The xray he needed was conducted with him hardly noticing, because he was watching a disney movie on the TV on the ceiling. Dr Kevin used this mobile x-ray wand and it was objectively cool. The only downside is that the practice is in very high demand, so scheduling as a non-emergency patient for regular cleaning, is delayed at first, before your child is on the 6 month rotation. My 2yo daughter had her first dentist appointment here, but I honestly think it was overkill to have her at a specialty practice like this just to acclimate her to general dental cleaning. For this reason I think we will switch the kids back to our family dentist eventually. Dr. Kevin was also easy to communicate with outside of appointments and I could ask questions through a patient portal and include pictures. He was very responsive and helpful; it was nice to get a "gut check" from him, to know if an appointment was needed or not. Their online services are modern and intuitive. All in all, a wonderful high-quality resource for Fort Wayne and extremely kid-friendly. If your kid was freaking out over regular dental x-rays like mine was, it probably won't be an issue here.

If they hand out referral cards to dentist offices around the area, they should really also inform those offices when they're not accepting new patients to alleviate some stress.

Dr. Creech tried to give her sedatives before filling in her cavities. The procedure was unsuccessful, as my daughter went absolutely hysterical. A relative watched her while the receptionist sent me to the treatment room for Dr. Creech to explain what had happened. He didn't even show up even after 30 or 40 minutes. Finally, we gave up because it was unbearable to have my daughter behave uncontrollably because of the sedative. We were all angry by then. Later, we went to another pediatric dentist, and he successfully filled in her cavities. If your child needs cavities filled, look for another dental group.

I was told Dr. Wright was the pediatric doctor and would only see my son on a Tuesday or Thursday. That's fine. I told the front staff when I called that he's in tremendous pain and I want to get him in as soon as possible. She let me know that the soonest available was a month and a half out, but that's just a consultation visit and they won't do any fillings or fixing. I practically begged that since we have to wait I would like them to actually address some of the cavities that first appointment. She spoke with the doctor and said they could do that. I spent that time researching and doing everything in my mama power to heal my son at home as holistically as I could. What I did was working and my sons pain went from a 10 to an occasional 5. Thank God! When we arrived to our appointment (May 5) and the staff wasn't exactly happy or encouraging of my son at his first appointment. Wright eventually comes in his room, doesn't greet my son, doesn't strike up conversation with him or even slightly attempt to make him feel comfortable for his first appointment (which I made known). Wright took the X-ray, looked in his mouth (baby teeth) and told me his top teeth have several cavities and his bottom do not- they're perfect. "In my 30 years I can't say I have seen this before." I mentioned that my son is ready today to have Wright work on them and he so kindly (lol) said that he can't because he has to go to lunch. I said I would really like it to be addressed as I had requested when I made the appointment originally and he had been in pain so it only makes sense we do even a little bit today. "Sorry it's my lunch you can schedule at the front desk". I asked Wright if I could show him what I have been doing at home and if he had any additional suggestions. I brought up hydroxyapatite tooth paste, supplements, oil pulling, xylitol, etc. His words immediately were "Oh that's all anecdotal. That's anecdotal." So basically I get a doctor laughing in my face, a mom who just wants her baby to feel better, has done her own research, desperate to affect change while admitting I am not a dentist and I need his help. He left the room, without a word, never said 'good job buddy' to my kid and I said "Oh... just walk out and not say anything? Strange.." I brushed it off and while my son was in the prize room I over heard Dr Wright discussing down the hall with another doctor about my sons appointment. I heard "Yeah she said she's using hydroxyapatite and I told her that's anecdotal it's just your opinion haha!!" I grabbed my son, went to the front desk and Wright walked past me so I stopped him. I asked him if he found it appropriate to gossip about a patient while they're still in the building. If he thought that his behavior would be perceived as professional to a mom that just over heard him. I asked him why he couldn't have just waited til I left the building. His response was hilarious and a lie. "Oh I was talking about a different patient with dry mouth." And for the first time he actually looks at my son in the face, gives him a high five (because he was embarrassed and called out) and says if we need any anti biotic then we can call in the office. *insert eye roll* Needless to say, I cancelled all future appointments and was happy I got a follow up text to leave a review. Whether or not you agree with any holistic approach to dental work, do your research and find a dentist that isn't creepy, doesn't have horrible bed side manner, actually acts like he enjoys working with children and doesn't sh*t talk you the second he walks out of the room. 0/10 would not recommend.

