    Vegan Chorizo Gordita
    Devin C.

If your a vegan driving through, please stop in. If your not, stop in anyway. They have a lot of options. Really hit the spot for my urge to get some good Latin home food. Food was delicious!!!! You can ask for the vegan chorizo on any taco, gordita etc. And the agua frescas were divine. Service was great, we got menus and quick assistance. The restaurant is sooooo clean, the decor is really nice and modern and confortable. I'm use to Latin places being a little sticky on all their surfaces but this place was not like that at all which I just LOVED. Stop into this little marvel and try the food yourself, you won't be disappointed.

Over priced Menudo with these 2 huge bones!

Not a fan at all... as I am Mexican and lived most of my life in SoCal so I kind of know what GOOD Mexican food should tastes like. I ordered my food to go and waited for my food inside. I understand this is a mom and pop place but damn it was small and very little seating. Someone who ordered food to go didn't get salsa, and then when a worker gave the customer salsa but didn't charge him, the owner began to belittle the worker letting him know how much each salsa costs... take that shit in the back so customers can't hear this crap it's a terrible look, an beware a lot of people who don't look like they know Spanish sometimes do as I am one of those lite skined latinos and understand EVERYTHING! Now I ordered 8 tacos, a carnitas burrito, beef tamale, and Menudo. The tacos were dry and i only got 7, and of all things they didn't give me salsa... maybe this is how they get their extra 75 cents per salsa. The burrito was not good at all and for some reason there was corn in it... what the heck. They forgot the tamales and i am sure they would have been dry too. Now here is the sad part...as this dish was the only reason I wanted to try this place... the menudo, it was 16 bucks for 5 pieces of meat and 2 HUGE bones with not one piece of hominy. The broth wasn't all that great either, and mind you menudo is a poor man dish so it shouldn't be so pricey... but when there are not a lot of places that serve this, people feel the need to charge more. Next time I get the craving I will just go pick up some canned menudo as that's better than this place in my opinion. And I paid over 70 buck for all of this that should have been no more that 50. I will NEVER go back and take a longer drive to a better place.

This cozy place deserves a five star rating. They're not the typical Mexican tastes that you find everywhere , they're definitely different. They try to bring some authenticity in the taste of food. They also have a supply of popsicle supplied by a specific maker and wide variety of delicious options. We stopped by during our ride to West Virginia and totally got lucky. Not a fine dining place but you'll leave happy.

A "yummm" while enjoying Marie's cooking.

We love the food that we bring home from here. Marie and her son Javier are wonderful cooks and this is genuine Mexican / hispanic food that we have missed for years. Yummm.

Not bad, but has lost a lot of flavor since a few years back. Got a good medley, not as good as the taco truck by the Cracker Barrel.

Great chorizo tacos as a pit stop in our road-trip. The horchata was also huge and tasted amazing. Wonderful Mexican food in a little town.

It wasn't very busy there were two other tables sitting when we walked in. When we got to the counter a lady took our order, she was dressed nice so we assumed she was a manager. After writing everything down she asked us to sit and wait. We were waiting for what seemed like long enough that our food should be ready and the manager looking lady start walking our direction with a bag. I looked at her and she "this is mine, I'm a customer, I was just helping out. They're still working on your food." Then she left with her food. It was really weird. Since we ordered, two more tables had filled and the first two had eaten and left. One of the new tables received their food and we continued to wait for a bit. There were only two people working there and the last that was bringing food out and packing to go orders seemed busy so we didn't want to bother her. When I checked the time we had been sitting there for an hour. We asked about the order and were told that the empanadas took some time and they had a cook not show up and if I changed my order it would be faster. (I ordered the carne asada.) I was actually craving it so I declined to do so. She said it would be 20 more minutes for the food and we asked her to cancel the order. We had plans that evening that we were now pushing to be late for. So we sat there for an hour and never got to eat. We left feeling hungry and frustrated. I worked in restaurants for a long time, I understand that staffing can be tough some days and isn't always in your control. What you can control is telling people when they order that the food could take up to an hour and a half so they can make a decision on whether that works for them or not. That's a substantial amount of time to expect someone to wait. We also would have appreciated some sort of check in with information. What's taking so long, how much longer is it expected to be and so on. I hope to get to try the food of we're back in the area, but for this visit it was very disappointing.

A paper sign on the door is great when there's an early or extended closure, but that paper sign should be complemented by posts on the website and/or social media. I've never called and had a staff member answer the phone, so if we can't even call ahead... G&G needs a system that communicates closures to demonstrate more respect for patrons' time. We've hired G&G to cater our professional events and even our wedding brunch. It isn't too much to ask for a heads up when they know they won't be open during regular hours, right? Ps. Taqueria Guadalajara has a bit of a tucked away location just on the outskirts of Winchester,…read morewhich gives it that standalone, local spot feel. While having its own building is a plus, parking can quickly become a headache during busy hours, so timing your visit makes a difference. Walking in, there wasn't a host present, which made the entrance feel a little unorganized at first. However, a server quickly stepped in and pointed us in the right direction. From there, the experience improved the service was genuinely friendly and attentive, which helped set a positive tone for the meal. The burrito was the highlight. It came out well prepared with solid flavor throughout, even though it didn't include any sides. Normally, that might feel like something is missing, but the taste was good enough to carry the dish on its own. Pricing leans a bit on the higher side, which is something to keep in mind, especially given the lack of extras. Overall, Taqueria Guadalajara delivers where it matters most good flavor and friendly service even if it has a few logistical hiccups like parking and the initial lack of greeting. It's the kind of place that leaves you debating between a 4 and a 5, but the quality of the food ultimately pushes it into 5-star territory

Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Best tacos in the area continue to be Los Altos de Jalisco in Winchester. I said what I said.
