This place is filled with liars and frauds. They will try to rip you off any chance they get. 1) Look at how many fake 5 star google reviews they have. They're trying to bury their shameful practices. 2) I had perfect teeth six months ago at my last dentist. Suddenly I come in here and immediately need multiple fillings and crowns. Dr. Hubcheva's reasoning was "well a lot can happen in six months". Straight up fraud. 3) They will add bogus charges even to a simple dental check up. I got charged $41 for 'oral hygiene instructions'. This was equivalent to the dental tech telling me I should floss better. Since when is that a charge?? Liars and frauds. They sent me a bill 1 week after service ask me to contact my insurance company to pay them in 2 weeks. My insurance company later told me that they were supposed to wait to send me a bill while the insurance company was processing the payment. Also, I told them before I came I changed my employer so my cleaning count restarted. They also confirmed it would be covered. They just don't care about wasting my time. read more

The hygenist, Mary, was not friendly and spoke to me in a condescending manner. She rattled off prices for things before even explaining in detail my dental condition. These people were far more interested in squeezing me for cash than in my health. That's how they made me feel. I went back to my old dentist for a second opinion and had a totally different experience. Turns out I don't need any of the procedures Midtown Smile Center would have me undergo. I rarely go to the dentist for more than a cleaning every few years because it terrifies me but Lasagna put all my fears to ease I forgot I was even at the dentist it was like chatting with a friend. She even convinced me to come back for the recommended treatment. Dr. Nikain was great and even though I need a good little bit of work she wasn't alarmist at all or pushy about it, made me feel very comfortable and safe in her hands. read more

I have been going to midtown smile center for the past 10 years and I have never experienced any sort of discourteousness from any of the employees until today. Corine was rude to me, she belittled me, and she spoke ill about my husband. I simply asked her to inform me next time if there were going to be additional charges that were not going to be covered under my insurance. She rudely told me that is not her job, and that it is my husband's job to inform me of cleaning services he consented to without fully understanding what they are and whether they are covered under the insurance. She proceeded by saying, "You need to allow your husband to be a grown-up" insinuating that my husband is not a grown man. She has no idea what sort of things my husband is dealing with mentally but decided to attack him with slander. I honestly cannot believe someone like this works for midtown smile center. I will not be going there ever again. They lost a customer of 10 years. It's so unfortunate because I enjoyed Lazagna and Dr. Nikane who cleaned my teeth with such care and love all these years, but I will not tolerate disrespect from anyone. I went to this dentist for a few years and was always happy with my services. When I changed employers, I got new insurance that would not cover this provider and had to move. My last visit was in January 2022, where I had a crown done. Went to my new dentist who I have built a great relationship with and recently had some X-rays done because I had pain and bleeding where that crown was. They discovered the margins were off and recommended that the a replacement crown be put on and that I should reach out to the previous provider and ask for a refund or to redo the work. So far it's crickets. I've approached this professionally and asked for call backs and responses via email. They have been provided my X-rays by myself and directly from my provider. Unfortunately I've still heard nothing. It's a bit disheartening because now I'm paying an additional $600 to have something redone that unfortunately was not done the right the first time. I have complete faith in the providers and understand things do happen, but it sucks that we cannot come to a resolution. Because of that I could not recommend this provider. read more

Went here for a clean, and up with a a deep clean because of some gum problem. Kind of expensive, but I actually appreciated they've done something about it instead of nothing from my previous dentist when I complained about my gum. Staffs were ok to deal with, but I love the hygienist. Didn't catch her name, but she was professional and affords her honest advices. Inexperienced and poorly trained dentists. The hygienists and dental assistants are nice and polite. However the Dentists are very bad. Went in for a filling it was done in less than 10 minutes by a lady who was in a rush. I went back a few days later and Doogie Howser told me she was no longer with the practice. He redid the filling and after it was worse than before pain on a new area of the tooth that wasn't there beforehand. Upon returning a third time he told me I had a crack in the tooth( that wasn't visible...yeah right). Because the Dentists rush around and try to treat 3 or 4 patients at a time they treat it like dental Hells Kitchen with 4 pots on the stove. He told me my only option was to pay $1200 for a crown that I didnt need. When i tried to rationalize his bs causation stories he squirmed like a worm on a hook and told me those were my options take it or leave it. I left and will not return. I advise you to seek out a real Dentist not this place. I'm going out of state to my original dentist who has 30 years experience because I never had 1 problem with him. My experiences with the dentist and hygienist were pleasant. The billing department, on the other hand, is awful and may even be engaging in fraudulent practices. They tell you one thing when you come in ("everything is covered by your insurance!") and then bam!, you receive a bill for thousands of dollars. They lied to me repeatedly about costs of procedures. They charged me over $2000 for a simple dental cleaning. They said it was covered by my insurance, but my insurance only paid $500. A lot of the charges are extremely questionable and look inflated. This is a predatory company that should be avoided at all costs. read more