The dentist came in said it looks good. That night flossing it I could feel the gap there. Sure enough went to another dentist to evaluate and said it was cracked. Absolutely as good as it gets!…read more I was in need of dentist for my 2 year old. I had heard enough dental horror stories to know I wanted a pediatric dentist. When I first moved here I heard some parents say Auburn Pediatric Dentistry was a good place to go, so given it's the only pediatric dental facility nearby I decided to give it a shot. I spoke with Jenny on the phone, who was extremely professional, yet friendly (the best combination in customer-oriented field). She was detail-oriented and smart enough to verify that our scheduled time was not during nap time (a brilliant question to ask!). She gave good advice as to what to tell my daughter about the upcoming visit and when I had questions to ask I didn't feel like I was being hurried off the phone (invaluable!). Jenny emailed me the forms to fill out ahead of time and then I also got a reminder call a week in advance. I believe our appointment was about two weeks from the time we called, so that seemed like a reasonable time to wait for an opening. When I first heard the dentist's hours I thought "well that's typical!" Meaning dentists always seem to have a truncated work week. However, in the next sentence, it was explained that the days that Dr. Derrow wasn't in the office was because she was doing work at Riley's Children's Hospital and the like. Okay, well, see, this is why you shouldn't jump to conclusions. She wasn't off getting her nails done--she was helping really sick kids. So today was D-day. After reading Dora's "Show Me Your Smile" book a dozen times we headed over (it's very near the hospital). Everything about their office is geared towards their patients; they even have an alligator mailbox! We walked in and saw my daughter's (first) name listed on the Welcome Board. What a nice little touch! We were given a warm welcome by Jenny when we signed in. The fish tank (Nemo-themed) and kid sized tables and chairs were greatly endorsed by my daughter as we sat in the waiting room. They do have a policy about not being seen (potentially) if you are more than 10 minutes late. I think we got called in right around 10 minutes after our scheduled appointment time. (I would have a problem with an office where you can't be 10 minutes late, but they can. Not that I think the clients should be late. More so, I believe the doctors/dentists shouldn't be either!) We were taken back by Megan who did her best to elicit a smile from my daughter by taking the time to show her the treasure chest and the paintings of the underwater scenes through out the office. She did a fantastic job of talking to both patient and parent and in explaining what was going to happen in child-friendly terms. Dr. Derrow was a blessing! She took several minutes before getting started to talk with my daughter and asked questions that are 2 year old-friendly (Do you have any dogs at home? Are you in a big-girl bed or still in your snuggly crib?). She even had grape-scented purple latex gloves. How cool is that? What told me this was a place to have as our "dental home" was when my daughter started to cry (it's virtually inevitable at this age, isn't it?) and I began singing, "Wheels on the Bus" and I was joined in by not only Megan, but also by Dr. Derrow. Everyone in that office goes above and beyond to make your child feel cared for and welcomed. So many people congratulated my daughter on her first dental visit (even staff that wasn't directly caring for her) that it felt like she had a cheering section. Moreover, all of the staff seems to get along with one another, as well, and it shows. Oh and Tracy was extremely pleasant and super helpful as we were paying and saying goodbye. I even ended up with a good recommendation for Chinese food on my way out! One thing I might do differently, though, is just to pick up their dental brochure before going in for your child's first visit. The pictures show what the office looks like and there are photos of Dr. Derrow to help your child know what and whom to expect. Over all, I will absolutely be recommending this office again and again. Auburn is very blessed to have them here.

Then wants $6,000 up front before scheduling and after talking to several friends and family members this same place has been doing the same to others since they have opened in 2006. I would not suggest taking your child to this woman and then when you tell them you can't afford to pay that much up front they criticize you and talk to you like you are an idiot.
