I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS SCHOOL! I have been going to this school for 3 years, 6-8th grade. There are some amazing teachers but you would get lucky if they even gave you them. The school is a horrible place to be. I hated every minute of it. At the end of my e8th grade year I had to go on Independent study because it was so over whelming. The kids who go are very rude and not given proper interventions. I was a great student. All A's every year, I took high school classes in my 8th grade year. So much I have done to be perfect yet the school was still horrible to me. I never got in trouble or got a lunch intervention in anyway but during my 8th grade year we had the Grad Night field trip to universal studios. I got in trouble right before that for telling the truth about something that happened. I was the only one who got in trouble as well. I had to get taken out of my leadership class, get all my classes switched, I got suspended, and my field trip taken away that I payed $120 for while the others girls still got to go. This is a horrible place to be. In my 6th grade year I had to get a pedo teacher fired and sent to prison after 12 years of harassing little girl, me being one of them. The school handles nothing and never listens to their students. There have been countless times where teachers or subs have been upright disrespectful and rude to student saying things like "you should go k*ll yourself." If you think your kids will be safe at a mountain school you're very very wrong. If your kid is a good kid and gets jumped they do NOTHING to discipline the attacker. They are ONLY concerned about getting money from your child being in the school everyday paid by the state of California. Hence "perfect attendance awards" they get money every day your child is there at the beginning of the day. Not late or they don't get money and your child is punished... It's UGLY and unfortunately we're getting our lawyers involved as we learned they are some rules of theirs in fine tiny print most people don't read. Glad I have lots of time to read. Take you kids to the private schools but stay away from Rim public schools AND Rim homeschooling. Yes... they still get money if your child goes through their homeschool system. Shame.... This school is a piece of work for sure. There are so many horror stories about this place, it's not even funny. I attended this school 6 years ago when I was in 6-8 grade. It was bad then, but it's only gotten worse. They've had to fence the entire school in which isn't totally crazy but all in all Drugs, sex, & VERY poor staff/teachers are the top 3 worst things about this school. Middle schoolers having sex in the bathroom, an Excess amount of drugs being sold/used on campus & the teacher are horrid. They simply don't care about their students. It's sad. Fortunately there are a few good teachers & it's not impossible to be a "good kid" at this school but I would highly advise parents to consider NOT putting their child in this school if they have shown ANY behavioral problems in the past. read more

Not a terrible school, just flawed. Most stories of the "raging drug abuse and sex" are greatly exaggerated. The truth is that if you don't put yourself in those situations you won't even come close to entering them. And there is definitely nothing bad enough to cause any severe mental strain, such as anything on the level of PTSD. I left the school two years ago when I set off to high school and I will admit my experience was flawed and bad, but that's most every middle school experience. 3/5 stars, mild discomfort in the grand scheme of life read more
