Strongly recommend they consider some pads on the ceiling to absorb the sound, or maybe a carpet, but our table of three was shouting to hear each other on a Tuesday night. Salsa continues to be delicious (albeit punishing the next day), and of my three tacos, carnitas was the only one to write home about. Pescado was fishy (not in the good way), and the al pastor was, again, just okay. Pointed out my chipped water glass to the server, who was apologetic and promptly replaced it. Was looking forward to the Don Gato burrito with the good reviews. My friend has had it five times and swore it was the best. It was somewhat disappointing. There was hardly any beef and an overwhelming amount of black beans. The chips were fine but a bit thick. The salsa lacked any spice and was pretty bland. This is authentic Mexican at its best. Try the shredded goat or chipotle shredded chicken in your sopes like I did, grilled chicken in your burrito don gato like my boyfriend did, or any of the other delicious filling options. My wife has loved this place for some time now as anytime her companies corporate team is in the area, they go there and love it. We've been there twice together and never let down. The food is excellent and fresh, especially the guacamole. Recently she got the pineapple margarita and I had the tamarind margarita and couldn't believe how great it was. Taqueria on the South side of town. They serve authentic Guadalajara dishes. Burrito , street tacos , enchiladas, tamales , beef, chicken and fish. The dishes are deep in flavor - gourmet. Protein choices include pork, brisket, beef tongue , beef cheek and more. The chips and salsa for an Upcharge are thicker than normal , fresh fried and lightly seasoned while the salsa is very smokey chipotle flavor. Guacamole is fresh made and yummy. They have a full bar with several specialty drinks, beer and wine. The interior is small with wood tables and a Mexican flair. It can get quite loud. Service is generally good. This place is well worth the trip for something out of the ordinary in Mexican cuisine. Can be considered a little pricey but not overly. Try a desert !! Food is great. Not as big of portions as I'd like but tasty and well seasoned. Not happy about a charge for the salsa and chips that are free everywhere else. Queso is nice and spicy. Very disappointing that they don't make the Al Pastor on a spit. That's a requirement for Al Pastor if you understand what it is and its legacy. Drinks are small also but well made. Been here a few times and service is always slow. Drinks are especially slow as there is just one bartender so order your refills when you get a chance. You know what, I'm gonna say it! Taqueria Guadalajara in Winchester, VA is in my top two authentic Mexican spots. The sopes were so legit, my tacos were . The churros were so good. Just a 10/10 experience I'm very picky about my Mexican food as my mother cooked homemade for us all my life (tortillas from scratch etc) even her and her friends come here, that's how you know it's legit! The staff are super friendly and helpful, and they bring the food out quickly. There is ample parking and the decor is cute. The plates are absolutely to die for! They're cute and flowery. The decor is very homey and the staff was generally friendly. The enchiladas surprisingly has a barbecue taste to it, which made it a bit more sweet and savory. The sopes also kept their shape well due to the masa but the meat was also tough. For the Carne ala Mexicana, the steak was a bit tough to chew and thus swallow. It is also a bit dry, so take your time to cut them into proper pieces. The side salad was filled with avocado and it went well with the tortillas along with the meat and beans. Overall, I would come here again as the food was pretty good for the price but I would say that its main charm are the plates and the restaurant decor. My husband and I were just driving through and saw this cute restaurant and decided to try it out. It was the Day of the Dead, the restaurant gave out free tamales, candies and chips and churros. That was the highlight of the dinner. The decor was super cute and chic. I was so in love with the tables and chairs so unique! I love Mexican food! I will say my carne asada was a bit salty and surprisingly thin slice of meat. I've had at other restaurants were they were a bit meater. My husband did say he love their chocolate milk, was made fresh and their tamales. He had tacos, where the make the own tortillas. Service was good, friendly and speedy. We had placed a reservation for 7 but didn't get seated until 7:30, however the comped us with chips and salsa and guacamole on the house, which was so delicious! My girlfriend and I split the mole oaxaqueno and the tamales, both were so amazing! The mole had such a deep flavor that was, nutty, chocolatey, with a bit of spice!
