It's a vast open beach with no shade and it's beautiful! Unfortunately for us when we went the wind was so incredibly wicked it was like an getting assaulted by the beach the second we walked onto open sand and it whisked my sons bucket down the shoreline which was tricky to get back lol so we didn't last long lol if the weather was better I imagine we could spend a day there. Bring a lunch and when you're ready go shower clean up eat and let the kids play at the park!

It has some facilities and there are picnic tables, but this is also the kind of island that has a lot of mosquitos so I would be heading towards the beach. This area has some inland water that is apparently permanent enough that they've put pontoon bridges over it, which is kind of cool. The beach here is a little bit wider than on other nearby areas, so the tide is not forcing you to literally sit on a dune and you can walk around the surf fishers. So it is a decent ocean beach, if still on the crowded side.

There is street parking, but only on the left side of the street and only about 14 parking spots. The walk to the beach is easy to moderate while walking thru soft sand, until the beach, where ancient trees lay on their sides, and roots make for a gorgeous view. The day we were here, the beach was littered with the bodies of cannon ball jellyfish, which are surprisingly solid, so watch your feet. Enjoy the temperate water of the Atlantic ocean and the bright South Ga Sun for a perfect afternoon.

The design featured 14 large and small squares spaced evenly among residential and commercial land lots. These park-like areas were to be deeded to the people of the city in perpetuity, never to be sold or developed. Over the centuries, a number of the squares of Brunswick have been sold, encroached upon or developed for civic or private purposes. Queen Square, named in honor of the queens of England, is the only true square in Brunswick located within the downtown commercial district. The square has a memorial to Columbia Downing Jr, who joined the Union Army as a bugler in 1862 and moved to Brunswick in 1881. When the First National Bank of Brunswick was organized in February 1884, he became its first president. Col. Downing was well known for his philanthropy as well as his financial accomplishments. To honor his contributions to the prosperity of the city, a monument bench with his portrait, rendered in bronze, is located in Queen Square Northwest. The northern half of Queen Square is used as community green space. There, visitors find a stone Celtic cross monument to colonial founder, General James Edward Oglethorpe. He was well known in England for his vigorous reform in 1729 of the country's inhumane treatment of prisoners, many of whom were incarcerated for simple debts. His vision for the colony of Georgia was a fresh start for "the worthy poor," offering them a chance to own their land and escape poverty at home. There is a nice water feature in the entry area and they have one, yes one poop bag dispenser and trash can and the trash can is located outside the entry gate? They do have a few agility items and one somewhat tree in the middle. But your dog can run and play and have fun, and young lady met a pitbull here that didn't play well with other dogs, but through patience and understanding she taught him how!
