I chose the personal training option with Branden but there are other options and his wife and business partner, Remi, is available too. It's now December and I'm down just under 20lbs. I'm feeling good and strong and confident again! 2 days a week and 45 mins per session has me like this. A personalized meal plan is included. 7 days a week, 3 meals a day and sometimes a snack because I work long hours. The meal plan includes all nutrition information so I know what I'm putting in my body and even includes a shopping list! Branden is available when I have questions about anything from scheduling to where I can purchase an item on the meal plan and he makes recommendations if I need it. I have never once felt judged or guilted by Branden. He is totally reasonable with expectations. My husband and I do date night dinner and drinks once a week and Branden has been super supportive of it. The gym itself is very clean and the other gym goers are nice and welcoming. I feel like it's important to mention there are times when it's just me (a woman) and Branden (a man) alone in the gym. I have never once felt creeped or weirded out. Overall, I'm very happy with my decision to reach out to Elite Fitness.

When the pandemic hit, I could not get into digital classes. I missed the energy of being in a studio, and without it, I stopped showing up for myself physically. Fast forward to now. After moving from San Francisco to Oakland, I tried a few studios. They were fine, but something was missing. I would leave with the mental and spiritual benefits, but physically I barely broke a sweat. For me, that is only part of the equation. Then I found Left Coast Power Yoga. Within the first 30 seconds of my first class, just hearing the instruction, I knew I had found my place. If the word "power" intimidates you, it did for me too. Do not let it stop you. And if you are looking for that physical intensity, you will find it here. They offer both ends of the spectrum and everything in between. Some classes I leave completely drenched, like I just stepped out from under a waterfall. Others I leave feeling deeply aligned, structurally sound, and grounded with just a light glisten. Both feel equally valuable. If you are on the fence about booking a class, book it. Classes often fill up, and you do not want to be the one stuck on the waitlist wishing you had committed. I have never once regretted going to a class or getting a workout in. I have absolutely regretted the internal dialogue that comes when I skip for reasons that felt valid in the moment. I am fully hooked. I joined mid-March. It is now six weeks later, and I structure my days around getting to class. I have shifted social plans to make it happen. If I have to choose, I am choosing the mat. Both locations are incredible. Every instructor brings something different, and I have yet to take a class that did not deliver. Yes, it brought me back physically, but it also delivers on all three pillars I care about: mind, body, and spirit.

Have not met one yoga teacher that I have no cared for. The vibe is chill, happy and friendly and their studios are immaculate. The yoga teachers are great at correcting when in the incorrect positions. I love that. Think that I'm taking five classes this week. My body is so happy and singing opera. Finally I found my spot. Highly, highly, highly recommend. ‍

I take the cardio-kickboxing class and can truly say it is a kickass workout at a fabulous deal…read more Sifu Doug Jones runs you through arm and booty-sculpting drills, fantastic ab-work (he sneaks Pilates in there!), then tops off with circuit training - bag work mixed with strengthening exercises. Believe me, there is no cure for a tough day at work like beating the crap out of a bag. (Or, at least, trying to.) Truly. Another thing I like is that Doug just doesn't teach the same routines again and again, he changes it up week to week and goes around checking each student for technique - and effort. :) Classes are mostly female, but men work out with us, too. Not a problem either way - sooner or later all the genders are sweating equally. You can buy a book of ten classes for $75; $7.50 a class! (That's the great deal I was talking about.) And then, after I became a regular, there was the plus of Doug and classmates always being glad I showed up. For me, that's an added inspiration to work out. **Addendum**: I started taking the wun hop kuen do classes here in November 2007, and I have to say it's totally transformed me. Not only am I in better shape, but I come away from each class learning something new about myself. Enlightened, even. No, seriously - even if in a small way. Sifu Doug Jones has a stellar background, and is amazing and incredibly motivating. Sihing Damond brilliantly balances technique and practical application. Our other instructors--Sihing Sinclair, Sisuk Teresa, Sisuk Tray, and more--are all extremely knowledgeable and helpful. I know there are many good martial arts schools in the bay area, but I feel very fortunate to have found such a great school and community.

He's an awesome, inspiring, encouraging and attentive trainer. The great thing is that he always meets people at whatever level they are at, and brings them to the next level. So when I've been out of shape, injured or just not feeling great, he's helped bring me up gently, and when I feel strong and healthy he really pushes me to incredible places. It's all great. I have to respond to "The O" who gave a 1-star review based on the "sketchy" neighborhood, but who has never attended an actual class at this place. Umm? I've been coming to the gym for years, at all hours of day and night, and have NEVER felt unsafe. How irresponsible to post a review like that. PLEASE IGNORE.

I have been working with Tatiana for about a year now, and I can only report great experiences…read more From what I know the Hendrickson method is a revolutionary method itself in the field of orthopedic and recovery bodywork, but in addition to that Tatiana applies it with much skill, intuition and empathy. The most amazing part of it is that one can experience results (positive changes) immediately. When I say immediately I mean even within one session. I had an old rotator cuff injury, which had healed long ago, but there was a reduction in range of motion ever since. Within the first hour of treatment about 80% of the range was regained. Tatiana also found remnants (muscle scar tissue) of a childhood injury that I have long forgotten, and she worked out the old scar tissue, creating a change that is hard to describe but in summary made movements more fluent and easy. The most noticeable thing that sets Tatiana apart from other practitioners I worked with, is what I think they call "quality of touch". While she's adjusting muscles and joints with confidence and in a very energetic and way, it yet feels gentle and receptive to feedback and applies immediate adjustment in intensity if needed. The other unique quality of her approach is that she doesn't only provide treatment, but at the same time teaches exercises that I could continue doing at home at my own pace (and no extra charge!). Altogether, It has been a great experience, a progress that I couldn't imagine both in speed and extent. Though my issues have been corrected I still come back once or twice a month for a checkup or adjustment. Worth every penny.

For example, he knew things about my life without me telling him. And he looked for the level of light in my eyes and half moons in my nails, and qi in my voice. And he assessed the pattern of my tongue, and vitality of my pulse. I learned so much in one session, such as how my pulse on my wrist compares to his. - Asks about almost everything in my life, and more importantly, if I know the root cause of my issues. - Is intuitive and respectful.
