I was assured that they have a technician with 40+ years of experience back there so I was sure I would be taken care of...About a day or 2 later they call and let me know it is my valve body (I had a feeling it was) they then quote me $6700 to replace the $2100 part, but I have a warranty company and I was just gonna let them cover most of so I told them to go ahead with the job. But get this, they call me back a couple days later and all of the sudden I need a new transmission BADLY, it's beyond repair and some more bullsh** ($13000) LOL at this point I knew I needed to get my car outta their hands...I obviously take my car somewhere else and in 2 DAYS what do you know my q50 is back on the road with the SAME transmission for $1300. There's so much more I could add but u guys get it just stay away from this business genuinely, it's a joke...either they're snakes or they don't know wtf they are doing in that shop but i'll let you all decide that.

Notice how the good reviews are over a year old, it's from the old owners who were honest. The new guys are scammers and tried to sell me completely unnecessary work on my transmission. I took it to another shop in Laurel and it was fixed in 2 days. These guys wanted to rebuild the transmission. They also charge a diagnostic fee of $165. Other transmission shops will scan the codes for free. My advice is go to North Laurel Transmission right down the street. They will diagnose your transmission for free and won't sell you a fluid service when the transmission has a code for a sensor that needs replacing.

I'm new to the area and was going in blind. Dropped my car off late last night. The drop off was very simple. They make it extremely accessible for tow trucks to plop the car down and I had no worries about leaving my car there overnight. They were messaging me about it by 9 AM the very next morning. It was not what I thought it was, and the repair ended up costing me half of what I expected. They made sure to contact me before continuing the work, even though it was less than originally quoted. They got the part ordered and the job was done by lunchtime. When my fiance went to pick the vehicle up, she told me to write a review immediately because of how friendly they were. She even overheard the mechanic who worked on my car trying to reassure someone on the phone about the job they were working on in a way that you can tell he was dealing with an angry customer and handled it in stride. The receptionist was also extremely kind and helpful when picking up and when I spoke with her on the phone. I don't know what else to say about these guys. I don't like to pay for replacement parts from the dealer (which appears to be the rule in this area of Maryland) but in this case it worked to my benefit. As for inspections, I have heard the same story about just about every repair shop. While I appreciate the level of scrutiny, it appears like a one time chance to obtain a lot of work. Coming from a neighboring state , I was naive as far as the costs and the 30 day requirement for findings to be resolved. A lesson learned the hard way. Unfortunately, this wasn't clearly communicated during my original call with Lou. If he had mentioned that we'd receive a text requiring approval before any work could be done--and that payment would only be due after the diagnostic--I would not have left a one-star review. From a customer's perspective, receiving a $200+ link without prior explanation understandably creates the impression that payment is required in advance. This was a clear miscommunication, and I'm willing to chalk it up as such. That said, I strongly recommend the business makes this process more transparent in future calls.
