The person was sharp and unfriendly with her stating we called you 3 times. My wife asked did you leave any messages, he stated we always leave messages. So she was quick to realize that they most likely errored in recording her phone number... not a big deal in and of itself it was about the attitude and cold sharp tones when it didn't have to be such. Unfortunately I've seen this attitude myself when seeing an interaction in the past with an unknown customer. This isn't a case of the customer is always right it's about being friendly and maybe just plain nice. It focuses on music, both in vinyl and CD formats, with far less gimmicky novelty items that were HMV's downfall. The selection is vast, with many back-catalogue albums as well as newer material and "greatest hits." Prices generally are fair, with many CDs listed as "2-for-$15" or "2-for-$20". I did note that latest releases are a couple of dollars more than you might find elsewhere, and some of the box-sets were rather pricey, but otherwise I'm very happy that this store is now open. Besides music, there are some racks of DVDs/Blu-rays, but overall I get the impression that this will be a good place to come to boost your music collection.

I took it to another place that his employee said to go, before he butted in, and made 40 dollars. It may not be much, but it was something. Seller beware if they tell you to donate. Chances are theyre lying and will try and resell your stuff instead of pay you for things that are worth money! He even said "dont take it to Value Village, they dont appreciate 'media'" That may be so, but at least Value Village doenst LIE about what they do! I would never reccomend ANYONE to sell thier stuff here, or if you DO, DONT take their advice and donate. Sell it yourself or shop around! Total scam artists!!!

Moving to a larger location on Port Credit's East side (about 1 km east of Hurontario), about 4 years has allowed for Ric's to expand their offerings and inventory to a point where you feel like you've traveled back in time to the 60's/70's to go record shopping. All the classics are there... like all of them! If you're a true audiophile, this is the place to be. I spend almost an hour doing a 'quick' skim of the categories that interested me most. Ric's has got a lot of vintage vinyl going from $6 up to $35-$40, there's something from every genre, category and generation on his shelves. That said, if you're looking for something old... brand new, he's got an expansive collection of re-releases and pressings that he keeps on regular order. These can range in price from $25 to over $100 depending on the album. For those still loving the smooth skip skip skip sound of CD's, Ric's has a good helping of these as well. I didn't choose to browse because if I want digital music, I'll download it from itunes, plain and simple. But if you're still a fan of the old compact disc, I'd swing by here and check them out! Today I picked up a Best of the Beatles 1967-1970, Kick by INXS and Blue Train by John Coltrane! I can't wait to get them home to listen!

Live theatre, Opera house, Mariposa Market (smaller but cooler than Vancouver's beautiful Granville Island Market), Museum of Art & History, Leacock Museum, great lakes and beaches. But my #1 oasis has become Alleycats Music & Art, run by Mike Rothwell and his team of serious music lovers. First time in, I didn't know what to expect. Was kind of like walking into a surreal dream that mixed the favourite parts of my childhood with more LPs, CDs, shirts, and posters than I could count. Bought my first record player in years (Audio-Technica turntable, Edifier speakers - great gear and price). Music selection really is exceptional. Staff were really helpful, too. It's hard to find a store like this in a big city centre, definitely did not expect it in this town of 35,000 people. Highly recommend.

So, I…read morediscovered Alley Catz a couple plus years ago and from the very beginning, I sensed the smaller town friendliness of Mike and Rob, which is a refreshing change from many stores in the GTA. Every time I'm in Orillia visiting my friends, I'll go in at least once to see what catches my eye, often buying 1 or more records, whether in the main store or the old Woolworths... But all that has suddenly changed. I was in yesterday and bought a bunch of records, spending a couple hours in the main store and digging in the basement. Today, I have some more time before making dinner and thought I'd go snooping in the basement again. I walk in the main store and ask if it's ok to look again. Mike confirms the gate is unlocked, I walk over but it's locked. So, I go back and Mike responds flippantly "oh well, too bad. I can't open it for you right now." Which I found odd, cause he's given me the key before when we first met but now there's a change of policy?? Ok whatever... Apparently, they've been dealing with shoplifters, which is a unfortunate. I hear Mike muttering under his breath "damn meth kids." Mike then continues to manifest this disdain towards me and made me feel like I was not to be trusted and says if he were to give me the key, that I'd have to have a minimum purchase of $5. I'm thinking, I spend money pretty much every time I come in, and just yesterday I spent $90+ and today I could spend more. And somehow you feel the need to enforce upon me a minimum?? So, along with this and some other off handed, passive aggressive comments yesterday and the general feeling that I was not welcome, so I just walked out. Don't imagine I'll be going back anytime soon... Unfortunately theft, external or otherwise is a part of every retail environment. If you can't manage that, and wind up translating those feelings by alienating and profiling every customer because of some bad eggs, you're in the wrong business...

No receipt of proof of good received was given to me I was called back by the manager shortly to say that the total of $150 would be paid to me for the records. I have tried without success to get back to the store to collect the money but seemed to always be earlier than your 12 noon opening time. I finally got back into the store Today to collect the money and was given a less than welcoming response. Since I was given no receipt and the time had elapsed I was made to feel like I wasn't entitled to the money. I was told as the till bottom was gone through that there was no record of my visit and no money left for me. I operate a business and would certainly not treat my customers like I was treated. I feel it might help that you improve your system of handling product left behind by TRUSTING customers. I have been a loyal customer Of KOPs records and this has definitely changed my mind about doing business with you in the future.
