I was very disappointed with the customer service I received during my recent visit…read more I stopped by to purchase six 20-pound bags of ice. Due to a spinal fusion and permanent lifting restrictions, I am unable to lift more than five pounds. I politely asked a lady (short, petite with dark hair who identified herself as the manager if someone could help me load the ice. Instead of showing empathy or trying to find a solution, I was told that she could tell me where the ice was but couldn't lift it for me. I explained again that I physically could not lift the bags at all. Rather than attempting to locate another employee, I was left waiting for approximately 45 minutes. What made the experience especially upsetting was the attitude. I felt dismissed and judged based solely on how I looked. Because when I asked, she actually looked me up and down. Her eyes scanned me as if to judge my ability to get my own ice. Just because someone appears healthy doesn't mean they don't have a disability or medical restriction. Disabilities are not always visible, and customer service should reflect that understanding. Ironically, an employee from the register--the same person who was there all along--eventually came over and loaded all six bags into my car without issue. Had that happened from the beginning, this entire experience could have been avoided. I shop at this location because it's convenient and carries products I need, so I'll likely continue to visit. However, I sincerely hope management takes this as an opportunity to improve customer service and provide better training on assisting customers with disabilities or medical limitations. A little kindness, empathy, and willingness to help can make all the difference.

Content removed This content may violate our usage policies…read more It sounds like you want to turn this into something you can post publicly or send as a formal complaint. I can help you make it clearer, more focused, and more effective so it's taken seriously. Here's a revised version that keeps your core message but presents it in a more structured and credible way: I had a deeply uncomfortable experience at H Mart last night while shopping with my family. We came in simply to purchase a popular fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we felt unwelcome due to repeated staring. What escalated the situation was the behavior of a middle-aged employee wearing a burgundy shirt, who appeared to follow us around the store. This made us feel singled out and unsafe. When I confronted the situation by turning my cart around and moving toward him, he abruptly walked away and avoided further interaction. As a person of color, this experience felt discriminatory and unacceptable. No customer should feel monitored or profiled while simply shopping with their family. Because of this incident, we will not be returning. I also intend to report this experience so it can be properly addressed. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews staff behavior, and ensures that all customers are treated with respect and dignity. If you want, I can also: Tailor this for Google Reviews, Yelp, or a corporate complaint form Make it stronger/more formal (for escalation) Or include specific details like location, time, or receipts to support your claim Let me know how you plan to use it. Tailor for Google reviews. Include Catonsville location Here's a version tailored specifically for a Google Review, with the H Mart Catonsville location included and a tone that's firm but more likely to be taken seriously by both customers and management: I had a very uncomfortable experience at H Mart in Catonsville last night while shopping with my family. We came in to pick up the popular fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we noticed people staring at us. What made the situation worse was a middle-aged employee wearing a burgundy shirt who appeared to follow us around the store. His behavior made us feel singled out and unwelcome. At one point, I turned my cart around and began moving toward him to address the situation, and he quickly walked away and avoided any interaction. That response only reinforced how uncomfortable and targeted we felt. As a person of color, this experience came across as discriminatory. No one should feel like they are being watched or profiled just for shopping with their family. Because of this, we will not be returning to this location. I hope management takes this seriously, reviews staff behavior, and ensures that all customers are treated with respect. If you want it to hit even harder (or sound more neutral/"corporate"), I can adjust the tone depending on whether your goal is impact, escalation, or just warning other customers. Hit harder. Warning other customers If your goal is to warn other customers and make the impact unmistakable, you can lean more direct and forceful--but it still helps to stay specific and grounded so people take it seriously rather than dismissing it as just anger. Here's a stronger Google Review version: I am a person of color, and my family and I had a disturbing experience at H Mart Catonsville. We came in just to buy the viral fruit-shaped ice cream, but almost immediately we were met with constant staring that made it clear we were not being treated like other customers. The situation escalated when a middle-aged employee in a burgundy shirt began following us around the store. Not assisting--watching us. It was obvious and uncomfortable. When I turned my cart around and approached him, he quickly walked away and hid in the men's restroom instead of addressing the situation. That alone tells you everything. We were made to feel singled out and unwelcome the entire time. As a family simply trying to shop, that is unacceptable. Be aware: if you are a person of color, you may not be treated with the same respect as others at this location. We will not be returning. Management seriously needs to address how customers are being treated in this store.

