I didn't have much time to peruse coz hubby was hurrying me up. By chance, met Paul, our neighbor (about a half a block away) who was busy minding the store, dressed sharply and welcoming, friendly. Most of the food that was prepared from home is written in Thai, so I inquired what's in the containers. Hubby chose the shrimp & rice, I selected the pork meal. There was so much to see & I wanted to but more but that's just being greedy lol. I picked up dessert as well. I would love to come back to check out the rest. I waited for a while and received no assistance so I asked the guy for help. The man did not speak Dutch so I explained to him what I wanted (salami deli meat). I asked him for a pound of deli meat. I went to shop around the store and noticed the fridges were empty as were the isles. After a few minutes I came back to the deli counter and found my uncut piece of meat (in tube form) placed on the weigh scale? To my dismay I asked him if he was going to cut it with the pretty slicer machine near him? I mean that's how it used to work and how it works at any other deli meat counters. As the man cut the salami I continued to shop and picked up a jar of silver onions that looked brownish ( the onions inside the jar) and I thought well maybe they are supposed to look this way. Maybe they were a different type of onions. When I thought to look for an expiration date again to my dismay I observed that it had been expired since 2023. Unfortunately I purchased extra pedas chili which looked ok but when I got home I found out that it has been expired since 2018 (please see attached picture). This wasn't the worst of it though because we found a jar of something with leafy green bits that had been expired since 2013. Yes 2013! Bro! You think I should try the chili? You think I'll survive? This place has gone to the pits. Hopefully a health inspector straightens this place out. Furthermore when I got the salami back the slices looked as if my he deli meat cutter blade was very dull.

So I stopped by to get an ice Americano. The vibe of the coffee shop is very nice. Open layout study rooms perfect if you want to study or if you're going to meet up with friends. The other thing is the barista was very friendly and inviting. I should have known when I asked her if they had ice coffee, she said yes and responded with we can make you an ice Americano, which it's not the same. However, I decided to order an ice Americano. The other thing is I ordered a turkey sandwich which was very good and had a lot of favor. By the time, when my order comes out, I take it to my car and start drinking it, I started sipping my coffee, not realizing that I had coffee grounds inside, I was already late to work, so I did not want to go back or to make any fuss about it. Which couple hours later I just wanted to call the store to ask them if they can remake it or if there's anything that can do, they do not say anything about that and not acknowledge that my coffee was pretty much coffee grounds, and water. Which I was very sympathetic and told them I don't know if they calibrated the machine in the morning because I can in the morning. At the end of the story, she said thank you for letting us that our machine is not calibrated and she said goodbye. I really like this place I like the vibe I like the small family Business own. but if I'm gonna receive a terrible coffee order with a side of terrible customer service it's not worth driving here. At this point, I would rather just go to Starbucks and save myself a couple dollars. Unfortunately, the owner was very disrespectful throughout the conversation. Instead of listening or trying to resolve the issue, he repeatedly asked, "What do you want me to do?" When I calmly asked what their usual process was for handling order mistakes, he became even ruder and ultimately hung up on me. Everyone makes mistakes, and I understand that. What disappointed me was not the incorrect order, but the lack of professionalism and respect when I tried to address the issue. Customer service is just as important as the food, and based on this experience, I cannot recommend this business.
