As we were driving down I-35, this park was super convenient and only half a mile off the highway. My most favorite feature was the up and over ramp. Cause I go up, and then I go over. Other notable features include a fire hydrant, and hydration station with bowls for both me and my parents. The grass was very thick and luscious, with the perfect post-rain storm dampness for me to graze my snout across. It was simply paw-fect! I hope my mom and dad bring me back here soon.

Teddy is a bit of an old man who had been kept inside with a little sickly old woman most of his life so he doesn't really know how to "dog" so to speak and won't run around chasing or playing with the other doggos much. He does like to sniff and is pretty happy to be in a place where he can be off his leash for a while since I live in a condo with no yard to speak of. The handful of times we have come, there haven't been many small dogs and I'm almost tempted to take him in the side meant for large dogs as a lot of them seem friendly enough.

Sometimes they get a bit messy, and it would be nice to clean them before heading home. Love the community feel of the park. Everyone sort of knows everyone and most of the dogs are regulars so we know the temperaments of each dog and which ones may get too rowdy so we can avoid that beforehand. Other than that, it's a really good park. Plenty of space, and most of the small dogs come to the big dog side and have no problems playing with the pups over there. Would be nice to put a small pavilion of some sort for some shade, especially for the elderly people that come in with their dogs. But all is all, it's a big park and we love it.

The property managers keep the grass well maintained and doggie bags stocked. There is a pond in the back that is open seasonally. The locals that come always seem to be nice and pleasant to chat with. In 5 years I have only witnessed a handful of times owners that have been irresponsible or disrespectful to the rules. Best time to come for socialization is weekend in the morning. All other times there are none to a few people at the park. Highly recommend this venue for engagement or a good sniffing time! :)

Everyone is always really great about picking up after their doggo. You can count on at least one dog fight on the big dog side if you stay more than an hour or two, other than that, the big dog side looks pleasant as well. My dog has never picked up any ticks, fleas, or illnesses that I know of from here. She stays up on her vaccines and prevention meds too, so I'm sure that helps. The park has a large parking lot and a big facility with water fountain and bathrooms (for the humans, obviously). There are clearly posted rules. Took a ride out here to check out the water levels with all the rain. You could tell where the…read morewater had breached the roads but it was down so all the main roads were passable. Once down to the marina area and several of the parking areas were underwater as were some of the camping areas. There were still people out enjoying things as the sun was out but more rain coming. This is a really nice area when it's full and lush with the water at normal levels.