The hygienist was very welcoming and communicated well. Very technical in her work and not sloppy with the tools as I've experienced from other dentistries. She explained everything along the way and even got into the details of insurance information. Not often you see this. The last point might be due to the sub par customer service of the front desk. Please note that this review may be slightly biased, as I have never been one to dread going to the dentist like most people. There's nothing better than the feeling of freshly cleaned teeth. Anyway - my weirdness aside, I was very pleased with my first visit to Midtown Smile Center. I recently moved from out of state, so finding a new dentist was a top priority, as I don't like waiting more than 6 months between visits. Everyone I encountered at the front desk (both via phone and in person) was very kind and helpful, which was a pleasant change given other receptionists I've had the (dis)pleasure of talking with. As for the actual appointment - I had x-rays taken, a cleaning done and an exam by Dr. Golik. Although I was out in under an hour, I felt like everything was done very thoroughly, and my mouth felt great when I left. No pain/unnecessary poking whatsoever. My hygienist was very knowledgeable and outgoing (and made sure to not ask any questions requiring more than a head nod as a response!). Call me crazy, but I am looking forward to my next visit in 6 months! TIP: I didn't see anything about parking on their website, so I called prior to my appointment to find out. If you park in the deck at 999 Peachtree, the front desk staff will validate. (this may be obvious to ATL natives, but being from Chicago, validated parking is hard to come by). read more

On the positive side, this office is well located if you work in Midtown. On the negative side, they can't even read X-rays! They told me they saw a serious problem on my X-rays and that I needed to see a periodontist immediately. They recommended one who was out-of-network for me but the Midtown Smile Center dentist insisted this guy would be worth the extra money. So I went to see the periodontist in his elegant Buckhead office. It took him 10 seconds to see that the "serious problem" was just a shadow on the X-ray (!). However, while I was there he charted my gums and said I would need gum surgery that would cost me $5K out of pocket. This despite the fact that I had no bleeding, pain or other problems; get regular dental care; brush and floss religiously; and no other dentist has ever thought I needed gum surgery. I told him I'd prefer to find someone in-network. So I found another dentist who said there was no sign I needed gum surgery. I've been going to Dr. Marson for 10 years now. Dentist offices are not my favorite place to be but Dr. Marson got me back on track and I don't have any of the issues I used to have. I now just go in for cleanings and never hear any bad news (root canals, cavities, etc). The office is in Midtown right next door to the Metropolis, and is friendly, clean and modern. They keep up to date on the latest techniques/equipment and they take all major insurance. They have all the bells and whistles like TVs to watch while in the chair, etc. Highly recommend! This office is generally filled with friendly and fun staff. I have yet to have a bad experience. I only see one hygienist because she's just great and beyond personable and she doesn't hurt me! My dentist is Dr. Nikain and she really personalizes your visit. She doesn't rush through and leave you with unanswered questions. She also referred me to an outstanding oral surgeon. I've been a patient of Midtown Smile Center for a few years now and I don't plan to leave anytime soon. My decision lies solely on my Dental Hygienist, Lazagna. I am one of those dental patients who gets her teeth cleaned 4x a year. Every time I walk in, I am greeted by a smile from the front desk team Pricilla & Justin and then here she comes a ray of SUNSHINE aka LAZAGNA to bring it on. She is very delicate, informative, and very easy to communicate with. Her advice on dental care never fails. From what I gather & have seen over the years it is a place to work and the patients are treated like people not money. The most enjoyable part of my visits is knowing how much everyone at the office is caring of MY health and willing to go the extra mile. I know going to the dentist is scary for most of us but trust me LAZAGNA is very comforting and her spirit is over the moon. I am sure the hardest part of her job is getting the patients to understand the importance of Oral Hygiene care; trust me she has a mothering touch. I've visited twice, and will never return. A terrible business I would steer away from. I was wrongfully charged for my first visit and haven't received my refund despite 2 months passing and 5 request for my funds. I have spoken to the office manager Nikolai - and he's the most unresponsive and unprofessional manager I've interacted with. Avoid at all cost. Additionally, after my initial cleaning and followup, I was told no notes existed on my profile and the hygienist had been fired. When I called for my refund, I was told again, no notes exist. I hate the dentist but love this place. Fast, friendly and affordable. I saw Dr. David Mccollum for an infected cavity. Treatment called for antibiotics, root canal, and crown. Dr. David talked me through everything. The entire staff was friendly, knowledge, and helpful. By far, one of the best dental experiences I've had. I received a call from them a few months after my appointment and they informed me that I owed them money from a procedure I didn't have. I requested an itemized statement so I could understand what I was being charged for. They haven't provided me with a statement and now a collections agency is contacting me. I filed a complaint with the BBB and they never responded to it. Midtown Smile Center is a pathetic business with no customer service skills. Stay away and find another dentist. read more

