I've had a great experience every time I've come here. The shop usually has two barbers working, and I've gotten haircuts from both of them. They both clearly know what they're doing and take pride in their work. The barber at the station closest to the door is especially excellent. She is very detailed, careful, and takes her time to make sure the haircut comes out right. The finishing touches are also a big plus: hot shave, eyebrow trim, and even a quick shoulder massage at the end. The place is small and nothing fancy, which I actually prefer. It's straightforward, comfortable, and easy to deal with. I also appreciate that I don't have to download an app just to make an appointment. I stopped by Mari's Barber before 4pm and the door was locked and a lady said that they closed at 4 pm instead of 5pm. I told her what I need to get haircut and the sign says closed at 5pm . Why did she closed at 4pm . They should fix new sign time ! I am really disappointed read more

I needed my beard trimmed up for my Mom's home going service on Friday. I've been passing by Mary's twice a day for 11 years. I went in to get a gentleman's combover, had a nice conversation while feeling at home. She did an amazing job and pretty fast with fine detail. Was cool to have a massage, lineup with mustache trim, and an eye brow trim which would normally be an extra charge elsewhere. The price is unbeatable, leaves plenty of room to tip well. read more

Maru's Barber and Beauty is one of Riverside's hidden treasures. Maru is one of a kind, and a sweetheart. Her booth has 4 or 5 different electric clippers (maybe more) all plugged in, displayed nicely, and used often. I was impressed with how invested she is with making an individual's hair look awesome. I received a double zero high fade and she took care of every single hair on my scalp, not missing a trim. The atmosphere is comfortable, complimented by a pretty diverse playlist coming from her Bluetooth speaker. On top of that she uses warm towels and other fine beauty supplies. I brought my boys here by necessity, because my regular barber was too busy, I couldn't find parking. I had been meaning to try this place out because it's close to home but old habits die hard. I entered and was warmly greeted by three beautiful women. The aura is fantastic and warm. The ladies faded my boys beautifully and fast. When we first met my wife was going through chemotherapy for breast cancer. She asked my wife's name and my permission to pray for her. After cutting my hair for years at home it had been forever since I'd stepped foot inside a barber shop. I walked in early morning no wait, was welcomed to a chair right away. Easy going atmosphere with attention to the details on your head. The standard service included a razor cleanup which for me is what sold me, especially for my neck. They also trim up my unruly eyebrows and tame my mustache, all part of the cut. And to top it off they leave you feeling like a new man with a scalp massage with a very gentlemanly balm, and a should massage. Again all part of the standard cut. It may not be the nicest little building, but don't judge the book by the cover in this case. I walked in and was given a seat and a quick hair cut (exactly the kind I asked for), then the lady cutting my hair said she uses a straight razor to clean up the edges (provided a super clean finished look). Then she mentions, "part of our service is to give a little neck massage." It was a minute of pure joy! Then I got my hair rinsed, and she says, "Oh yeah, another part of the service is a little scalp massage." Ok, I'm starting to think, "how much are all these extra 'services' going to cost me?" At the end I was surprised to see that the whole experience was well under $15. Unheard of for almost any barber shop that owns a straight razor. This is a great little barbershop! Only two people were working and there was only about 5 feet of walkable space in the shop, but don't let the looks scare you off!!! The haircut was exactly what I wanted, and there's a wall of styles of cuts they can do. They also do eyebrow trim, mustache trim, ear trim, straightedge razor for the back of your neck, hot towel and head/neck massage! ALL OF WHICH IS FREE with the $10 haircut!!! I had an appointment in the area but me and my husband were desperate to get hair cuts so we yelped on. It is a very small place with two lovely ladies. At first I thought it was just a baber shop when I walked in but we asked and they said they also do women's. (they also do brazilian blowouts as seen on their sign). Before I decided to go on with my hair cut, I watched how the women of Maru's shop worked and it really showed how they put effort in work making everything perfect. They deliver finesse work. I then decided to go on with my haircut. Asking for a 2in trim to my bob. Miss Maru cut in small sections making it look as perfect as I think it did. I am very pleased with how me and my husband's hair cuts turned out. If only we lived closer we would make this place our regular haircutter. My husband's haircut $11 my haircut $14! Worth the visit. We were recommended this place by my boyfriends brother, I'm doing this review for my boyfriend who only comes here for haircuts after getting his first cut 3 months ago. He sees Maru who is the owner. Both lady's are very friendly and welcoming. I like that they ask what he likes(length and style), they also trim and line up his beard, line up the back and I especially like that they pay attention to detail. They'll even trim the eyebrows (my guys passes) oh and they include a hot towel massage at the end which is nice! We don't make appointments but are usually seen fairly quickly and they never 'rush you out' when people are waiting. I would recommend it to my brothers and dad anytime! read more
