WAIT TIME 40 - 1 HOUR!!!!!!…read more I used to really like this office. Dr. Norona is great. However, after my recent experience, I am extremely disappointed. I brought my two children in for pre-op appointments. My son was not cleared due to congestion, which I completely understand and respect. Safety comes first. But what is NOT acceptable is what happened with my daughter. One of the PAs, Ruth, gave completely false information to the surgeon who will be performing the procedure. She told the surgeon that my daughter had just been seen the day before with a fever. That is absolutely untrue. My daughter had not been seen in almost a YEAR. Ruth was reading from a note that was ONE YEAR OLD and presenting it as if it was current information. Because of that mistake, my daughter almost was not cleared for surgery. If I had not been paying attention and listening carefully, her surgery could have been canceled over outdated information from a year ago. Do you understand how serious that is? We have been waiting for this surgery date. Rescheduling would mean starting the entire process over again and waiting another month or more. This is not a small clerical error this directly impacts children, families, and planned medical procedures. I understand that human mistakes happen. But when it comes to pre-op clearance and surgery, details matter. Reading a year-old note as if it's current is not okay. Families deserve better attention to detail than that. Very disappointed

Here's the thing, I like Dr. Clark, but... I came based on recommendations and location and I've…read morefound that I'm not really getting the benefit of the bargain. THE GOOD: Dr. Clark and her NP are SUPER nice. Dr. Clark can be a woman of few words. You do need to probe. I usually have questions and am prepared so this doesn't bother me. I don't find her to be super proactive, though. Her NP is much more bubbly and forthcoming. The office is in a great location with decent parking. Nice waiting room. Nice staff. The rooms are well lit, clean, and have views so you won't be bored while you wait...and wait. THE BAD 1) Wait time. EGREGIOUS. We are usually quite early for our appointment because we come a long way and every single time we have come, it's taken over half an hour to be seen--this is beyond the appointment time, not inclusive. THEN, if they have to do anything, they'll leave for 20 minutes and then come back--I just know they squeezed another patient in during this time. My time matters too and I CANNOT with this. I meet my nanny there with our child and usually my husband comes too. This is three adults giving up most of an afternoon unnecessarily. I find it unconscionably rude. 2) Staffing. They are extremely short staffed. I didn't see a nurse the entire time I was there and, though we made an appointment with Dr. Clark, we were shuttled off onto her NP without even a by-your-leave. 3) Paperwork. My kids have allergies. They are on medications and require forms for school. I sent paperwork in June and had to follow up several times to get it by September when I was told it would be faxed within the week!!! That's really insane! 4) PHONE ETIQUETTE: No one EVER picks up the phone here and you will NEVER get a call back. I don't do ERs and fortunately have plenty of qualified medical professionals in my family, but if I call on a Friday and haven't gotten a call back by the next Wednesday, that's a problem. A call back to ask how the child is and if the situation was resolved is ALWAYS WARRANTED. 5) Prescriptions and refills. My goodness, if you leave a message about a refill, they won't call you back for a week! What if it's a life or death situation people?!? That was the outside of too much. This practice has a lot of work to do. There are a number of other nitpicky things I won't mention except to say that I had high hopes for the practice that have been dashed. I gave several chances, but I think we are back in the market for a new pediatrician.

My daughter had been coming here since a newborn. Over the years, the nature of the office has…read morechanged. Previously, it would be much more welcoming, especially, for the children, it would have cartoons and toys for them. Now, your welcomed by a unfriendly receptionist and rather than someone walking you in they'll just tell you "Go to room 2". Dr Clark is still a very good doctor and the NP is friendly as well. As there practices are good, hopefully they can change the nature of the office, to me, that plays a part in the overall experience.

Last year my daughter had some kind of infection near her eye / face that spread down her entire…read moreface. The doctor that day gave us lab corp paperwork to get it tested, because they were unsure what it was. When going into labcorp to get it tested on Saturday because her appointment with this office was on a Friday. Labcorp let me know the test to figure out what the infection for was coded wrong. The office / doctor sent over lab work to have herpes vaginal testing done on a SIX YEAR OLD. I was unable to contact anyone until Monday and by then her face had scabbed over and they stated they would have to cut her face to test it / open the wound, so to avoid scaring we decided we would not get it tested since it was healing with different medicines. This past Wednesday (Sept. 11th) it started again and as of Thursday morning it is spreading. Thursday, I called attempting to make an appointment but they stated they cannot prove I have insurance. I called and verified with my insurance, the insurance company refused to send proof via email or fax due to them have a hotline specifically for providers to verify. I called the office back to let them know they verified over phone with me and the office in Glen Burnie said no they'll have to fax or something over for her to be seen and the office also asked if they gave me a reference number. The insurance woman had not. At this point I even offered to pay out of pocket because I wanted to make sure it can get tested properly because you guys dropped the ball last time. They stated again, per their policy they need to verify the insurance and left it at that, insinuating I could not come in and pay out of pocket. On Friday I called to speak with the insurance again and they stated that they cannot send anything to them via fax or email but that the office could call. I called the office again to try to get an appointment scheduled, they stated they already tried to look it up and it didn't work. I told the front desk person that I was worried it could affect her eye / lose it, if it gets bad. The woman at the front desk stated for me to take her to the ER. I said I would try to call insurance again. I then stressed to talk to someone else and then they said I could pay out of pocket and scheduled me. Which I found extremely shady after the office stating for a whole day per their policy they have to prove insurance. So I decided to reach out to the insurance one last time to see if I could get someone to help. FINALLY, I got someone from the insurance to help and not just try to get me off of the phone. She had called with me on the line to the office, provided a reference number as well as a letterhead for document of health coverage. They STILL refused and said no, I could pay out of pocket. I even sent over a pdf form of my ADP with the pdf documentation she provided showing my kids on my insurance. I cancelled the appointment since they showed they did not care to help from the start and at this point pure lack of incompetence because I was providing what they had requested the entire time and it still wasn't enough. We went to the ER. The hospital stated based on pictures provided of the last time it looks like it was definitively Shingles or some kind of HSV virus. And that she needed to be seen today because how close it was to her eye so it was good I brought her in because if we would've waited longer it could spread to her eye (my main concern I even stated on the phone with your office) it could also cause LONG TERM EYE DAMAGE. My daughter is 7 years old. I have been with this doctors office since Gatdula retired. For years I have never had an outstanding balance, always cancelled appointments within a responsible time if needed and have always been patient and worked with them, even when the ball is dropped like how it was last year or the front staff is rude and coming off unwelcoming / uncaring. I requested to speak to Dr. Aguilar or an office manager, nobody is available. Then I requested to get his email or a phone number to reach out, I was informed they'd pass my information along or I could email the generic office email. He still has not reached out. I would not recommend this doctors office or any of the other Riverdale Park Pediatrics that are associated. I highly recommend Dr. Aguilar and other reputable doctors that work for Riverdale Park Pediatrics request to have their front office staff retrained as well as listen to the recorded lines to see how they are treating people. Your administrative staff are one of the biggest representations of your business. This was truly a disappointing experience.

When and if you are able to get transfered to the front desk they don't help you. They don't want to work. They make it very difficult for parents to access records. The physicians are great but they neeed a new front desk staff and get rid of the call center!
