I have been a patient for almost 20 years. I have stayed even with all the changes, all the rotating doctors, all the rude office staff, location changes and more recently, not being able to get appointments for literally MONTHS. Now, the already limited hours have been reduced MORE - nothing later than 5PM and that is only 2 days a week with the last appt at 415PM. The other three days are 4PM and 3PM. Ill be looking for another primary care. I wish I could give ZERO stars. I like my doctor and his nurse, but this practice is horribly run. Jean Langway read more

After being a patient of Maryland Primary Care Physicians since the early 1990's (back when their office was located on Kent Island), I was more than a little disappointed when I called to schedule an appointment today and was told that since I had not had an appointment in the last 2 years, I was now considered a "new patient" and the next available appointment for a "new patient " was in January! 9 months away! Over the past 30 years I referred multiple family members to this practice but now I'm a "new patient"! After COVID hit and everyone was highly discouraged from personally visiting a doctor's office for anything that was not absolutely essential, I did what I thought was the "responsible" thing and did not schedule routine check-ups....I didn't want to take up a doctors time when there were so many seriously ill with COVID. Little did I know that by not scheduling non-essential visits I would be dismissed as a client of this practice! Clearly this practice has more than enough patient's and could not possibly care less about kicking a 30-year customer to the curb. Nice job. read more

I have been their patient for over 25 years and brought my family with me. It used to be a wonderful place. It's gotten so frustrating. No one treats you as a patient. They do not listen or take your concerns into account. All the nurse practioners do is put a band-aid on something that needs serious attention. One practioner there totally miss diagnosed my mother causing her to need a colostomy bag. Another one there just pushes you to someone else and the physicians assistant is nice but clueless. These are people's lives. It's very sad. Do not go there you will be sorry. read more

this used to be a caring and helpful medical practice. I have been seeing one of the physicians there for 30 years. unfortunately she recently retired (they didn't bother to inform me) and now will not let me see any of the other physicians I know and trust. supposedly they are not accepting new patients. I'm not exactly new since I've been a patient there for so long. moreover, they expect me to go to the office to request a medical records transfer. I will be finding a new physician as soon as I obtain my records. read more

They advertise in the Shore Update that they are taking new patients, however when you call, the first available appointment is for summer 2024. Don't waste my time as I sat on hold for over 11 minutes to be told that. Find a practice that cares about you! read more

Compromising an excellent medical staff are stone age communications systems that will frustrate the most patient of patients. This practice forces callers to wade through layers of phone menus to try and return the call of a treating physician or staff member -- and they REFUSE to give you an extension number for the convenience of bypassing this tedious system. The practice also refuses to accept e-mail - even requesting I drive to their practice to bring them a document. I am happy with my doctor at MPCP. But the cumbersome and dated nature of the business operation otherwise makes this a very difficult place to work with in an age where the likes of Anne Arundel Medical Center and Johns Hopkins practices happily e-mail and text to patients without a second thought. read more

I guess they're ok if you can get a human on the phone. If you don't have 45 minutes to sit on hold anytime you need *anything*, best go elsewhere. Highly recommend Centreville Family Medicine. Much less time-wasted and providers are very accessible and responsive. read more

Julie Hennes Reese is a phenomenal provider. That's where this practice stops. The front end staff here are abysmal--and they seem to revel in their power. It's honestly disgusting to have to grovel with apathetic staff to get to care or communication to your provider. Look elsewhere -- and yes, it really is that bad. read more

I have been going to this office for a decade. I always had to wait for appointments because they are always late. My most recent interaction involved the doctor giving me a prescription for some excruciating pain I was having with an injury. The amount prescribed was going to run out over the weekend so I called to have more prescribed to get me through the weekend. I called the office 3 times and was promised it would be handled. It was not. I then had to call on Saturday and finally got the on call doctor to call me back. She was unhelpful and did nothing to resolve my issue, and did not even follow up with me on Monday as promised. Service and care has always been slow and hit or miss. But this latest event has me questioning their competence. A doctors office, at the basic minimum, should be able to help their customers manage temporary pain. Not so in this case. read more

Went in for a physical and came out with 2 office visit charges and an order for a multiple thousand dollar imaging scan. I was told by the office manager that "physicals are for healthy people and you mentioned you were concerned about another issue so that warrants another office visit charge". Which like I said I went in only for the physical, the provider asked if I had any other concerns just so she could charge me twice in one day (which was a very minor concern). Not to mention tried to charge my insurance company twice for a blood draw which one was obviously denied and after all that received a bill for my copay a week after the appointment. Never have I ever received a health related bill that quickly! read more

Haven't changed my mind about this place. I called today because I have Sciatica and can hardly walk. Did a med call with a nurse. She prescribed me 5 Predisone and 6 muscle relaxant pills! Told be to take Tylenol for the pain. Normally a dr will prescribe 2 weeks of bedrest for this! I have 5 days to get well. THANKS A LOT. Guess I will go to Patient First if I am able to drive. I have been going to Maryland Primary Care Physicians for 25 years. I recently had to have MRI for my spine because of issues I was having. My specialist along with pain management saw a spot on my thyroid and informed me that I need to speak to my primary care physician about this. My mother has a history of thyroid cancer so this is something that definitely concerns me. I have called them for the last two months leaving messages and I'm still yet to get a phone call back. We've been using MCPCP since we moved here 2 years ago. Thankfully, our family is healthy so we don't have to go much, but when we do, they take good care of us. I especially like Bethany Berger. She's gentle, has excellent "bedside" manner, and I feel like she really listens to me. She wants to help me feel better by solving the problem, not just throwing medicine at it. As someone who tends toward using more natural health remedies, I really appreciate that. We're grateful for such caring people in the health care industry and MCPCP is where to find them! read more

Unbelievable. My son went in for an ear infection diagnosis and the nurse practitioner FORGOT to place the prescription at the drug store. I waited in the drug store for 30 minutes and then tried to call the doctor's office to see why the prescription had not arrived. The office was closed. So, the next day, I called CVS to see if I could pick-up the prescription. It was not there. I called the doctor's office and they told me that the nurse practitioner had not sent the prescription! They could not do anything about it until a doctor could send it and they were all in with patients. Four hours later, I had to call them again and the person answering the phone abruptly asks "NAME?!" (not -"Oh, we are so sorry for that. May I please have the patients name?" I had to give the details all over again. You would think that they would know after this huge mistake and be taking care to get the prescription in. No apologies. No customer service. No bedside manner. My vet's office gives better attention to their patients! In the meantime, my son is suffering a painful ear infection with no meds. read more
