    Steak Fajitas
    Lee T.

Stopped by 3:00 on a Sunday. Party of five sat right away. We were the only ones there:-) service was prompt. Food was nicely presented, tasted great and portions were huge. We had a El Ranchero burrito with steak, a steak fajita, a couple of #4 burrito/ taco from lunch menu, and a super nice bowl - lettuce, tomato, rice, black beans, and steak. Everyone clean their plates.

Super excited to see more restaurants popping up in a Broadway, VA. My boyfriend mentioned there has been a lot of talk about this new restaurant...and the parking lot was packed! Upon Walking in I was greeted by Mexican music and decor...and great smells of promising plates. I have to say the food is not awful, far from it. But I don't think they were adequately prepared for such a strong, highly attended opening. It seems as though they were shortstaffed often times I saw servers literally running through the restaurant, lines for takeout orders and for paying for your order were long just a little bit of an inconvenience. They do not have their liquor license yet so no margaritas to go with your tacos, I asked for horchata and they were also out of that. Little customer service right now since they are spread so thin. They have another location in Harrisonburg, VA. The menu was extensive with plenty of vegetarian, meat, seafood, and kid menu options. Prices were super favorable. I enjoyed my shrimp quesadilla but I'm not sure he type of cheese they use. It didn't taste super high quality and melted weird. The shrimp were larger than expected and seemed fresh and seasoned and grilled to perfection. My boyfriend got the Nachos Tejanas and it was satisfying. Best of luck to the owners since they are recently open! If they improve they small things they can really shine. Otherwise, lines are packed to try El Ranchero anyway!

Always up for trying New Mexican restaurants. Right now this one will be my go to place. Friendly staff and great food for the value.

This was a good local business we stopped at while staying nearby in the mountains. We ordered the bean nachos, and fajitas each. The bean nachos in my opinion were not something I would order again, nothing was wrong with them exactly, they wouldn't be my preference for an appetizer to splurge on on a night out. It is just what it sounds like, refried beans on corn chips. On the other hand the fajitas were great and you got huge portions of the peppers, onions and meat. I would definitely recommend a stop at el ranchero when you come through broadway.

Local Mexican spots always hit, and this one's no different. The amount of meat that came with my fajitas was insane!!

I got the burrito fajita, no peppers, with beef and side of refried beans. The beef was seasoned very well, it wasn't overcooked, but was a little sweeter than I would prefer. The cheese sauce was great, could've used a little more spice. I enjoyed the salsa, I could've had a little less cilantro and been happier with that. The service was great! I was greeted as soon as I was in the door and they were very polite! I will definitely be going back!

It came with a hot marinara sauce. It was delicious. My mother ordered broiled flounder with baked potatoes and salad. I ordered make my own 3 items which included fried Soft shell crab, fired scallops and crab cake with sides of baked potatoes and onion rings. All dishes came with hush puppies. My sister had fried oysters. They said the broiled flounder had no taste. I liked all my dishes though the crab cake was saltier for me than I normally like. They give you all sorts of sauce and special butter for the baked sweet potatoes. The waitress was really nice and came back and refilled my soda a lot. It's an old restaurant and the ambience is lots of people come here for seafood. Considering it's not close to any sea, it's pretty good. I forgot to take photos to share. When we left around 6:30 the parking lot was full and people were waiting for tables.

We had the fish tacos, lobster tails, the build your own 3 item meal ( crab legs, steamed shrimp and crab cake) this combo was amazing. The crab meat unlike any other I've had before. You get pretty much a crab cake made of only the meat, no fillers. Everyone enjoyed every bite and we will definitely come again on our next visit. Our server was very nice and helpful.

We had to drop off some items in the area and wanted to get dinner before heading back, so we looked over the menu and reviews. It seemed like it would be perfect for seafood lovers, and we were able to snag one of the last tables available. From the time we walked in, the service was amazing. The staff made great recommendations, checked on us frequently without being intrusive, and made sure we were enjoying our first experience there. Even the other customers were super friendly and told us they had been coming back for years for the great food and service. We both loved our meals. The breading on my fish was really crispy (a recommendation from the server), and the hush puppies were delicious. The portions were very generous, and I really enjoyed my leftovers the next day! The decor there is also super cute. They have several old soda machines outside and adorable crab-themed items inside and outside. Even though it's a bit of a drive, we both agreed that it will be well worth another trip in the future!

Parking is a bit tight, and the layout of the lot is... let's just say, a little confusing. I thought there might be an exit on the opposite side, but that might've just been me overthinking it. Inside, the place has a cozy, casual vibe, and there's also a nice outdoor patio if the weather's good. What stood out right away was the owner--the same person you see on their social media sharing specials--was actively working the floor. He was taking orders, cleaning up, and checking in on tables. Always great to see that level of involvement and energy. We went with the fried baskets, and the portion sizes were huge--definitely felt like a good value for the price. (Check out the pictures!) Everything we had was hot, crispy, and satisfying. We saw a few other dishes--like the tacos and steak--go by, and they looked just as tempting. I've already made a mental note to try the scallops or one of those tacos next time I'm back.

Which is also why, unfortunately I don't have pictures. This place is so on point with service. Danny making the drinks and his oyster shucker getting it done quickly to the back of the house bringing out my lobster bisque. Oysters were spot on. But the bisque. One of the best flavors. To Danny's credit I asked about the clam chowder or the bisque. He said they were both great but very different. Off his description I chose the bisque. OMG! With my issues I need to be safe and this was so good. The food, the environment, but most importantly the service was great.
