Nice St. Simon Island Beach with free parking, showers, & bathroom. It's an easy walk to the beach from the parking lot and check my pic to see when you can bring your dogs. Make sure they are leashed bc one inconsiderate owner let her dog unleashed and ran to us and disturbed us. It's a good size beach. The water is ok but I'm use to the Florida water. But it's still a nice treat none the less.

Nice well kept park with access to East Beach. Plenty of shade, picnic tables, public restrooms. Plenty of parking.

This is a large, clean beach that has a stream running through the beach with some ponds on the beach also. I have never seen that before. I thought that it was neat. The beach is clean and not too busy when we were there. You can find sand dollars there too. They have bathrooms and playground equipment also.

I love beaches and was delighted to come across Massengale Park while passing through the area. During my visit the water was calm and the sand was more on the firm side (not sure if that is the norm). I definitely would make a trip back to float around once it gets warmer. The water seemed more unclear than other beaches I've been to but overall it was a nice area with plenty of beach area for all. Dogs are also allowed on the beach, I love dog beaches .

It was busy with kids and parents mostly stayed to the sideline letting kids make friends and have a blast. There are loads of shaded picnic tables right next to the park where you can sit or bring lunch to eat at! The squirrels are very friendly and the birds come up to you almost like they expect a due for sitting under their tree, haha! Very clean and safe. There are public restrooms at the brick building across the sidewalk on the side of the picnic tables towards the parking. For public restrooms they're not bad! A quick straight stroll (2 blocks or so) to get ice cream and go out to eat or shop around! Great location.

When it's not being used freely by all sorts of visitors and tourists, the park gets set up for different events throughout the year, including for Memorial Day, Fourth of July and music festivals. Enjoy the view of the Saint Simons Sound. The big widget is the recovery ship that is cutting up the Golden Ray, a car transporter that capsized a few years back. Great spot. Parking can be a challenge during the busier times but there are plenty of bike racks. [Review 15742 overall - 424 in Georgia - 1246 of 2021.]

The employees and camp hosts are friendly and helpful. There is lots of trails and wildlife to enjoy. Anytime we have had issues, they are promptly addressed and rectified. We regularly visit Savannah, Jacksonville, St Simons, Jekyll Island, Amelia Island and Okefenokee National Park while staying here. Transients like me and longer term stays are available in the campground. There's just something about being waterside that I find helpful for my mood and my productivity, I was here for about two hours for phone calls and emails, sitting in the van and listening to the quiet lapping of the shore. There are activities here including picnic shelters, a playground, a fishing pier and a boat launch with crane. I was able to watch them pull a boat in with the crane and load it onto a trailer. Very cool and clever. [Review 19929 overall - 616 in Georgia - 902 of 2023.]

Near the sandbar the water gets deep fast so if you have littles or inexperienced swimmers walk further down to set up. We went during low tide and we were able to pretty much walk all the way out to the middle of the ocean with the water at our knees in most parts. The wind was a little gusty the day we went so bring something to hold down the beach towels so they don't fly away while you're frolicking in the water! Lol! It was less crowded than the area we went the day before too! Such a fun place to enjoy the ocean and soak in the sunshine!!

It was a short walk to the water and there were tons of "pools" for our toddler to splash in and search for seashells (which we found plenty of)! Be wary, the water/tide was a bit strong and there were some sudden drop offs, I don't recommend for swimming but a quick splash a couple feet in was perfect for us. It was relatively quiet and there were plenty of birds to watch! There is a hose in the corner of the parking lot near to rinse off with.
