I called our orthodontist in Oklahoma to see if we could make an appointment for when we returned. Our orthodontist was going to be taking his vacation once we returned, so we would have to go see another orthodontist that would be covering while he is on vacation. His office staff suggested that we try to find a local orthodontist that might be able to see her while we are still in Decatur, so that she did not have to stay uncomfortable while on vacation. I called one office and it was going to be $150 to clip a wire. I called a second office and they were going to charge $360 to clip the wire. My best friend and her husband suggested that I call Decatur Orthodontics, so I did. Allyssa was my first interaction with the office. She was kind and super helpful. She was able to get us in right away. Our visit was less than 5 minutes once we arrived. The office staff was helpful, kind, and extremely efficient. The office was super clean and very organized. They were kind enough to take care of this for us as a complimentary service. If we lived in Decatur, this is where we would go! I never write reviews but today I had to tell the staff members that I had a bad experience. As I was getting treated by Dr. Meagan she did not show any sympathy for my inflated gums. She had 4 other patients and I get it, it's lunch time. She acted like she wouldn't even give me the time of the day. She told me to still wear my aligners with inflamed gums. I told her that I was not satisfied with my bottom teeth and they have shifted. She just told the tech to scan me and walked away. She didn't give an actual fuck. Also, the tech that was working with me was very sweet. She asked Dr. Meagan 2 questions and Dr. Meagan didn't even answer her. While in front of me, the patient. Then when the tech was trying to explain why I was being seen today, she just interrupted her and moved on to the next thing. I have never in my life seen a provider be so unprofessional. The receptionist Valencia provided a perfectly dismissive and condescending tone via phone explaining the company's policy. This is my first time requesting this option and learning this facility does not offer it. However, this is not my first mild experience with this same receptionist. During my second visit the doctor placed one additional bracket on the very last molar of each side of my top row. One bracket broke shortly after I arrived home. I called the office. Valencia answered the phone in a frustrated manner and gave me a difficult time as I explained the reason I needed to be scheduled for an emergency visit to trim the excess wire poking my jaw. The first representative of contact displaying a high lack of concern in resolving rather simple problems is concerning to someone who receives treatment here very frequently. Thankfully, additional staff members continue to display professional customer service with patient inquiries.
