where I'm at with a better-looking swing, but that wasn't the case. Here are my tips for getting the most out of your lessons: 1. Get the 6 pack of lessons (at a minimum). While you may see some improvements with less, make the commitment since everyone learns at a different pace. 2. Practice, practice, practice. Don't plan to show up once a week without playing or practicing in between and really expect to see the improvements you want. 3. Bring a good attitude. Golf is a very humbling sport and it's very easy to get frustrated. Put aside your pride and listen to the direction he's giving you. read more

Marty is an excellent golf instructor. I was in a major golf slump, was frustrated, and honestly strongly considered quitting the game. I had no confidence in any of my clubs, I was snap hooking just about every swing. I went to Marty for lessons and he was able to analyze my swing starting with the basics. After seeing me hook first hand he had me make a grip adjustment and I started hitting the ball a bit better. I went home and practiced swinging over and over again with the new grip until it felt comfortable. Once I got used to it, I was finally hitting the ball flush on the face of the club and getting good ball flight at the range. My confidence improved after that lesson and my very next round lighting struck and I hit a hole in one!!! Had Marty not talked me off the ledge and helped me I would have quit and would not have this amazing memory to share. He really does understand the golf swing and is very patient and easy going. I have been playing golf for some time now. I was in need of more consistency in my golf swing and game. I have taken a lot of lessons from other instructors that really never did to much to my game, I saw a lot of great videos of what I was doing wrong but not too much fixing/hands-on, and watching YouTube videos really did not do a lot for my game cause I was changing everything and then found myself haven changed so much I was lost. I told Marty when I first meet him that I only bought one lesson because I wanted to see what he could do but also, "do we click". you have to click with your instructor. That was all it took, one lesson for me to see the WOW factor and right of the bat seeing an improvement in my game of what I was doing wrong, but also what I was doing right. Marty brings decades of experience in golf instruction, an amazing eye for what to do to improve your swing, and a light-hearted and reassuring attitude that puts you at ease. I noticed a vast improvement in my golf game in just the first few lessons, and probably a 300% improvement (if not more) over the last couple months. Unlike many other instructors I've seen, he also will take time to help you build your short game (putting, pitching, chipping) so that you are course ready.