I recently went to Midtown Smile Center to have them complete an implant which I'd started at my dentist in another state. I was nervous to change dentists like this but didn't want to fly across country, so did some research on Midtown Smile Center and decided to give them a try. I asked for an estimate on the phone when scheduling the appointment and was surprised that it was lower than my other dentist quoted me. So I didn't count on this lower figure but scheduled the visit anyway. They did a full cleaning and I was pleased with the service. At the end of the cleaning I was given an estimate or "patient plan". My out of pocket cost was much higher than the earlier quote, but only 10% more than my normal dentist so I asked them about the difference. They were unable to show me the original estimate, but we determined that there had been an error in the amount insurance would pay so I went ahead. There was also a mixup on timing for my new crown, which delayed my travels by a few days, but the staff worked hard to minimize any inconvenience. Dr. Steven Wingfield was my dentist and I can't say enough good about him! He was assuring, informative, friendly, and did a great job at each step of the seating of my implant. (At one point I needed to have a laser procedure, which I which Dr. Steve helped me in feeling very little.) Dr. Steve did a fantastic job and I feel like my mouth is truly restored again! I can chew correctly again and my implant feels like a real tooth. I would unconditionally recommend Dr. Steve to anyone! In general the entire team was friendly and efficient and I felt at home. I would give Midtown 5 stars except for the two logistics items I noted. That said I recommend them and will visit them again when in the area. Thank you, thank you to the team. read more

Went here for the first time for a cleaning as I recently relocated back to Atlanta. While the hygienist was good, I will not return due to approach of Dr. Aguilera. She lacked any sort of bedside manner. Instead of asking questions to understand the accident I had as a child and the impact it had on my front teeth, she said I needed a mouth guard because I'm grinding. She went for the assumptive close, checking a box on my chart to schedule me for a fitting. When I checked out, I declined to schedule the appointment and will not return to this dental factory. read more

If you are just looking for a routine cleaning, this is a decent place to go. I really liked my hygienist--she was super sweet and fast and never patronizing. Just don't go here for orthodontia. Let me tell you my horror story. A year and a half ago, I asked for Invisalign and this office gave me the knock-off brand Bioliner, which they said work better. My treatment got progressively disappointing from there. It was difficult for me to make appointments or even to get ahold of the right person to pay my bill. When my bioliners came in to the office, they never called to tell me--I had to call every couple weeks and ask for them. They'd be like, "oh sure, we've had them a while. Oh. I guess you want an appointment to come get them." durrrr. Then it got worse.... This year, I paid for a year of treatment up front and received my first set of bioliners. Then I went in for new impressions for my next set over 3 months ago. I never got the bioliners. I called and called. They said the'd call back and didn't. I called. They said they lost them. I called. They said the had them, had me come in to get them--and it turned out they didn't have them after all. They shrugged. I called again. They said they were still at the lab. Finally they said they sent them to their Buckhead office and sent me on a 30 minute drive to get them there. Ok fine. PITA. At THAT office the dentist, a very sharp retired gentleman, was so disappointed in my care ("they call me in from retirement because they are inept") and in their use of bioliners ("those don't work"), that he told me he could not treat me and I'd need to get a refund for the treatment ("I'll be in the back drinking vodka"). The dude was a real character and I really liked him. He sold his dental practice years ago and was disappointed at what it had become. The bad news: my teeth are still crooked and I've maxed out my orthodontics coverage, so I can't try again. The good news: they did give me a refund for my out-of-pocket portion, so they are true to their word. And the retired dentist should be in a biopic, he was SO INTERESTING. I don't want to go to his dental office any more but I'd love to buy him a drink and listen to his stories. TLDR: paid $2,000 out of pocket plus $2,000 in insurance to get my teeth straightened and was routinely forgotten about and finally denied service. But the hygienist was decent. read more

I have been going here for a several years, but I think it's time to start looking for a new dentist. If all you're in need of is a standard cleaning and the location is convenient for you, Lazagna is a great hygienist. I highly recommend her! She is friendly, kind, and gentle if you need it. However, I recently had an issue come up that required a bit of care other than a standard cleaning and bit of a "squeeze me in please" appointment. I was absolutely railroaded in the appointment into a treatment that I now suspect was likely beyond what I actually needed, but who would know given that I could barely get the doctor or the hygienists attention while I was there. I am now stuck with something that will require maintenance throughout the rest of my life that perhaps was actually completely unnecessary. But I also cannot undo it given the prep they did to my teeth for the treatment. So now I not only feel like this office did me wrong but I'm beating myself up a good bit for allowing myself to be railroaded. So here's hoping it stays a simple issue going forward and that they didn't absolutely destroy my teeth. read more