The staff were great and the ambiance friendly and cordial. I was at checkout and an item that I thought was a weekly special was an H Mart member exclusive deal. I went to the service counter and a pleasant lady had me fill out a membership form (to include a card for my wallet and to put on my keyring) and she credited me the difference, allowing me to get the sale price! They have fresh meat and seafood in addition to tons of Asian items. All in all, a great international market to visit to pick up items and to try new ones as well.

Country Corner Store is a gem of a find!…read more Owned by Mr. Jay, a pillar of the Oella community, one can find pretty much anything and everything in this one-stop-shop type of a place. Just note, this is a legit country store, offering random canned items, dried goods, toys, collectibles, drinks, snacks, and even hot food. We saw a patron come in, looking for charcoal, and there was a bag hiding behind the front door! We stopped by, as we had heard about Mr. Jay's famous burgers - we ordered one to share, open to any toppings he recommended - ours came with fresh Romaine lettuce, sliced onions, a hot pepper spread, sliced fresh jalapenos, cheese, and mayo, all nestled in a locally baked bread. This was a simple, but a tasty burger! The freshly-ground beef is picked up every morning, from the slaughterhouse that is across the street; I don't really want to think about that all too much, but just know that what you're getting is some fresh proteins! Mr. Jay also grows his own peppers and such, so you'll taste the freshness! There are a few comfortable chairs around the store, so you can definitely just sit and enjoy your food, or take it to go - we opted to dine-in, and we almost fell asleep since we were that cozy and relaxed! HA! Mr. Jay is also known as the Mayor of Oella, so be sure to sit and listen to his stories - he's so kind, personable, and has a lot of history to share! I saw a published photo book of his, which I found super cool; we also received the town's community calendar and a sampling of a neighbor's homemade brownie! Be sure to stop by to grab a meal - we had heard that he makes amazing omelets, so we'd love to try that next time! There were several associates sitting at the desk engaged in personal conversations, some of which even included profanity--something that is highly unprofessional on a sales floor. We spent about 25 minutes walking around the store, clearly visible and ready to make a purchase, yet not a single employee greeted us or offered assistance. Even standing near them did not prompt any acknowledgment. It felt as though helping customers was the last thing on their minds. What made the situation worse was overhearing an inappropriate conversation between an associate and a male customer, which was not suitable for a professional retail environment. At that point, I became frustrated and decided to leave around 3:35 PM without making a purchase. No matter if a customer is spending a dollar or thousands, everyone deserves to feel valued and respected. Unfortunately, that was not the case here. I will be taking my business elsewhere and will not recommend this store based on this experience.

Ordering was a long process, but very smooth. My husband and I ordered cabinets that were currently in stock in the warehouse purposefully because we were under a time crunch. All cabinets were supposed to be delivered on time together a few days after placing the order. Very little communication on when the delivery was going to take place. And then we were missing multiple cabinets (even though they were in stock) plus another badly damaged cabinet, which then needed to get replaced. We called multiple times and got the run-around concluding many phone calls with them needing to check inventory and will give us a call back. No callbacks were made. We were even denied speaking with a manager, when things just weren't getting resolved. 3 weeks after our initial delivery date we were able to receive all cabinets. Those that had to make the deliveries again due to a business mistake were very bitter and again not very communicative. Today, our contractors were to place the hardware on the cabinets. Come to find that the hardware that we received was incorrect. For the amount of money we paid for "in-stock" cabinets...was definitely not worth the headache of getting our order.
